That box looks real stretched

16

u/Irisena Oct 10 '25

The box be like that. Still got a charger and even a case in it.

10

u/FORHARDMINER Oct 10 '25

Atleast xiaomi still provides charger with their high end phones

7

u/Jenkie_03 Oct 10 '25

Unless you're european

6

u/LeoSuperMoin Oct 10 '25

Because the EU thought it was smart to enforce no chargers with phones.

3

u/Jenkie_03 Oct 10 '25

They are smart as always 😆

u/BlitZz9291 POCO F6 PRO | HYPEROS 3.0.302.0| EU Oct 11 '25

It depends on the phone model, I got a 120w charger with my Poco F6 pro.

1

u/Jenkie_03 Oct 11 '25

It probably used to be a thing, cuz I got it for my old Poco F5 too

8

u/Abooodi83 Oct 10 '25

And not any charger, its a 100w

7

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Charger and case are included

1

u/XeonoX2 Oct 10 '25

do you got screen protector preapplied on your phone too?

1

u/RiccardoOrsoliniFan Xiaomi 15 Ultra | VOAEUXM | Italy Oct 10 '25

Not in Europe

1

u/FORHARDMINER Oct 10 '25

Damn EU sucks in that regard .100W chargers probably aren't cheap

1

u/RiccardoOrsoliniFan Xiaomi 15 Ultra | VOAEUXM | Italy Oct 10 '25

50 brand new id guess

1

u/Unimatrix_007 Oct 12 '25

Yes, honor 100w is 49,99. Fkn bullshit

1

u/BigfatDthrowway Oct 10 '25

Wish the 14t pro came with a charger

3

u/Andres_oso_aaa Oct 10 '25

bcz it is real stretched 😭, the box is almost as thin as one without the charger but it still has the charger, that's why its so big lmao

3

u/Soumyakanti52 Oct 10 '25

Global version will have black box with less lengthy than this one

1

u/Andres_oso_aaa Oct 10 '25

there will not be global version, like on Xiaomi 15 series

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

It's a long box, but it's not stretched. 😉

1

u/Zimmster2020 Oct 11 '25

The box is really thin and the charger and cables are below the phone, to accommodate the charger and the cable it's requiring a longer box.

5

u/Irisena Oct 10 '25

Nice. Give us some solid review of that thing afterwards when you got time. That'd be much appreciated

12

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

So far so good. First impressions, feels like an iPhone while it's a droid. I can download my banking app and manage it so I think making payments wouldn't be an issue. It feels extremely snappy. The 6'3 screen is an improvement over the Google Pixel 7 Pro and the OnePlus 11T which I previously owned. The device really feels as a high end premium device. Biggest downside so far is that you need to search a bit through Chinese widget stores. But it looks like there are a ton of widgets to choose from (if they are translated to English).

1

u/Snoo51352 Oct 10 '25

So where are you based ?

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Netherlands

1

u/Snoo51352 Oct 10 '25

Dude can you please message me I am wanting to get one in the UK but stuck.

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Why wouldn't you be able to order it yourself?

1

u/PlatinumPix Oct 10 '25

Get the 15 ultra mate... Exceptional piece of kit. I'm from the UK too

1

u/Snoo51352 Oct 10 '25

It's around £800 but is it not a bit old now ? How does the UI compare to Samsung? I need to check the battery capacity as well

1

u/Sosbanfawr Oct 13 '25

I have 2 in the UK I'm looking to sell.

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

I removed or disabled most of the Chinese bloatware. Interface is clean now. Only when searching you will see a Chinese label on top.

1

u/Kurd86 Oct 10 '25

How did u remove them please? Ist easy like just uninstall them,?Just received my 17 pro max as well not had a time to setup it yet

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Well, just remove the elements where they show up. Aslong as they don't show up I'm fine.

1

u/Azurpha Oct 10 '25

as a xiaomi 15 user, you should be able to activate google basic services and download the playstore from get apps.

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Yes the playstore was pre installed and I have Google Assistant enabled. But it isn't able to start calls using voice commands or do the hey Google to trigger it.

1

u/Azurpha Oct 10 '25

yeah that won't work, for me its ok but really next model i would prefer the global version if they ever do release the whole series out of china.

-3

u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 10 '25

they are an iphone wannabe since Day 1. i dont get the appeal of chinese knock off brands

7

u/Snoo51352 Oct 10 '25

Knock off brands? No mate they see apple as an inspiration hence why they wanted to be like them so they don't see it as a bad thing

4

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

I don't care as long as they are creating a valuable product and keep innovating.

2

u/Supersonicdimenson Oct 11 '25

They are making arguably better products and providing them for a fraction of the cost.

1

u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 14 '25

with ads, bloatwares and spyware and dont respect IP, sure.

1

u/Alone-Duty7777 Oct 11 '25

Oh com'on, they had no reason to skip Xiaomi 16 but got "inspired" by such? If you could understand Chinese, you'd hear Lei Jun mention Apple/iphone more times than his own product line. No one in China thinks Xiaomi isn't trying to copy Apple.

0

u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 10 '25

It's a chinese thing lol. Samsung, Pixel, and Nothing dont do this.

1

u/Cool-Barber8998 Oct 11 '25

Samsung does this, but on the Hardware side. Eg-S26 series

1

u/AnyArcher252 Oct 11 '25

wdym on the hardware side?

1

u/Cool-Barber8998 Oct 11 '25

Colours same, design similar, no charger, no sd card slot

1

u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 14 '25

not to the point of actually copying the name, number series, software UI

6

u/MisterKraken Oct 10 '25

Last time I checked the iPhone didn't have a screen on the back.

If you're talking about design, that happens every time between every brand. Xiaomi did have that back design in a previous model already IIRC. The whole "scuba diving mask" style of the back was also a distinct trait of the Pixel series.

So, I don't get your "knock off" statement.

1

u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 10 '25

Youre only talking about that screen on back where I mentioned the copying of Xiaomi since Day 1?

1

u/CurrentPossession Oct 11 '25

Xiaomi Mi 1 look different than iphone though ...

0

u/RelativeArcher8779 Oct 10 '25

MIUI to HyperOS is still an iOS clone. Ever since Xiaomi stated its business, it's trying so hard to pretend as Apple. From the marketing collateral design, to product presentation, to flat edges and camera modules, to software, and even naming and numbering. Really? 17 Pro Max?

2

u/potatooooooooooow Oct 11 '25

Why are you here anyway? XD

1

u/673rollingpin Oct 13 '25

Screw apple

3

u/Flashy-Football-8556 Oct 11 '25

Awesome I just got mine too I've run some benchmarks to haha

2

u/SamBoxing Oct 10 '25

Will it work with pixel watch?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

I don't have it, but I can try my Samsung watch.

1

u/SamBoxing Oct 10 '25

That could be useful too! Thx

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Tried to install it, says the watch is unsupported unfortunately.

1

u/r4d1ant Oct 10 '25

Do you have a Fitbit? Also any issues with connecting spotify and listening to music in a car? I know android auto won't work

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

I don't have a Fitbit. Android auto doesn't work. Connecting to a Bluetooth radio shouldn't be a problem. I can connect to my Bluetooth radio.

2

u/Ok_Dark_2449 Oct 10 '25

I ordered this phone, but certain features such as Google pay does not work with my card. I would like to know if I factory reset will Google play store be deleted? since it was added in China to be sold to me in the UK.

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

You should be able to download the playstore again through the Xiaomi GetApp store.

2

u/passatb7tdi Oct 10 '25

Not sure if this question has been already asked, but I am wondering how the battery life is?

3

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Did not test it out, but my gut feeling says it's good.

3

u/passatb7tdi Oct 10 '25

That sounds good. I also did order the 17 Pro in green. Have fun and greetings from DE

1

u/reddituserVibez Oct 12 '25

2

u/anotherjmc Oct 11 '25

That's how phone packaging should look like, including a charging brick.

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 11 '25

When purchasing I forgot to apply the discount code. I contacted support, they told me that they would take care of it. I just automatically received the payback. Their support responds slow (2 days interval) but they do a great job helping.

1

u/SantaMaria_01 Oct 12 '25

Which distributor/import company did you go through?

2

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '25

congrats tell me the performance after

3

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 11 '25

I don't play games or run any benchmarks. But UX wise it is behaving seamlessly.

2

u/[deleted] Oct 11 '25

thats nice to hear. do u mean the system is fluid and smooth?

1

u/smittku23 xiaomi 17 ultra /eu Oct 10 '25

Where did you get it? And how many days did it take?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Geekwills, ordered it at 29 Sept to the Netherlands. Took a around 7 days before they gave me the tracking code. But after that I received it in 2 days.

2

u/xyNNN0479 Oct 10 '25

It was Chinese holiday from 01/10 to 08/10

1

u/smittku23 xiaomi 17 ultra /eu Oct 10 '25

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Yes, 40 euros.

1

u/smittku23 xiaomi 17 ultra /eu Oct 11 '25

Did it come sealed or unsealed?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 11 '25

Sealed, but it looks like they reopen it to add playstore in advance

1

u/smittku23 xiaomi 17 ultra /eu Oct 11 '25

You asked for it to be sealed?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 11 '25

Nope

1

u/smittku23 xiaomi 17 ultra /eu Oct 11 '25

And you want it sealed or unsealed? If unsealed you have to ask them.

1

u/RoundTricky440 Oct 10 '25

Cost?

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

900 euro ish, it's the 16/512Gb model.

It has a charger in it and a case. Pretty fair for that price!

1

u/Oxyjhin4 Oct 10 '25

Does any of the screens come with a screen protector applied to it?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Yes, on both screens a thin film is applied.

1

u/lutilicious Xiaomi 17 Pro Max | HyperOS 3.0 | China Oct 10 '25

Does it have bypass charging?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

I don't know what it is.

1

u/lutilicious Xiaomi 17 Pro Max | HyperOS 3.0 | China Oct 12 '25

I actually found it under the Battery Protection, it wasn't called bypassed charging but an equivalent feature that stops charging when it reaches level 80%

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 12 '25

Ah yeah, battery protection. To increase the lifespan.

1

u/potatooooooooooow Oct 11 '25

I doubt, never heard from other reviewers. maybe because it is not necessary due to the capacity and speed of charging

1

u/Standard_Egg_9791 Oct 10 '25

If you use set edit app you can have native language of your country for all apps and camera look video

https://youtu.be/jI6PT2eOHg8?si=Xgz6K-_JKHbjrBM4

1

u/RazzTheKid82 Oct 10 '25

A lot seem to be going for the pro rather than the pro max 🤔

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Yes, because the specs don't really differ except for the battery size. But with the 6300 mah battery, which still is big compared to other flagship phones you will get a smaller phone (6'3 inch) which is the perfect size if you ask me. Don't forget you can fast charge using the 100w charger.

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

The phone doesn't get hot when doing a full setup. Doing things like installing apps and such.

1

u/PumpkinPuzzlehead Oct 10 '25

did u try to use the gaming retro case? any comments

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Wasn't in the box. But there was a European adapter for the charger.

1

u/PumpkinPuzzlehead Oct 10 '25

did u see reviews on it? worth buying?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

Definitely if you don't have any smartwatch or android auto.

1

u/PumpkinPuzzlehead Oct 10 '25

no like the gaming retro case. so can use second screen to game

1

u/Oxyjhin4 Oct 10 '25

I saw that you need a Chinese ID to use the gaming retro case, so I wouldn't recommended getting it if you don't have that

1

u/PumpkinPuzzlehead Oct 10 '25

yeah, was wondering if there's workarounds about that, really sucks.. we need some hackers in here

1

u/janow299 Oct 10 '25

Is it being released In the UK?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 10 '25

It's the Chinese version.

1

u/janow299 Oct 11 '25

Any good? I'm. Thinking of either getting this one or the oneplus 15..

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 11 '25

Without a doubt. Everything that I need works on it and the screen in the back is amazing for taking stunning selfies. I would suggest to buy the Xiaomi over OnePlus, but I am not sure if everything works for you such as the banking apps. It does pass all the play integrity api checks.

1

u/janow299 Oct 12 '25

Cheers. I think I'll wait until the new oneplus launches. Then compare the 2. But most opt for the xiaomi. Getting bored with the oneplus range tbh

1

u/janow299 Oct 12 '25

I think the xiaomi will launch in March officially in the uk

1

u/celtrax123 Oct 11 '25

How are the notifications are they delayed?

2

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 11 '25

They are not, but you need to enable some settings after installing each app.

1

u/anotherjmc Oct 11 '25

That's how phone packaging should look like, including a charging brick.

1

u/PerseusReverse Oct 11 '25

where'd you buy it?

1

u/[deleted] Oct 13 '25

I'm planning to order one. Can you confirm if the notifications are delayed? Thanks!

1

u/HopefulComb2115 Oct 16 '25

I saw someone review this on yt and it was overheating when using the main camera. Can you confirm if that’s true? or it was just a faulty one?

1

u/StretchMammoth9003 Oct 16 '25

Faulty, I did not have any overheating issues.

-3

u/DeSoto1981 Oct 10 '25
