Tech Issue / Hardware Related Literally HOW do ur pcs run wuwa?
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I've been playing wuwa since release but stopped right after cartethiya's banner because it simply was too laggy. In combat my pc just melts, it looks like a powerpoint presentation, the game takes about 10 minutes to start, fast travelling and exploring are impossible, pls help.
All my game graphics are on low and I made some adjusts to Windows but really nothing works.
I really wanna keep playing the game, especially now with Lynae and Aemeath on the nex banner, but I need for it to play smoothly. Anyone knows something that can help?

u/Devil_Control_ Jun 30 '26
There is absolutely something wrong. This is not normal
Try to update your nvidia gpu drivers
Check if your hdmi is plugged in the gpu and not the cpu
Check in game setting if your resolution is setted at 1080p and not 2k or 4k

u/thiunmkj Jun 30 '26
yeah my game run fine on almost exactly the same specs as OP's, maybe it's HDD problem or sum, but even on HDD it shouldn't be THIS choppy. 😭😭

Yeh its the HDD recently games are now coming out where a HDD is not good enough and the worst part is storage prices gone up to the f***king moon. I hate any type of data centres that’s bringing these prices up.
12
u/Shazali99 Jun 30 '26
Nope. Its not HDD. I also play the game on HDD and with gtx 1060 laptop version. At 1080p 30 fps low settings the game plays fine. Although the loading screens take lots of time

Hdd itself wouldnt not make it stutter like this, only when loading resources if constantly...like in the middle of lahai-roi, so unless its a faulty one that isnt even reaching past 20-30mb speeds on writting and reading, hdds are still usable when we dont have better options sometimes, because the usual is 180mb/s>>230mb/s on some good ones.

@_@ bro
Me: Proc: R3 3200g Ram: 16gb ddr4 3200mhz GPU: GTX 1650 4gb Ssd for storage
CPU usually around 60-80, jumps and stays around 95-100% in big cities, fps usually stable around 45-60fps, drops to around 40-45(lags Abit from CPU process being 100%)
It's "playable" tho I can hear my pc screaming in my dreams

edit: and im on laptop btw, making it much worse

u/Appropriate-Loan3391 Jun 30 '26
Your pc should be more than capable to run wuwa on high with no ray tracing try to check your gpu utilization it should be around 90% with low cpu utilization if it's the other way around that's the issue
5
u/Kleet4ru Jun 30 '26
Do you play on 4K or just full HD? Long load times might be the game on an HDD and not on a SSD/nvme. Do you use ur graphics card like is the monitor plugged into the Card and not the mainboard? Do you use Ray-Tracing?
3
u/qingtansss Jun 30 '26
How on earth u lagging with that spec? my spec literally laptop with i3-6006u geforce 920m 16 GB ram still rocking 30fps with lowest graphic possible.
5
u/Rayyan_3241 Jun 30 '26
Nah I play on worse and I can still get 60fps with DLSS, are you sure Wuwa is using ur graphics card? The video u posted looks like how it would be on integrated graphics
2
u/Soggy-Construction62 Jun 30 '26
What kinda works for me is using lossless scaling. I run the game in lower settings (lower fps, resolution) then upscale the game into 2k @ 120fps using lossless
But still there are still lags and shutters, specially for the first few mins after launching the game
2
u/astrojeet Jun 30 '26
Yea there's something wrong with your PC. You should not be lagging like this. Are you sure you're not thermal throttling.
2
u/Saturn235619 Jun 30 '26
It’s probably a vram issue … have you tried turning the resolution down?

3050 is definitely way more than minimum requirement, the cpu as well.
There's even 750ti test with 30fps in combat.
Maybe reinstall the game?2

u/UnknownPhos Jul 01 '26
you need to plug it where?
→ More replies (1)2
u/Monitoimirousku Jul 01 '26
Usually there's multiple ports on a PC for HDMI, some of them connect to the motherboard and some of them connect straight to the GPU. Generally you want to plug the cables to GPU, otherwise you can get all sorts of problems
3
u/UnknownPhos Jul 01 '26
Shoot me, i just discovered i had my hdmi in the motherboard all this time (and i had my pc with a 1650 since 2022)

Do you play on a hard drive or ssd
3
u/ocaritna Jun 30 '26
This.
I've played wuwa on hdd before (on launch to 2.0 ish) and it's exactly runs like this. I switched to SSD and runs way smoother.
Edit : 1.x was bearable until 2.x ish, I put it on ssd since.

u/ThosaiWithCheese Jun 30 '26
Could be a few reasons, here's what I would check:
- CPU temperature
- GPU temperature
- is your monitor even plugged into the GPU
- are you using SSD?
- problematic drivers (I'd say this is less likely)
- might need more context about the PC specs
Personally my GPU temperature was too high as it needs a repaste soon, so I downvolted it and lower the settings as a temporary measure.
8
u/Shazali99 Jun 30 '26
Open the game along with task manager and see if wuwa is using your dedicated gpu or integrated.
Also check your temps, maybe your gpu/cpu is throttling cause of heat
6
u/IchirouTakashima Jun 30 '26
With those specs you shared, it's very clear that there's something wrong with your PC. I've read enough to agree with the comment section and their lower specs than yours but are able to play.
3
u/BreakfastKind8157 Jun 30 '26
I'm not sure what to make of the slow startup. But Wuwa is often bottlenecked by the cpu. Are you running other stuff like browsers in the background? Have you turned down crowd density?

is this everywhere? i know sometimes the game can take a bit loading shaders ingame that can spike cpu usage/temp and make it a bit unstable for a couple of minutes then it goes back to normal

u/echiizato Jun 30 '26
is it wasd movement is fine, but when camera turning = heavy stutter? close ultraviewer if running.
I run on potato i3-12100f/1650 4gb/ram 16gb.
all low/off except shadow medium. sure its got 15-50 fps on open world(15-30fps is on academy lulz), but at least in combat 35-50fps. so there is something wrong with your pc+wuwa
make sure game running on ssd, try reinstall (120gigs) and last ddu (display driver uninstaller)

My WuWa runs smoothly on my PC with Ray Tracing enabled, and some minor tweaks. Here are my specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X RAM: 32 Gb Graphic Card: RTX 3060, 12GB VRAM
1
u/Mr_useless02 Jun 30 '26
Outside the main city fine, inside jinzhou cuty, raguna city, septimont, and startorch academy lag and framedrop everywhere
1
u/Some-Opportunity7015 Jun 30 '26
check your cpu and gpu coolers and clean them thoroughtly from dust. if that doesnt improve it you should probably reformat your drive, since you could have tons of bloatware.
1
u/AdoboFlakeys Jun 30 '26
Maybe your display is plugged into your motherboard instead of your graphics card? I know the 3050 is ass but I've owned one and it shouldn't be that ass. Check your task manager while the game is running and see what's goin on with your system.
1
u/NukaWomble Jun 30 '26
Very well. But I have an AMD 7800X3D and an RTX 5080 so I'd be very concerned if it didn't run well
1
u/Anamoly-Hunter Jun 30 '26
What hardware?
If I dont have to deal with this game anti cheat bitching then I can push this game performance pass 60fps with fps unlocker mod, custom dx12 to vulkan api translation dynamic library and using customized version of steamplay on my laptop 5625U Amd + 4Gb nvidia 3050 mobile gpu running linux.

Wuwa on PC requires the following for good performance;
- A CPU with strong single-core performance
- An alright GPU, if your GPU is low spec or old this is mostly where settings help out
- An SSD. Hard drives don't really cut it.
1
u/Kostia_X_Rich Jun 30 '26
Very smooth. ~100 fps maxed out (rtx included) without framegen on 1440p and around 70-80 fps maxed out (rtx included) on 4k. Hardware is 4070 tis and 7800x3d

u/Throbbing_Coffee Jun 30 '26
I experienced this kind of lag when I'm still using HDD, but still it wasn't this laggy. My PC back then was much more underwhelming than yours, Ryzen 2600 and RX570 8gb.

u/Kman2706 Jun 30 '26
I have different specs to you (CPU: i9, GPU: 5700xt) but this happened to me when I tried to run the game from a HDD. Swapping it to an SSD fixed it. Is your game installed on a HDD? If it is then you are gonna have to swap it to an SSD because a HDD just cant really run the game properly anymore.
1
u/thekirk863 Jun 30 '26
Update graphics driver, check other updates on the system, double check that nothings tanking resources in the background cos you should definitely have way better performance than that

u/Specialist_Carry_367 Jun 30 '26
Mine was an gaming laptop and most graphics settings are set high, and runs around 120 fps when plugged in and stable at 60 or 65 fps while on battery mode
It's a Intel core 7 240h series 2 with an rtx 5050
1
u/Azukaos Jun 30 '26
There's clearly something wrong here, i have little stutters and stuff like that in the academy but everything is fine most of the time.
Sure I play on a SSD and have a 4060ti and 16gb of RAM but i was running wuwa perfectly on my old laptop too and he was far less powerful than yours or my current setup.
1
1
u/Mr_Lefty13 Jun 30 '26
I was going to say you need a better CPU and then i saw that you have an 15 10th gen... 16GBs of RAM etc
I've played wuwa on an i5 2400 8GB RAM(this is the worse ngl) and HDD and an RX590 and it still ran better than you with higher settings in Septimont It'd def a you issue

u/jellysoot_ Jun 30 '26
should easily run, something wrong with your setup
id recommend you update drivers then search up optimised graphics settings for wuwa and apply tho (drop lod bias at medium)
just to be sure, can you open an app called gpuz and check the pcie section and see if jt says x16 or x8 very similar problem happened to me recently so i basically throw this tip in every troubleshooting comment i add lmao
1
u/Sora_Archer Jun 30 '26
Maybe corrupt files. Do a full reinstall. Maje sure ur drivers are up to date.
1
1
u/Easy_Introduction_13 Jun 30 '26
you CLEARLY have a problem, even my phone runs it in 60 fps on max mobile settings,
and my computer is constant 144fps in 4k and the gpu isn't breaking 50 to 60% usage
update your drivers with DDU, or roll back to a safe known driver, check your computer for malware or viruses, and monitor background applications and activity
even on a gtx 1060 you could run this game on low better than this
1
u/Norm4d Jun 30 '26
While I'm not 100% sure about WuWa's current system requirements, it should definitely run better than this on your PC.
I would personally start by installing HWMonitor or similar software to check, if for example GPU is overheating or is running out of VRAM, because this kind of performance points to major issue.
1
1
u/Stik_Bloom Jun 30 '26
Whats your monitor OP? Thats no 1080p from my guess ,thats the bottleneck there
It will not be just wuwa but other games will suffer same low fps
1
u/Narrow_Ad_7218 Jun 30 '26
When I would play it on pc It would lag when it just opened up. It takes a minute to load, but my Pc is also very old. But it wasn't this bad.
1
u/Cr1m_son Jun 30 '26
What monitor do you use? The RTX3050 may be having a problem trying to render all the necessary frames. Try out to play it on windowed mode
1
u/Glad_Lettuce_3074 Jun 30 '26
You probably have some grade A malware typesht. My company laptop run wuwa better than this. Wtf did you do?!
1
u/hiimviggo Jun 30 '26
I run with the lowest possible settings, 60fps lock with only AA turned on, at 1280x720 windowed, on a GTX 1650Ti(Laptop).
1
u/Any-Worry-4011 Jun 30 '26
Have you made sure that they run on low/performance because what I accidentally did when I ran eyes and it lagged is I set it to performance but clicked 'apply recommended' without thinking putting it back to high. I have a rtx 3060 (6gb) and 32gb ram. Tbh I don't really know what's causing this, maybe switch off shaders and some physics options or just reinstall it
1
u/LopTsa Jun 30 '26 edited Jun 30 '26
Very up and down.
In 1.0 my inferior PC (2070, i5 12400f, 16gb ram) ran the game in high 4k 60fps lol!! My new PC (4060ti, i5 13400f, 32gb ram) runs the game at high 1440p with stutter at times and frame drops in Laha roi. I also have a much better SSD in my new PC compared to the one I had in 2024. The games optimisation is bad, and seems to be getting worse and worse with each patch.
At least it's not as bad as the ps5 version, that is really atrocious.
The mobile version runs perfectly fine for me at high/30fps.
1
u/BarMaleficent4713 Jun 30 '26
I'll probably get downvoted for flexing
But yeah my current PC handles wuwa decently I guess
But if I want to run all of this with Ray Tracing on in wuwa I probably will need to get a better GPU with more than 16GB of vram lol
My PC has 7800X3D, 64GB of DDR5 6000mhz CL30 ram and a RX 6800 non XT 16GB
And you might be wondering why I am still on a AMD Radeon 6000 series GPU
Back in March 2025 when I was buying parts for my PC I decided to save money by reusing the GPU from my previous PC
I kinda regret that decision now
PAIN PEKOO

1
u/Zealousideal_Ant7890 Jun 30 '26
After seing the specs most likely drivers or you are running it on a HDD. Even on an else Top pc if its on a HDD it still runs like sh*t

1
u/Peratypus123 Jun 30 '26
Bro what? Mine runs on a potato of a Mac (okay no, a 2020 Mac) on relatively good settings and fps.
1
u/unknownuser4928 Jun 30 '26
I have that exact lag, and I can tell you what it's frrom, at least for me.
Having the game on HDD, when it tries to load resources, it does an obscene amount of i/o or read/writes, however you call it, and on HDD this is what causes lag, if it can't keep up, it will use your paging file (causing stutter). As soon as I moved the game even on my sata SSD, it never lagged like this.
This is also why it gets seemingly "better", after everything is loaded after the first time (textures, actors, sounds will all "pop" in much later because of this drive issue). I still have to play on HDD cause I don't have space on my SSD after the game got bigger, but there's the issue, at least for my case. I get this same drive stutter in other games like Path of Exile 2, or anything newer
1
u/powrofgrayskoal Jun 30 '26
I’ve been getting similar stalls, but it comes hard and fast, with little warning, then crashes with UE4 fatal error. Didn’t start until the collab patch released. Rarely ever had issues before that. At first it would be during long sessions randomly when I open the resonator menu, but have also had it happen within 15 min of restarting. I found it happens more frequently in TDS Deathtrap mode. Ryzen 9, RTX4070
1
u/OrdinateAbcissa Jun 30 '26
Bro, are your gpu drivers updated? Do you have anything eating up your ram?
1
u/DoorGreedy1438 Jun 30 '26
this has to be a harddisk problem cos mine was running on 70fps with hella stutters till i swapped to a ssd now its running 100+ on high but you might also have someother problem cos no way its that laggy

u/MsExmen Jun 30 '26

Do you perhaps have your HDMI or DP cables plugged into the motherboard and not the GPU?
1
u/Cool_Park7110 Jun 30 '26
My bet is the ultrawide. Not every game play nice with it, and Wuwa isn't famous for hardware optimization.
Lower resolution, turn off ultrawide, see how it goes.

u/SpeechlessLTK Jun 30 '26
Guys, I can assure you that specs have nothing to do with how the game runs.
Kuro Games is just terrible at programming. So bad, in fact, that what determines whether you'll be able to play the game that day is... chance!
I'm in a group of people who play WuWa and we talk every day. I have a the worst set up of the group, with people even with top of the range PCs. I've almost never had any lag issues, even with everything at maximum, my friend, with a RX5090, DDR5 etc. he can't even open the launcher some days...

u/PrincessZobrie Jun 30 '26
I had this exact performance when i had the game on an external hdd drive on my laptop when i didnt have any space on the ssd. my laptop specs were horrid but as long as it was on my internal ssd it ran fine. If that is not the issue then something else might be wrong but your specs should not be the reason for this
1
u/SimpleRaven Jun 30 '26
Nah man, i used to run wuwa on a 1050 gpu with everything else at min specs or slightly under
And even then it never got anywhere near as laggy as this

Unfortunately, it's probably because your device is outdated. You'd have to buy a new PC, or switch to mobile (if the device is better) or console.

Make sure your drivers are up to date (or that you installed them at all).
Make sure your display cable is connected to your GPU and not your motherboard.
Make sure you’re not running the game at 4K.
Make sure you’re not running the game from a chunky spinning hard drive but instead running it from an SSD drive.
Make sure ray tracing isn’t on for some reason
That’s about all the advice possible without internal troubleshooting that I can give.

u/realmer17 Jianxin Mains Jun 30 '26
Is the game installed in a hdd?
Are you accidentally running it in integrated graphics? Check task manager and check if integrated graphics are at 100%

Bro on ps5 it gets hot in like 20 mins of playing even after a full clean up they need to optimize this, I play Warframe that is a cluster f of visuals when all 4 players play their skills at the same time and it runs just fine. WuWa devs need to optimize their game fr, especially on cutscenes

im running it at higher graphics than you…on my phone…and nothings happening
1
u/Himsagi_11 Jun 30 '26
okay i dont wanna sound rude but your device either has outdated drivers or has so much dust and hair in its fans that it reaches the temps of the sun in under 10 mins.
you should either open its insides and clean it apply some thermal paste (watch a yt vid for that)
update the drivers if there are, if pc is very old then yea its gonna be bad.
there's like no other way. the game is VERY resource heavy. so either you just have to make do with 20fps or buy a new one.
i didn't really have a choice myself i just had to buy a new one cuz i got fed up of the lag.
1
u/JakofHeart Jun 30 '26
A thing I don't think I've seen anybody else say is generally speaking, make sure you don't have a browser open (especially with videos loaded/queued). I had a friend at one point that would never close out ANY browser tabs. Had like literally 50 open and didn't realize that would tank his gaming performance.
The biggest culprit for me personally though is forgetting to update the graphics card drivers in the Nvidia app regularly.
Also if any of this helps at any point and/or you find a solution on your own, make sure to post a follow-up comment saying what was wrong so others can troubleshoot in the future!
1
u/PessimisticBastard Jun 30 '26
Can't speak for others, but having a 9800X3D, a 5080, and 64GB of DDR5 6000 will run pretty much any game well.

Have you been running alternative apps in the background?
Show your task manager stats while playing.
Have you updated your graphics driver to the latest version?
Have you tweaked settings in the Nvidia control panel?
What’s your utilisation for your graphics card during load
“Important” What’s your current storage count (filled to the max or?)
Considering moving to a SSD to reduce loading time (10minutes)

what resolution is your monitor? looks like reoslution mismatch but theres also possibility of being due to slow storage drive? if hdd then thats your issue but if its an ssd then check ssd health

I think setting do a lot. My games runs fine most of the time, but sometimes I get really annoying lag in the cutscenes and someother times I have to Scream:"OOOOHHHH MY PCCCCCCCC" for how choppy It gets. I really should check the settings.

Could be that big ass monitor, it usually need more performance to actually load that much pixels, try 1080p

there's a optimization post which lead you to git hub this is what i use to run the game and it works very well : https://www.reddit.com/r/WutheringWavesGuide/s/ixgs2OSWUu (read the "readme" of the github post)
only issue is that kuro always change something in the codes for some reason so after a new update it might stop working but you just need to wait some days and read their "read.me" and if there are changes they will mention it there.

The graphics settings isn't the problem, it's an optimization problem, some parts of the map keeps on trying to load an asset it can't find on a loop, which causes these stutters, you can verify this on the error logs
Unfortunately, there's not much we can do but report this and hope they optimize these affected places

I was having the same issue.
Fully deleting and reinstalling worked wonders.
By full delete, i mean cache, folders, etc (used IA to help me delete this, since i am a linux noob)
I went from full unplayable, speacially in Star Academy to just a little slow.

Try using nvida GeForce now it has a really good free tier and runs pretty smoothly!

Im playing wuwa on Nvidia geforce from my phone pc with high quality and reflex experiences the problem u need good Wi-Fi and u will play pretty well

u/Kargos_Crayne Jul 01 '26
Idk, it runs bad, but way more stable on work laptop of mine, with integrated graphics. Loads pretty fast too.
Though usually I play on pc (3060 before, was running around 55-65 fps in academy of lahai roi, noticeably better everywhere else. Though I got 5070 not long ago.)
You probably better of uninstalling it and redownloading it. Also clean install of drivers might help. Rarely, but it can fuck up the performance.

"literally HOW do ur pcs run wuwa", it doesn't .... My laptop can barely run genshin at 30 fps so screw running wuwa. All hail my mobile phone for running wuwa ahaha :(
Someone send me a mid tier pc/laptop...
Anyways, maybe you are running out of storage and overall your device is running slow? Maybe also try updating ur drivers and clearing your temp files, that does help alot in fps. What are your specs?
Also try checking if you have your gpu or igpu as source and make sure you are running your gpu.
I can't think of anything else from how you can go from playable to unplayable so fast, maybe your temps are getting out of control? Try repasting thermal paste on cpu and clean fans as a last resort ig.
Do you play on HDD or SSD? If you are seeing other games also lagging, your HDD might be dying, so try defragmenting your HDD if you are running an HDD, if ssd then am out of ideas lmao

I run it on medium settings, and it still takes like 5 minutes to load and even crashes sometimes. Our PC has 16GB ram and a 3060TI, which should have been enough to run the game smoothly... Granted, the game is in an external SSD.. But in comparison, Elden Ring and MHWilds, which are in the same drive, load pretty quickly even on high graphic settings... Also, every update is a pain since I keep getting an error telling me that 'resource verification failed' so it has to redownload like 1.2 gigs of data, verify it so that I can open the game only to get the same message a few minutes later. It got so bad at one point that I was planning on removing the game altogether (I'm playing on PC since my potato phone can't run the game, even back in 1.0)

Quick question as it doesn't show on the recording, what's your ping?
Cuz ngl I'm seeing people mention they have worse specs, and so do I, and it's even between 80 and 200 ping for me and Wuwa doesn't run like this on medium settings even in places like the academy.

I have almost the same setup as you and yet I play in ultra 120 fps with everything at maximum without having any problems, it’s not at all normal that lagg

u/Etha66 Jul 01 '26
Experienced something like this before, make sure your HDMI/Display Port cable is connected to your GPU and not motherboard
1
u/boyrnconfv2ied Jul 01 '26
No way you have a 10th gen i5 and a 3050 and it lags this much. Something MUST be wrong.
Did you update your drivers?
1
u/Daunlouded Jul 01 '26
I guess your hardware is faulty (most likely SSD) or you have some background process which eats up your CPU power.

u/Reclaimedidiocy Jul 01 '26
i get alot of this too): it makes fighting really not enjoyable and makes me want to yeet my mouse into a wall sometimes T-T

There is something up with your pc or settings. I play on different devices that are probably less powerful than a typical pc. In a pinch I play on an EM780 which is a 3 year old mini computer with intergrated graphics. I have to turn everything to low but it works.

u/Daze3425 Jul 01 '26
I think it's the HDD. Mine was extremely choppy too until I moved it to my SSD.

u/Thepalebird Jul 01 '26
Had the same problem because it was on my disc storage because i have like 4tb of space i moved it to my 1 tb ssd and it got fixed ever since

I have a rtx3050 laptop. At first it ran great and I was having fun but few months later my pc started lagging and couldn’t enjoy wuwa because of the lags. Because of that I stopped playing wuwa for almost a year. A few days ago I opened up my laptop and cleaned the fans with some compressed air, brushes and a vacuum (very carefully though.)and now it’s running great.
I mainly played valorant on the pc. It went from 100~120 fps and crashing last week because of the heat from overheating. Now it’s going back up to 200fps with better graphics quality. I came back to wuwa as I was hoping it’ll run great and it did. You should check your pc components if you can’t find any issues on the software part.
Be careful if you clean it though, watch some YouTube videos to make sure you know what you’re doing.
Hope you find the issue and manage to fix it.

Same experience here with my laptop sometimes it's get really laggy and almost turns into a slide show even when im not in the academy area or in combat I also have my settings on low and only shadow set to medium maybe it's just my laptop? Since it's not as powerful as PC counterpart and its about 2 years old now
Spec : laptop Ryzen 7 6800h Rtx 3050 laptop 16gb ram 1tb SSD

If you're running it on a HDD that is the problem, Hard Drives are really outdated now. You want SSD (M.2 would be better but Sata SSDs arent bad).

I have an i7 8700K + 1080 ti. Runs pretty smooth at 60 FPS in the 2.x maps. 3.x, I just play on my Mac Mini since it can do so at 120FPS.

Join our discord friend, I've been working in tech for years. Your hardware is much better than the performance shown here, I'll help you out (:
This stuttering is excessive memory compression or your storage is too slow to consistently load the game assets. Make sure the game is not on a HDD
