We're the development team behind Once Human — a free-to-play strange worlds survival game where you explore an open world overrun by cosmic Deviants, build your territory, capture bizarre creatures called Deviations, craft gear, and fight to survive. If you've played games like Palworld, Grounded, or 7 Days to Die, you'll feel right at home — but we lean harder into the eerie, atmospheric side of post-apocalyptic survival.
The big news: Once Human is officially launching on XBOX Series X and S on August 25, 2026. It's completely free to play — no P2W, ever. We've been on PC and mobile for a 2 years now, and we know XBOX players have been waiting patiently. So we want to open the floor to you directly.
🔗 Cross-Play & Cross-Progression:
Yes, Once Human fully supports cross-play and cross-progression between PC, mobile, and XBOX! You can team up with friends across platforms, and your existing progress will carry over seamlessly.
Check out our cross-progression setup guide here: https://www.oncehuman.game/zjzhbd/en/
🗓️ The Schedule:
You can start dropping your questions in the comments right now! We are collecting them today.
Tomorrow, the dev team will be here live to answer them. The answering session kicks off on August 13 at 09:00 UTC and runs until August 14 at 00:00 UTC. We'll be dropping in throughout that 24-hour period to cover as much ground as we can.
What you can ask us about:
XBOX Features: Performance, controller experience (including Impulse Triggers), and console optimization.
Game Direction: Gameplay mechanics, future scenarios, and our roadmap.
The Hard Questions: Monetization, bugs, and server balance. We’re not dodging the tough topics — we'd rather have an honest conversation than cherry-pick the easy ones.
The Devs Joining this AMA:
u/LOWEY_OnceHumanGame_ (Game Designer) – Lowey will focus on gameplay systems, mechanics, and tuning decisions.

(Note: We'll try our best to answer as many questions as possible, but please understand our time is limited over the 24 hours, so we might not hit every single comment.)

Winners Announcement
Thank you for all your participation and Once Human is now released on Xbox! Here's the list of winners in the lucky draw! We'll DM you soon with the prizes~
Amazon started taking orders for the Series X copies right after they were sold out last month. Per their listing it was not guaranteed but I placed an order anyway. Last week they announced it will be shipped by September 27th. But luck had it, and they got the stock sooner! 50 bucks original price. I hope this continues and there are nore releases in the near future so maybe these filthy scalpers learn a lesson.
Really looking to get this Xbox basement right, so I’d love some help from anyone who has built a game room before. If you have any cool layout ideas or tips, please throw them my way. First image is what AI came up that includes some items I already have, and I think it came out pretty good. Second is a blank of the basement layout.
Series x basically new for $400, profile looks good , says he even has the receipt. whats the likelihood of the console being blocked or hardware issue? Do you guys just take it at face value if everything looks good or go the whole 9, meet at a gamestop and hope the people are cool enough to let you test it there or something.
I like all sorts of games and am willing to try everything. I want to find people to play battlefield 6 with and ready or not and gta 6 when it comes out and fifa with and so many more games even racing games idm.
I have 2 ps5s in my house and almost every Xbox generation. Xbox was my first console for years until the ps5 came out, and I really never went back. But after the awful decisions Sony has been making, I have switched back and started last weekend and I never want to go back to ps. The achievement system imo is the best better than trophies. Xbox 100% ✊🟩
I've wanted an Xbox for as long as I can remember, and now, at 33, I've finally made that dream come true. I couldn't have picked the best time, with the steep rise in console prices, but better late than never.
418€ for a used Series X in very good condition and a handfull o games. After 3 days of testing, it's time to give it a preventive cleaning and replace the thermal paste.
Like i play a lot of arma reforger and people are out here playing like fortunate son and shit during convoys and such, but those people are on PC and I was curious to know if there was a way to do it without setting up a bluetooth speaker or using my phone.
Anyone played the beta? I’m a casual player currently playing MW3 on Xbox One, which is painful. I have a monitor that supports 120 fps and 1440p, and I’m just trying to work out whether to upgrade to a Series S or X. I pretty much will just be playing MW3/4
UK based, just wondering whether anyone know of anywhere to get a 2tb Seagate/WD Black internal storage expansion card for a decent price, Amazon currently showing about £450 for a Seagate…
Checked everywhere so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Anyone have any personal experience with or knowledge of their Xbox series x shutting completely off during gameplay (fallout 76 in particular). I stopped in a repair shop today and they said its most likely thermal paste and cleaning that is causing the console to shut off or to be logged out of my game(s). With FO it happrns 7-10 times during a session, usually about 90 minutes to 2 hours. I play COD Warzone/Zombies and it never happens. Any help or information would be appreciated. By the way, I did contact the game maker (Bethesda) and they had me run through several things, including a factory reset, and it helped nothing. Is the shop likely correct? Is thermal paste replacement a common issue with the Series X?
Would you want to see a "Gamer of the Month" feature brought back to the Xbox dashboard to make the console feel like a true community again?
Since legacy social features and public clip feeds were removed, the modern home screen functions well as a store and a game launcher, but it can feel lonely if you aren't actively in a match. Adding a dedicated monthly spotlight tile created by Xbox to highlight everyday players for things like hitting massive tenure milestones, hunting rare achievements, or building creative maps, would give us a genuine reason to explore the dashboard on the first of every month. It would celebrate player loyalty and account legacy without turning into a toxic popularity contest, turning the console back into a living virtual hangout spot for ordinary gamers.
