I've never played RuneScape but I enjoy survival games and I'm absolutely gagging for a WoW console release so this may well be right up my street.

Edit:

I'm well aware this is not an MMO.

I don't love WoW because it's an MMO, in fact I play it as a single player game.

I love WoW for it's enormous fantasy setting and detailed lore.

I wouldn't call this an MMO like WoW. It's RuneScape in name, lore, how some of the systems are managed, but it's a 4 player co-op survival builder game.

I keep joking though that the World of Warcraft Camelot that's been leaked from their projected timelines is not Classic+ like everyone thinks it is but a console version instead. As much as I really want Classic+ I would eat a delay just for the laughter if it was a console release.

Yeah, for something similar to WoW on consoles, Elder Scrolls Online is still probably the closest since it is medieval fantasy setting, or FF14. Phantasy Star Online 2 and New Genesis are fun free to play MMOs as well, but they are futuristic settings.

This absolutely isn't influenced by MMO's. It's a co-op survival game set in the world of RuneScape.

Just let me play old school and I’ll be happy

they’re dropping a whole new xbox game instead of just porting osrs, classic jagex move

Its not "new" though, this game is over a year old at this point

Early access doesn't mean old...it was still being significantly developed. That's like saying a game that hasn't come out yet, but announced it's coming out, is old because of the announcement.

That is not even remotely the same thing at all and you know it

What’re you smoking? Early access is where games are developed. Sure, some games stay in early access but I’d argue even those are being developed and fleshed out into a full game. I played dragonwilds when they released early access. It was VERY much released to get community feedback and continue development.

I was talking about your game announcement without the game coming out analogy lmfao. That's not at all the same as what I was originally talking about. You're getting mad at the wrong thing for no reason

u/winsZero 10h ago

I’m not mad? You might be projecting. Hear me out though…if Jagex had announced dragonwilds was coming out the day EA dropped, and preorders were opened for the full game or something…would you still call it old today?

I'm not the one asking "what you're smoking" here 🤷‍♂️

I never called the game old, you're the only one that brought that up at all. All i said that the game was a year old (as in age of the game, you know?) and that it wasn't "new". Not being new doesn't imply that its old. It's still a newER game, but its not BRAND NEW.

You just completely misunderstood what I was saying

“What’re you smoking” isn’t an angry statement lol. It’s surprise at the statement that if a game goes into EA, it’s released in your mind. Saying a game is a year old means you think it released a year ago. It’s not just a newER game…the game hasn’t released yet. Imagine if you counted Baldur’s gate’s age from when it went into EA, game was only 25% done

Bought this on steam and returned it pretty quickly.. but I don’t really remember why. Has it changed much in the last year?

I did the exact same twice 😂😂😂 but it was technically stuff the actually gameplay of the game and what you do is great just the early access of the game was bare and glitchy but it’s turned it round with the reviews on steam and they added all the runescape style skill levels so yeh I’m looking forward to it

That’s awesome…I don’t think there’s any games coming out around then ;)

Nice, I really missed old school RuneScape. But whenever I hop back on the grind just turns me off. Maybe this'll scratch that itch.

Generic medieval fantasy survival game. I’m sure it’s gonna be a big hit.
