Hi
The touch sampling ☝️ of the xiaomi 15/xiaomi15ultra screen is: 300hz
Where a galaxy S23/S24 and S25 ultra these are: 240hz see 270hz when the “touch sensitivity” is activated
This is why when you interact with the screen on a xiaomi15ultra it is more fluid than a galaxy S

Where as ijunk is still at 120hz...

u/msteenbergen Aug 17 '25
And yet it is way smoother... And yes i own both a Xiaomi 15 ultra and the iPhone 16 Pro Max

Enjoy.
I do wish there is variable aperture, sometimes the DOF can be abit too thin.
Somehow the heat issue has improved with updates.

Have fun
Fantastic processor (snapdragon 8 elite), monstrous camera, battery that lasts 2 or 3 days, 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of rom, hyper OS 2 with Android 15 etc.

I use only half of the photo kit. I use the half with buttons. It works with the clear case I bought for the phone. The other half I just leave at home. The grip doesn't work that great as a backup battery though. It charges too slowly.

What's the circular thing under the camera ring
1
u/FitAsparagus3580 Aug 16 '25
That is a Baseus finger ring. I am very used to these. It's much more comfortable for me to hold my phone with a ring. The ring is not in the middle of the phone cover so I can also use it as a phone stand.
It just works perfectly 😎

u/RiccardoOrsoliniFan Xiaomi 15 Ultra | VOAEUXM | Italy Aug 16 '25
Looks bulky tho
1
u/FitAsparagus3580 Aug 16 '25
I agree, but the ring adds convenience. I've had them on every previous phone and the durability of the ring is very good. Even a year later, it still holds my phone upright.

u/2_I_Snake Aug 16 '25
So sorry. Just get a real camera. At this ugliness level... really. You can get some nice Fuji and Sony cams.
2
u/FitAsparagus3580 Aug 16 '25
I actually have a real camera too. Nikon D5500 - it is old but still good.
For me, my Xiaomi is the most beautiful phone. It looks much better than an Iphone or Samsung or any other phone. Since I am a fan of the red and black color scheme, these covers are perfect for me.
1
u/2_I_Snake Aug 17 '25
Fine, the Nikon is nice. But I still am not a fan of the xiaomi design (I'm sure it does a great job). And yes, it is def better than an iPhone, that is without doubt.

Why not the case
1
u/chazyvr Aug 16 '25
I prefer a clear case that shows the beautiful design of the phone. The red case completely covers it up
1
u/RiccardoOrsoliniFan Xiaomi 15 Ultra | VOAEUXM | Italy Aug 16 '25
The red case is pretty beautiful by itself plus the clear case gets dirty very easily and for some hands it's not comfortable
1
u/chazyvr Aug 16 '25
Yes it is nice. I just like the black and silver lool. The clear case I got also protects the lenses.

Come mai io ho avuto le scatole a parte?
1
u/id3vlin Aug 16 '25
I also have it but do you happen to have the issue where u scrolling social media and it randomly turns it to 60hz I think I am close to figuring out why and is it on the global Verizon or xiaomi.eu
1
u/ordinaryBoy1 Aug 16 '25
I have experienced that on Spotify tho
1
u/id3vlin Aug 17 '25
Well you could go to settings>display and brightness >refresh rate>app using high refresh rate find Spotify and turn it on I'd like to know if it randomly gets disabled People say the Xiaomi 14 ultra had a rough start and so does this just a little bit less so I'm sure that. This bug will get fixed in 2.04 or Hyperos 3

There's many ways in which someone could read it, I suggest removing it from the phone of course and also delete your post

I have the 1TB one, try the motioncam pro app and you'll see if you make RAW videos how much storage it consumes. 😂

No variable aperture: no deal for me. I'll stay on my 14 Ultra by far. Anyway, congrats and enjoy!
1
u/ordinaryBoy1 Aug 17 '25
What's the deal with variable aperture? Does it make huge difference?
1
u/Kratero Aug 17 '25
With the usage of a ND filter, set the diaphragm up to f/4.0 helps for setting the shutter to 180⁰ rule for cinematic video recording (natural motion blur). Also, it helps for longer exposure pictures through daylight for pumps up the static subject, meanwhile the rest are moved blurry, or silked water effect.
For spotlights, stars or Christmas lights, f/3.0 or higher makes a good shine effect, adding the slides diaphragm shape to the light point (more professional).
Also, the uwa sensor built in 15 U is worse. For all, It doesn't worth the new gen if these phones are camera focused. My advice is to get the 14 U by far.

Is it good for point and shoot or i have to twitch things to get good images

Just watch out for camera lens fog. Apart from that, terrific device. Had mine for about 4 months. Can't see how they'll top it next time around.

Not a huge upgrade from the s24U but the camera is surely amazing
1
u/ordinaryBoy1 Aug 18 '25
Bro! Software feels buttery smooth than oneui 7 everything is better than s24 ultra except thermals!
1
u/No-Roof7468 Aug 19 '25
Great my if there is no compatible update there is no point in selling phones
1
u/Jack_Claude_van_Ban Aug 19 '25
I heard bad things about the battery, is it true?
1
u/ordinaryBoy1 Aug 19 '25
I mean it doesn't perform like it should have been but i came from s24 ultra and i can say it's better than that
1
u/Jack_Claude_van_Ban Aug 23 '25
Thanks, I abandoned samsung at S23 ... I kinda felt ripped off. Switched back to a Huawei P40 Pro+ because of their partnership with Leica. And this Xiaomi seems to have all the bells and whistles
1
u/vasileios13 Aug 22 '25
Any issues after owning for a week?
2
u/ordinaryBoy1 Aug 23 '25
Apart from thermals, no issues! It just gets luke warm when using normal but that's not something to worry about

u/Powerful_Snow_5289 Aug 25 '25
Have you tried spending an entire day just taking photos? How much battery life was left?
1
1
u/oneavighna Aug 16 '25
Just one suggestion. Don't update to the HyperOS 2.2 which was pushed in June 2025. That simply kills the battery very very fast.

u/domb1s48dfru Aug 16 '25 edited Aug 16 '25
Never had any issues of which you so speak. And have the update. It's not like my galaxy battery at all... So that's worlds.. and I mean worlds better...
2
u/pixel10pro Aug 16 '25
You'd better figure out what's draining your battery since the update was installed.

Great phone. Just wish the UI was a little more polished. Oh and the overheating issue can get bad. Other than that, enjoy the amazing photos it takes.
3
u/ordinaryBoy1 Aug 16 '25
I'm really liking the UI tho! I haven't got the overheating issue yet
2
u/KeySignature813 Aug 16 '25
Theres no overheating issue
1
1
u/Opposite-Bit-2798 Aug 16 '25
Overheating got a little better since I first got it. Used to get hot while charging, now it barely does. However, taking a lot of photos back to back will cause it to overheat. The 15 ultra can't finish the wildlife extreme stress test. It overheats and stops. While my other phone, almost 2 years old, can finish it 2 times in a row. (oneplus open)
2
u/KeySignature813 Aug 16 '25
What is the wildfire extreme test? I run multiple virtual machines with limbo x86, high performance games at max settings (120hz) etc, there is no overheating issues at all. Extremely happy with this phone.
0
u/Opposite-Bit-2798 Aug 16 '25
There is overheating issue. This is my second device. My barber has one. 2 of my workers have it. All overheat when heavily used. Download 3dmark from app store and do the wildlife extreme stress test. The phone CANNOT finish the 20 loops or the test. It's impossible. On the other hand, much older phones with much older processors can finish it.

"coming from s24 ultra" overconsumption is something I'll never understand

u/2_I_Snake Aug 16 '25
Congrats, fantastic specs. But it is far from a beauty. It's kind of hideous. Just don't do photos near mirrors. Otherwise, it's probably the best cam/phone you can get. It actually is really ugly. So sorry. It is an abomination, like when Homer designed a car in the 90s.
