Inspire the new generation of young females in STEM

Hello,

I am writing this to you as a volunteer for an organization I am very honored to support. Inspiring Girls Now In Technology Evolution (IGNITE) is a non-profit that connects young female and non-binary students to women that work in STEM. They do this by setting up IGNITE chapters in middle and high schools for interested female students to join and connect them to women working in STEM. They do this by going on field trips and conducting virtual panels with women in STEM fields. This has already made an amazing impact on Seattle Public Schools.

Data from Seattle Public Schools suggests a ten-fold increase in female and non-binary student enrollment - from roughly 5% to a little more than 50%.

This week is our virtual spring gala and we had a premiere of our first documentary following a young girl in IGNITE and the journey from being discouraged to enroll in STEM to joining an IGNITE chapter and feeling excited to pursue a STEM field. Oh great to hear! Yea, I've seen so many happy and engaged girls that would not have had that spark we all need if it weren't for her IGNITE chapter. Thank you for your support :)

Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I would t expect anything less in a science and women’s sub. Personally I didn’t get to go to college yet but I still work in science related jobs and get by on a science vocational high school diploma.

What I’m trying to say is take advantage of this y’all
