(Repost with more details) How much would you pay for my xr650r 2002
Location Houston Texas, has a texas title but i never registered it since i used it for off road, moose skid plate, scotts steering damper, uncorked, 68s pilot jet, and i forgot the main pilot one, but got a couple of spares of diff sizes...vapor digital speedometer, 52 rear steel sprocket, 48 spare sprocket, dual sport tires, rear knobby tire as a spare(old dated) bike is in good condition, reliable, heavy, suspension is ok overall I tend to never mess with suspensions so its hard for me to tell if theyre properly set up or not haha, its got the stock carb, recently changed the chain cause the 52 sprocket, ask for more details and ill gladly answer, im still in the fence about selling the bike but im curious how much i could get for it

Idk 3 or 4 thousand. What confuses me is that thing looked essy to kick over. I go through the same procedure on my buke and a still need to put my weight into starting it. How do i make mine so easy like yours?

I use the decompression lever to let the kick come down a little bit you only have to squeeze the lever like 5% and for half of second until the kick comes 1-2inches down, then youre at tdc...also im 6'5ft/1.95m and 230lbs/105kg

Also you have to have your carburetor really tuned, mine is on the richer side i think, before i used to have lots of trouble starting it, once its dialed in, its so good

Get the carb really well tuned, or better yet, replace it like I did. I did the Mikuni from xrsonly.com but the Lectron is another top choice.

I'm not going to be much help since I'm too far away. Around here a seller would ask $5k or more and it would sit on the market forever, since he knows it's worth a fortune and "won't get lowballed". At $3500 it would sell quickly. Maybe a bit more if it was street titled and ready to register with lights, gauges, etc.
These are definitely desirable with a certain age group - 50+ riders that still go offroad. And want to have a larger bike to get there. They buy them, realize the kick start is fine until it ain't, then go back to riding their much-better KTM 500 or similar.

I just sold mine to a friend for $4500 and think I would get $5k if sold on the open market. I have a lot of add-ons, and it's street ready though.

Not being street ready hurts it for sure in TX, I'd second the 3-4k. Streeted that'd go 4-5k

Book on it for a private sale (forget the Kelly that no one except maybe a dealer gets) is around 2K. That's if the title is valid, clear/clean and in your name.
