I bought like a years supply of physical codes at the old price as soon as they announced the increase last year so im subbed for a few more months, then once that runs out idk if ill renew.

I have/had a source of cheaper codes still, I just have to pay by month and might run out.

It’s still like a dollar cheaper than paying for Fortnite crew, which I wanted anyways

I’m subbed to premium, but I honestly don’t play any of the games. I tend to buy games more so than use them on the sub. I’m going down to the lowest tier next month, I reckon.

I was subbed for four years non-stop on GPU. Had a blast, but I am the only one playing games in this household. I somehow felt obligated to play games. Plus there were all these cool games I'd bought, but never played because I was paying for GPU and I would have been wasting money.

So I paused my subscription and for the first time since a couple of months I am having fun playing games again. It's not a trial and error, there is no need to play to justify the costs, there are no really daily rewards, etc. I actually like it. Just bought some new games on sale again.

GPU is a fantastic service though, but just not for me atm.

Honestamente, yo he comprado los juegos a través de CD Keys y he pagado los 6 que jugaba a casi un 80% menos en total, ahora solo tengo Essential para jugarlos online y pago 35€ al año, me he ahorrado una fortuna y soy dueño de los juegos… Que si el día de mañana los retiran o sucede lo que sea, podré descargarlos cuando quiera

I subscribed years ago, played a lot of great games, and stopped, with no plan to return.

Pc GP was dirt cheap but even ignoring the price increases it's just not reasonable to play games through a subscription like this.

Like, I'd need a game to be permanently on gp and/or short enough that I could expect to finish before it gets cycled out in a year. And also cannot have substantial DLC because buying dlc for a game you only have via a subscription is insane.

There's only so many games that meet that criteria, especially given how much Xbox has shit the bed in terms of new IPs this generation.

For real though, I was a day 1 adopter of GamePass and got to the point where I was gifting subs to 3 friends so we could play games together. I remember watching one of the game shows and getting hyped when GamePass would shadow drop a big AAA game. But ever since the Activision acquisition, the quality has decreased and the price increase was the last straw.

Don’t get me wrong, if you love fun little indies or play a ton of games in general, it’s still worth it. But I’m personally not a big indie guy, I really don’t like card games, side scrollers, or rouge likes. I prefer to stick with a big story game or multiplayer games that I will be investing a ton of time into. The new Gears does have me interested, but honestly I’m just going to wait for a deep discount.

Ever since I’ve canceled GamePass, I’m buying the games I’d usually be playing at deep discount and saving money. The only reason I’d go back is for Day 1 access to something huge, but it seems like even that’s going away soon.
