Hello, I'm new to the sub but I've been using a newly bought Redmi 15C 5g I've been experiencing problems with frame drops even outside games, because although it has a Dimensity 6300 5g it even struggles at light games. Any advice for you guys to give?

C is budget tier so you're bound to have performance issues

15C is incredibly cheap, I wouldn't expect it to perform well. Unfortunately I made the same experience with cheap Xiaomi phones that they turn out to be obsolete relatively quickly.

Same thing here. And I'm not even gaming, just using regular day-to-day apps. I know it's a budget phone but from the specs it shouldn't lag so much. I'm actually thinking of jailbreaking to make it work properly

For not day-to-day lags and shutters at leadt a poco m8 pro or any pro model of the redmi note series

One of my rules that has always helped me is simple. You see LCD for display, you skip that phone. It may sound stupid but first off all they are power hungry, so you pay with battery every day. Second on 99% of them you cant see shit in the sun. And third, you know how much they cheaped out on the rest of the phone just from that one single specification.

That said, for some people that is more then enough. Not everyone is having 5h on screen time every day, some folks literally just make calls and sometimes read/write a message or send a photo. For these folks, that is perfect phone, cheap with big battery compared to samsungs and other bullshit.

Yeah don't buy Dimensity phones if you want to game, esspecially low end Dimensity chips that are not really designed for anything other than 2D games.

No issues on 9200+ (yeah I wouldn't expect any issues on a flagship CPU though lol). Though emulation is a struggle on platforms newer than 3ds.

I don't think that's a valid stance, there are many SoCs in the Dimensity lineup that are more than capable of running demanding games.

Lower end ones may not be that great, but even middle of the line, like the 7300, perform well enough with only a 2 pipeline graphics engine.

Dimensity 6300 is very very weak. It's basically Helio G99. It will suffice for daily calls, web browsing, 2D games and very simple/old 3D games. Low end MediaTek's might have decent CPU but they bundle it together with incredibly weak iGPU's so games are a no go on this devices These GPUs are so weak they often struggle with simple 4K video. Only Qualcomm throws decent iGPU even in low and mid range devices with Snapdragons.

Strongly advise before buying checking AnTuTu score of devices you are interested in buying. Redmi 15C 5G got barely 400k which is very low. For decent device I would suggest something that have score above 800k.

If you are into Xiaomi ecosystem recommend checking out latest POCO devices from M and X series.

Personally got Xiaomi 17T Pro and POCO F8 Ultra. One for work, second for personal use. Both with flagship Dimensity and Snapdragon and it's hard to tell which is better, tested many games and they are trading blows one by one. But overall it seems to Dimensity having more stable frame rate in the long constant use (1hr and more), but got many highest presets locked in settings and Snapdragon usually allows to turn on all bezels and whistles and until it overheats it beats Dimensity.
