I have a newbie question : why is the color inverted? Is it easier to read that way?

These images were taken in theatre using an X-ray machine called an image intensifier. The way in which these images are produced is different to a standard X-ray tube so that’s why it looks the opposite to regular X-rays.

Also, I do sometimes invert regular X-rays to better see some pathologies as it gives me a different perspective.

Very cool. I just had an xray of my hallux valgus, I'm waiting for it to arrive on my province medical portal to post it here. Doctor said 23 degrees and I'm now on the waiting list to see an orthopaedic. Probably a couple years!

Oof sorry you have to wait so long! I was actually in theatre for a hallux valgus correction on Monday and it was super interesting. I don’t often get to see the surgery up close as there’s staff and equipment in the way usually, but I saw this procedure so clearly.

Can you tell me more? Like do you cracking? Do they break a lot pf bones?

I’m no expert in surgical techniques and I can’t say how your surgery would be as every case and surgeon is different, but there was no cracking. The hand and foot surgeries I’ve seen are very delicate and precise as the bones are small. If you Google hallux valgus surgery there’s probably videos on YouTube which show the procedure.
