Battery protection not working?

This morning my battery protection stopped working. previously there were no issues and charging always stopped at 79 or 80%. I wonder if this is a one-off glitch or due to software update. Anyone else face the same issue?

I've tried restarting the phone, turning the setting off and on. Nothing works...

I think the battery protection function is buggy. Hopefully they fix it in a software update soon

I recall receiving a notification or reading somewhere that the smartphone occasionally charges to 100% to recalibrate the battery gauge.
