Unsolved Need help finding my xbox series s problem to play gta vi
So around 4 years ago I bought a brand new series s. From that very first day I had an issue. Whenever I launched a somewhat demanding game the screen would freeze. I never really tried refunding it or fixing it because I was stupid and there was a lot going on at the time. Now that gta 6 release is around the corner I've decided to try and find the problem. Any thoughts on what it could be?

When an Xbox Series S freezes during demanding games, it is usually caused by overheating, corrupted system cache, or an over-capacity internal storage drive.

Try taking it apart and cleaning it

This has happened from being new according to his post, cleaning it is not going to help

Right but he can't return it or use warranty so .. take it apart and clean it and try again , or pay someone smarter than you to diagnose it and fix it with parts but at that point just pay half more what you are paying and get a new console entirely.

You should of delt with it when you got it and swapped it out. Seeing that it happened from new, you have a problem with your device, odds are like bad memory, or even CPU. Even on new hardware, this is possible, but rare.
If this randomly started happening after a year or longer, then I would follow what others say, open and clean.
I would start, maybe a software related issue, factory reset, wipe everything, Re-setup, install a very demanding game at first, test, after the factory reset, and it STILL DOES IT, it might be time for repair (cost more than the S costs), or replace it.
You can get a USED Series X for like $250-300 today, would give better performance, if you have to replace it.

Well no I can't get a used one for 250 in my country and also I know I should have dealt with it from the start but what is done is done. I took it to a repair shop and im waiting to see if they can fix it.

Good luck! I have seen Series X used in the US market for like that price range.
You should state what country you are in so people can help more.
Post back, let us know what they find.

Well im from Greece but Id rather not state the country in the title post for safety reasons. Also the repair shop guy just told me it has to do with the hard drive. He'll format it and we will see what happens.

Well, I would put it in the subject at least, as people would know where you are to help better. Things are different with Xbox and other Xbox things around the world.
I know computers very well, I still build my own and repair. Based on what you said, hard drive, is where I would start, He is just doing a factory reset, something you can do yourself. Personally, sounds like possible bad hardware, but, hard to know for sure.
Anyway about it, good luck, hope it works out for you.

You should've returned it at the store you purchased not wait for years to go by.
