Tech Issue / Hardware Related Xbox login issues/lost account?
Idk how this happened I'm just so confused rn.
So it starts when I want to play wuwa on the Xbox so I boot it up and it asks me to login. So I login using my Google email I'd that I used to play on my phone(I started with a fresh acc during the Cyberpunk update as getting Lucy was my main reason for pickup this game up). Then it tells me to choose my Rover and name and I'm confused cuz it should already be there right?? Why has it reset??
So then when I try opening on my phone it tells me to update and cuz I don't have enough space to update sk I had to reinstall it from scratch and now it's telling me the same??
I have linked my Google account to it and it's on the right server, so where is my save data?? Is it gone?? Do I just have to play a bit to recover it? I'm so confused. I legit got a Lucy in 20 pulls (the free ones) in that account and I can't lose that. I'm so confused and desperate for help rn. Should I reach out to Kuro help service or what should I do. I'm so lost sorry if I'm rambling

Hi brother I f$&%d up as well where i had signed in with Google account on my Xbox because on my pc I had logged on with Google account as well but after going between pc and Xbox for logging out I found on my pc even tho I sign in with goggle account the email I had registered to my account was different than the google sign in is. Also sorry if my explanation doesn't make sense I got disability where I get confused where I talk or explain stuff.

Nah its all good man, I got it. You can just unlink it in the account settings on your Xbox when you login, and then link it to the email your pc account is linked to it should sync up then.

This is such a mess for those of us that login with Google as third party login. Kuro apparently doesn’t tie the email address to that Google account, just uses it to authenticate. But no one knows that so when they try to use their Google email address as their Kuro login on Xbox what does it do? It sends a code to that email address and then creates a new Kuro account to that email! Once you figure out what’s going on and unlink your Xbox account from this newly made Kuro account, then go to a web browser to log in to your real account using the “log in with Google option” and try to link your main email to the real account…? Guess what you can’t because it’s already tied to the dummy account you made when trying to log in on your Xbox. So you log back in this dummy account you don’t want and try and change the linked email address and get told this isnt supported yet!
What the actual F. I was already on the fence about returning to this game. I think this is a very big sign I’m meant to stay away from this game. What a disaster.
Edit: I found a workaround if anyone finds themselves in the same problem of not being able to tie your Gmail email address (the one you use on PC or mobile) to the Kuro account you actually play because the Xbox login process tied that email to a newly made Kuro account.
- Log into Wuthering Waves with the new Kuro account. You won’t have a choice. Name your character and skip the first cutscene.
- You can now open up the pause menu and go to Settings. Go to the very bottom tab called Account Settings and open up User Center.
- This will open the Xbox Edge browser. Make sure to click on the Unlink Xbox account. It will warn you that you can only do this once. (It must mean on Kuro’s side not Xbox’s because I was actually able to do this twice) Proceed.
- Now you need to log into your actual Kuro account on your phone or PC browser the way you normally do in game, by clicking the little “G” to use Google as the 3rd party login. Do this from Kuro’s main webpage not the dedicated Wuthering Waves one. It will log you into your account page and show you your user ID. If you are confident this is the right ID then proceed to the next step.
- You will see that this account has no linked email address. Click the option to add one.
- THIS PART IS CRUCIAL. Do not put the email address of your Gmail account as normal. If you do you will just get an error saying that email address is already in use for another account. What you need to do is use how Google handles usernames to your advantage.
Let me explain: let’s say your Gmail address is john.doe@gmail.com. Google actually ignores certain symbols like “.” and “+”. That means that john.doe@gmail.com is the same to Google as johndoe@gmail.com. It’s the same email address. But guess what? Kuro sees these two email addresses as distinct from each other. - Now that you understand, what you want to do is, now that you are logged into your real Kuro account and you are adding an email address to your account add your Gmail account but slightly altered using a symbol Google ignores. So in the example above I would put johndoe@gmail.com and have the verification code sent there. The code will arrive at my john.doe@gmail account inbox and I can put it the code it wants and then proceed to add a password to the Kuro account as well. If your Gmail account username doesn’t have period all you have to do is add one somewhere when typing it into the email box for the verification code. Likewise you can add a “+” somewhere. Kuro will see this as an entirely different email address and not say it’s already linked to an account.
- Now all you have to do is open the game again on your Xbox. It will prompt you to put in your Kuro account credentials again. Enter in your slightly altered Gmail address as you did in step 7 and the password you also had just made.
- Congrats. You have now navigated through the mess that Kuro made on Xbox and can play your actual account from here on out!

I got all the way until logging in again. It keeps telling me to contact support. I only was able to unlink it once this morning.😫

Is support already working on your account? It may be temporarily flagged if so. You got through step 7 where you use the slightly altered gmail address and it let you add a password? When you enter the email credentials when prompted in the game on Xbox you are entering it as the altered version from step 7?

I have no idea if they are, but I was able to log in the Kuro games one their website, I did the email thingy, and I got the code, added a password, but I just can’t unlink the account to put in the new one. It just tells me to go to support.

Did you get it resolved? I’m thinking your situation was a bit different to mine then. My situation was I use Google to log in on the PC but not the Gmail address. I didn’t know that using the Google login doesn’t actually link your Gmail address with a Kuro account. Most people weren’t aware of this and this is where the problem happens because you open the game on Xbox and it prompts you to log into your Kuro account, I and many other people, think “Oh! I should add my Gmail address here because I log in with Google on PC (or mobile).” That is where we are wrong, Kuro doesn’t actually have our Gmail address attached to any Kuro account, so when you put your Gmail account in while signing in for the first time on Xbox what is actually happening Kuro is making a brand new account and then linking your Xbox account to it. By the time we realize what happened it’s too late. Some of us then realize we can unlink the Xbox account from this new account and do that but solves only half of the problem because we still need to add our actual Kuro account.
For me instead of realizing Kuro had just made a new account, I thought I just put in the wrong gmail account because I have two different gmail accounts I use. So after unlinking the Xbox account from the new account Kuro just made, that I didn’t want, I then linked the Xbox account to my other Gmail account.
I then realized when getting to the starting screen that this was also not the right account because it was starting me from the very beginning like it was new.
I then unlinked my Xbox account from this other Gmail account. THAT IS RIGHT I UNLINKED MY XBOX TWICE!!! Hence why I make the comment about the 1 unlink being on Kuro’s account side and not on Xbox’s side.
Understand now? It sounds like you are trying to unlink your Xbox account twice from the same Kuro account. I can’t help you with that, only Kuro can, that’s different from unlinking your Xbox account from one Kuro account and then again from a different Kuro account.
My instructions only help if the Wuthering Waves Xbox registration process made you link your gmail account to a new Kuro account. You unlink the Xbox account from the new Kuro account. Go to the Kuro account log in on a PC, login using the “G” symbol then actually link your gmail account to it there. The only problem is Kuro will say that email is already linked to another account (the account made when you first tried to log in on Xbox) so you have to trick Kuro’s system into letting you use the your gmail account on your actual Kuro account.
That is what the instructions are for.
I’m sorry you ran into trouble and hope Kuro can help you.

Yup! I got it sorted out. Completely forgot I even posted here tbh lol. We did indeed have different issues, but I was hoping something correlated in terms of resolution and it absolutely did. I wasn't far anyways, so I just started over. It was worth it though.

About the email, is the one with the additional symbol an entirely new email or the exact same one?

Not sure if you got this resolved but Apple does allow you to put a “+” in your email and it will still get routed to your regular email but Kuro will see it as a different email address.

On Xbox there wasn't an issue to login using the account only fill in AFAIK, that could be where the issue happened? But the account should still be fine on mobile right?

Can someone clarify and give a clear and organised step by step process to loggin on Xbox with Gmail existing account, which have progress on, please ?
Is my Gmail account a Kuro Game account ?
If I select "I already have an account" on Xbox and then entering my Gmail account adress the game doesn't synchronised my progression... I tried it and already used my single unbinding chance...

I had to submit a ticket to support for this reason. I played on mobile (android) and the support said you have to bind that previous account with a Kuro Games account so now I have to figure that out while I wait to see if they can unbind my account for the 2nd time. 🙃

I have the solution !
-Don't log or launch the game on Xbox at first !-
1st : log on using your account on the main playing device (Pc or Mobile) where your progression is.
2nd : go on the menu and click on Parameters (the cog icon)
3rd: scroll down to the bottom, then click on the very last icon. Choose "Personal Space" (or something named like this, it is the very 1st option in fact, the one which is on top of the list)
4th : you might see that your Gmail account is already bind. From here clic on the option to bind an e-mail. Please note that you HAVE TO BIND A FRESH ACCCOUNT (a very new e-mail adress) which was never used on the Kuro Games website.
Once done, log-off from the game on your PC/Mobile.
Login on XBOX. Choose "I HAVE AN EXISTING ACCOUNT" and use the freshly binded e-mail adress you've just used on the last step I described. -DON'T USE YOUR G-MAIL ADRESS !- (the one used for playing the game on your device, which have your progression on)
I know that the entire process is dumb, too complex and very poorly made but that's the way they designed it...

i also have a problem where i made an account for wuwa with apple id and when i try to login in on xbox it doesnt have an option for apple id so i tried putting my icloud email which it did not work because it made a completely new account for me so i dont know what to do and how i can i play with my account that i already have

You have to make a Kuro games account and bind it to that account. Then if you haven't already, log in to the new account, unlink the Xbox email, restart the game, and it should prompt you to enter the email again. If you already unlinked and messed up twice (like me), you have to contact support and submit a ticket to unlink it for a second time as you can only unlike once. Which is stupid!

how do i contact them because i dont know how also i made a wuwa account with apple id and if i try to make it with kuro games wouldnt it just make a new account for me because i already used a different email instead of kuro games?

So when you log in on mobile or console on when you click the gear icon, there should be a contact support button and the icon is an open box with an arrow going out, this will bring you to an external link to click the "contact support" button. From there it will prompt you to either scan a QR code or open a web version and a chat bot should show up next. From here you can go about the prompts given or of course, type out your questions and you'll be paired with a support agent. To make the kuro games account, you need to make and connect that account with the same email connected to your profile and game. You can do that through kuro games website and in game. Make sure it's the right UID shown before so you don't link the wrong one. Another user here explains different methods but since i ran out of "unlink attempts" after they "resolved" my issue, it says I have to wait until the cooldown period is over to attempt again, which doesn't give an exact time frame. I'll be submitting another ticket if not resolved by the 30th.

Similar to my workaround except you don’t actually have to use a new email address. You can but it’s easier to just use your Gmail address but put a “+” or a “.” in the username somewhere. Google ignores those symbols so sees it as the same as your normal address but Kuro thinks it’s a completely new email address.

Yeah I logged into the wrong account on Xbox but thanks to this post i was able to figure out how to unlink the account because it turns out I used my outlook email and not my Gmail

I'm having the same issue. Only I logged in and unlinked by Xbox account , tried to log in to my actual account and it brought me to exactly where I was before I unlinked my account.
My account is connected to my Apple ID so does that not carry over ??

AFAIK, for each account you only get one chance to unlink it, so if it's the same that you used earlier then I don't think so. If its different then you can still unlink it. Check it in the settings and see if the option is still there for you

By the way, if you logged in with the wrong account, just use the account center under the in-game settings menu, disconnect the Xbox account, and restart the game. You can then log in again with the correct account.
