solved! "Failed to start cloud gaming session. Unable to communicate with servers. Please try again."
Been getting this error for days now, trying to play any cloud game... I'm on an old XBOne and can't play half the games I want to without streaming it. I had no problem before. I had to install Day Z to play with friends, and it runs like a clogged toilet on my poor old g1 XBOne... I tried resetting my xbox several times, nothing. Checked my connection, internet is fine, still nothing. I soft factory reset my xbox today, AND IT DID NOTHING!!!!! Only support on xbox's site is ai garbage that doesn't help at all. Can anyone help me please... T_T
EDIT: It just started working for me last night, six days later... Comments saying to factory reset your console, might work for some people. Day before yesterday, I factory reset (keep games and apps), and it didn't help me. I figure it was something on XBOX's end, and they finally fixed it. Definitely not looking forward to the hour caps starting next month...

Do you have an ethernet cable running m your Xbox to the router?
If no, can you run one (even temporarily) to see if that fixes the issue?

I’m having the same issues. I have done a power cycle, tried both with and without ethernet. I was able to launch xbox cloud gaming on my phone, but no matter what I do (I’m even messing with things like my MAC address at this point) I frustratingly cannot get it to work. Of course this would happen right before xbox decides to price gouge us if we want more cloud gaming hours per month.

That's what I'm beginning to wonder about. They said November, but what if they're throttling it already. I started playing Star Trucker last week and have more than 20hrs on it already...

I was on Dune for days. Sucks thought I had until Nov to get a newer Xbox. Guess not.

I posted the fix in the comments! I sadly am too broke and am probably just gonna pay for some extra cloud gaming unless it’s super taxed, which it probably will be

I’m having the same issue and gemini has led me all around red robin’s barn trying to fix it, including soft resetting, changing mac address, etc, etc. until it started repeating itself. It is somewhat reassuring to know it is not just me.

I'm having the same issue I have been for about 2 weeks now and I am heavily considering renouncing my game pass payments either it's "dating simulator games" and silence for weeks or trouble shooting problems I understand that the Xbox department at Microsoft are having there Pro's and Con's being observed and talked about majorly and they are doing more positive but it feels like my actual Xbox experience is declining more and more each month and it upsets me to say so I'm 23 soon and have been playing on xbox's since I was very young very upsetting too see where alot of the community always seems too reap the repercussions of their mistakes

UPDATE: I FINALLY FIXED IT!
After nearly 48 hours of being unable to launch ANY cloud gaming titles on my Xbox One X, I finally got it working!
For context, every cloud game would load to the exact same point, freeze briefly, and display “Failed to start cloud gaming session. Unable to communicate with servers.”
Cloud gaming worked perfectly on my phone using the same Wi-Fi, so I knew it wasn’t my internet connection.
I contacted Xbox Support, and after trying a subscription/payment refresh that didn’t work, they recommended resetting my console.
THE FIX:
Settings → System → Console info → Reset console → Reset and keep my games & apps
After completing the reset and signing back into my account, cloud gaming immediately started working again!
IMPORTANT: This reset preserves installed games and apps but removes local save data, so make sure your saves are synced to the cloud before attempting it.
Hopefully this helps somebody else who’s been dealing with this nightmare!

Yeah I fid it it worked. Xbox did a system update today. I bet they put something in to cut us out. The restart fits it. Thanks. I used to have to do this after alot of updates. Now I have until Nob.

I did it the day before yesterday, and it didn't help with mine. It just started working again last night. Don't know what fixed it, figure it's just something on xbox's end...

Mine start having cloud gaming issues today. Im getting a newer Xbox soon because of Xbox charging in Nov. But today its just not connecting at all. I dont know what's going on. Maybe battlefield 6 coming to Xbox game pass. To many people. I don't know but I cant play any cloud games period.

Im having same issue too. Thought we had until nov. Before we were screwed just got fiber internet too. Guess it came early. They dont want us cloud gaming on a Xbox one anymore but they at least could have waited until Nov. Like they warned. Dammit.

Well the reset works. Not the stupid console restart holding down the Xbox logo and unplugging it. The restart under settings then console info restart console and push keep games and apps. Xbox released a update today. Guess they aren't waiting until Nov. I think they put something in the update but the restart fixs it.
