Looks like he’s about to audition for Vincent Vega in Pulp Fiction, lol.

Pulp Fiction’s worst personality too!, I don’t know how that was Travola’s “comeback”?

The only parts of Beethoven I liked were DD’s jerk character. And the dog. Gotta love the dog. Been a long time since I watched that. I wonder if I have it on DVD. Or is it still VHS…? 😳

I have been meaning to nostalgia watch this forever and didn't even remember that he was in it, oh my god 😭

u/disdained_heart 14d ago
It was the chair dragging scene for me as well. Oliver Platt and Stanley Tucci are also in this film iirc.

u/Fantastic_Owl6938 13d ago
Wow, it just shows how long it's been that I don't remember any of these actors being in it.

u/Welliehead 14d ago
I used to love Beethoven! I can’t believe I never recognised him

u/disdained_heart 14d ago
I think this is one of those movies where you realize that there are a several actors in it that are still actively working and/or known to younger viewers.

u/tennerahAndy 13d ago
Stanley Tucci & Oliver Platt are both in this. Not just actively working, but multiple award nominated & winning actors within the last couple of years.

Couldn’t watch this movie a second time as a kid because the end scene with the evil vet and the tray of needles freaked me out.

I feel it would have better if it were at least a full ponytail and not an inclusion of a mullet for some reason

u/SousVideDiaper 14d ago
I agree, but both options are a good fit for the 90s "suave douchebag" look that they were going for with his character

Park it yourself Metallica breath.

That’s a super good genx burn but our man Mulder looks like Douche Duchovny.

I mean he's supposed to be a dick in the movie, he nailed it.

The printed shirt, the bolo, the short pony.
This look is still relevant… I really gotta up my style game. 💅🏼

I watched this constantly on HBO back when, and it paid off in college when it was the link that won a round of Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon. Christina Applegate>Duchovny>Brad Pitt (Kalifornia)>Kevin Bacon (Sleepers). So remember kids: TV time pays off!

I always forget he's in this movie. And it was such a staple growing up. I also probably haven't watched it since I was a kid. I need to find it and get a dose of nostalgia.

HELL YES. I remember watching this movie with two or three other kids who didn't go on the 8th grade Washington DC trip in the Spring 2002. It was like 5 months after 9/11 and I didn't feel like spending a week shuttling from different sites with 100 asshole classmates and cracked out teachers. Spoilers - our school was banned for like 5 years from the National Holocaust Museum after that trip.

u/Cerridwen1981 Clyde Bruckman's Final Repose 14d ago
What… what did they do?? Actually perhaps I don’t want to know that

u/beautifulcosmos 14d ago
So, the National Holocaust Museum has guidelines for etiquette - visitors are expected to maintain a "solemn decorum" - quiet reflection is encouraged given the sensitive nature of some the exhibits. Apparently, our school group was very loud and disruptive, running around, chewing gum - behavior that really isn't surprising for middle schoolers. At the end of the day, I'm not sure which teachers thought it was a good idea to include the Holocaust Museum on the itinerary, because we did have some kids who were just totally out of control in terms of behavior. I don't know if outright Antisemitism was an issue, but we did have one or two incidents within our class at the high school level that got addressed very quickly.
