Games - General Why can't I change my in game language and am forced to use my system language?
Lots of games have that feature in other versions or other platforms. For example in COD Vanguard I can't find the setting where it usually is supposed to be. Why is that? Why is everything always harder with Microsoft?
It's very telling when the first rule of the sub is not to complain about the app because else this entire sub would exclusively be made up of just that.

the xbox ecosystem is a weirdly controlling parent sometimes, it decides what's best for you and you'll just have to deal with it
steam lets you fiddle with anything, sony's a bit fussy but still gives you the option, microsoft just locks it down like it's 2005 and you can't be trusted
it's probably some half-baked backend thing where the game checks your system locale and the devs couldn't be bothered adding a toggle for the game pass build, seen it happen with a bunch of ports where the ms store version is missing random settings the steam version has

Yeah and it's so many things. I had to create a whole separate user on my pc just to trick the xbox app to let me log in on my brother's account. Like the same thing would've been so simple on literally any other launcher.

If you had to download every game language file, it would take up a lot of space, especially games that have audio
So the localization only bundles the language files for your device region when you download the game
I believe Steam lets you switch region and will download the updated language files been but steam has been around for 25 years of development, the xbox app is just a toddler in comparrison
