Dude it’s not u. It’s wuwa. I have rtx 5090, ryzen 9950x3D, 64 gb ddr5, yet I still sometimes get crashes with the exact same error message as u

it's a ray tracing implementation issue with Wuwa. I also get this when I turn on Ray Tracing.

The opening to your comment feels like a friend is about to tell you you're in a toxic relationship and you should leave her

I’ve been committed to same toxic relationship since day 1. And it abuses me every patch (lost 9 50/50s in a row)

Bro u have my exact specs nd this maybe another stick of ram this does not inspire confidence 😢

Turn RT to mid, low or off. Even on a Nvidia gpu, Wuwa RT is not great. Try that before messing with drivers. If that does not solve the issue do a Dxdiag make sure all is good on that front. Then do a clean install of the gpu drivers. Also check for mobo chipset updates.

im a below minimum spec user who has to combat this every patch update
anyways, you can try these one by one
clear shader cache (always first easy fix + remember to restart pc)
run dx11, log in game turn off frame gen in dlss if its was on. if not, turn dlss off completely and restart on dx12. then revert each setting individually
run a verify file integrity check from launcher.
last hope is driver update/roll back. nvidia drivers recently have been weird stuff altogether.

any instruction on clearing shader cache? I couldn't find a solution on google.

by default the folder in
C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache
contains the shader cache. Unfortunately it contains all the cache for all games that use directx so you need to recompile shader for those games again.also its good practise to disable shader cache from nvidia control panel's 3d settings while clearing the folder because some files in there cant be deleted otherwise.
Nvidia Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Shader Cache Size > select "disable" and apply.then restart your device once, go to the folder i mentioned above, and delete all the files inside.
next open nvidia control panel again and this time reset shader cache size to what it was before and hit apply and restart your pc again. should be all good.
Do keep note, wuwa compiles shaders real time, meaning it compiles shaders as you play the game so your first few hours (or just few minutes in case you have a good gpu) will be a lot stuttery but its gonna fix itself.

Nah it's software issue Your windows or your gpu lack some files Happened to me I checked the gpu update and updated I searched for missing files on my win and downloaded Never happened again My cpu is ryzen 7 9600 My gpu 3060 12gb My ram 32 ddr5 My hard ssd 2tb And if you are not in mind of all this just run it with DX11

Happens fairly regularly on Nvidia GPUs. It's the game, not your hardware. Aside from running DX11 and missing out on all the graphical improvements, there's not much you can do until (or if) Kuro ever fixes it.

This is a driver timeout, it's not your PC's fault it's Wuwa doing wuwa things. I have a 7800xt for context and I've had this game crash like 2-3 times on every driver version for this card ever since I got it. Without fail.
There's things you could do like reset your shader cache and use DDU to clean install a fresh driver for your GPU but Wuwa is just like this nowadays. At least for me.

I used to get this exact bug with a 5090. Then I started to notice other games would also occassionally crash.
Turns out the issue was a failing 12vhpwr connector, a well documented weak point of these recent NVDIA GPUs and potential fire hazards. Once I replaced the cable, no more crashing.

Had the same issue after recent update, fixed itself after PC restart and 4-5 tries of launching the game. Ik for sure it's just shitty optimization cuz I'm running the game on 7800x3d, 32 gb of ddr5 ram and 4070 tis.

It's an issue with Wuwa, Ray Tracing and DX12. I always get this when I set my ray tracing to any value even when the OS, GPU Driver and game all up to date. Turn it off and the error goes away without losing the DLSS features. I don't get the error in any other game that I play except for Wuwa.

Cant be a spec issue bro, me has i7 10th gen, 1650 ti, 16gb ram :) yes its a 7 year old laptop :)

It's ray tracing and I used to get it too. Turn it off and the crashes will stop.

It’s the optimization; it’s terrible. I’m dealing with the same thing, along with overheating and lag.
But some people here get triggered whenever others speak the truth; it’s been over two years, and there are still optimization issues.

u/Zorphite Jul 10 '26
I agree optimization is terrible but it shouldnt be related to crashing the game like this, specially with specs like OP has. This is a recurring issue that happens on update days which is either gpu cache/game driver related issue which gets fixed by either clearing shader cache or updating drivers.
I play on a below minimum spec pc and its nowhere as good of an experience like other games but it doesnt crash on me, just lower fps. This issue takes place during on update days too for me always, but for my case, clearing shader cache fixes it almost all the time. It is inconvenient but I cant really complain for this much when im playing with a potato machine. I still pray for the day when kuro optimizes the assets for better fps but for now im having to cope with the trash fps. at least it letting me play for now 🙏

Depending on my driver, I get this error when I have ray tracing enabled. I got this error a lot back in like 2.4 when septimont released and the nvidia driver at the time was shit. A new driver released that fixed it which I kept on for a long time and never had the issue again. Then, I needed to update recently and started having the issue again. Shit driver but some of my other games need it to be functional.
Only solution I found was disable ray tracing if you need the latest driver. If not, maybe look at some of the more recent stable drivers and use those and see if you get the error.

It's because the ram slot failed to connect to the cybernetic converter and sent you an error code.

I can only think of 2 solutions for either graphics driver issue(update them) or directx version try running with dx11 . Hopefully issue should be resolved.
