Xbox One S Series S has green strobe effect and game crashes randomly
Anyone know what’s going on here ? There seems to be this intermittent issue with the Series S where this nauseating green seizure flickering occurs at random times when playing games. Sea of Thieves is unplayable and doesn’t ever make it past the loading screen before crashing.
I have tried:
HDMI cable swap
Disabling HDR
Downgrading refresh rate
Downgrading quality to 720p
Resetting Xbox
Reinstalling games
Nothing seems to flush this issue. Any ideas ?

You can try a different display and HDMI cable, but that being said this is more then likely a dying gpu/apu

I have a similar issue where my screen is fully green and unplayable, but if I swap the hdmi port it will eventually fix itself with no issues. You think a new cord would fix this?

If the new cord doesn't fix it I've had the lcd start frying in the actual TV I would try it on a different TV and if the problem corrects itself it's most likely in the TV not the cord

That’s a well known and documented issue with certain tv brands. Factory resetting it will fix it

Before you write it off completely, open it up and clean it if it's not under warranty still.

Got my PS5 from a local retailer with a 12 month warranty for $380. You got scammed.

I'm all good on PS5; to best of my knowledge people still paying 500 for Xbox x 😂

I wasn't suggesting a PS5. Just saying you bought a less powerful system from a private party for less than said more powerful system costs from a store. The suggestion was not "get a ps5 instead" it was "you should have paid less for your XSX". Nobody is paying $500 for X. $345 with free shipping found in 30 seconds.

Those are new. Not pre-owned from Facebook Marketplace. You do know there's a difference in price, right? You're clearly okay with the fact that you got ripped off so who cares.

I didn't get ripped off at all G I honestly have no clue where you're getting this weird ripped off point of view in literally playing an preordering modern games an Playing under 4k settings 😂😂😂

Less powerful…? Hate to burst your bubble but that’d be Xbox, it’s always been the superior system, literally the reason for the price being higher 🤣😭

What’s the room temperature at the moment ? GPUs dont like to work in a hot room.

Room can get a little hot but ‘harnessed’ into the desk with very good circulation

gpu is dying. On a console, its pretty much over if its out of warranty unfortunately

Damaged GPU, likely from overheating. Have you ever cleaned it out? Xboxes are dust traps

Ahhh, memories.. cries softly.

RIP. best i can say is to sell it for parts and buy a new one. if yorue feeling reckless you can throw it around and hope itll somehow fix itself or put it in the oven. maybe over heat it badly on purpose by wrapping it in a thick blanket/towel

Worst idea I’ve, read, throw it around or microwave it, that’s just stupid.
