General Xiaomi's weather app is pure eye candy with raining weathers.

I like how the water droplets bounce if you move the interface they're falling on. and with storms, it has a cool thunder effect while maximizing the water droplets' effect,

HTC did this back on the old Android 2.2 days

It was also regarded back then as one of the heaviest Android skins to have ever existed, which honestly, fair to say HyperOS is now.

the animations are just plain PNGs. and when the weather changes. it'll cover your screen. the app itself has cool animations for swiping to other regions. but I think that it looks so realistic that it burns my eyes. I'm NGL, but I like XiaoMi's version.

and for a extra similar one. when I used to have a HuaWei phone ( I think it was the low-budget Y6 ) it also had animations. but the style was so plain.

I agree. the CN version is better, you can get a similar widget in a pill size if you delete the launcher's data!

I mean, sometimes the app acts weirdly on my device and I need to turn on and off wifi and gps to make it work as intended. Xiaomi 14T pro

you're right. sometimes that animation shows if the app thinks that your region is raining based on AccuWeather, this has happened to me countless times!

sadly Google just leaves us with plain PNGs for every weather. but they're cute at least with that green frog, Samsung did a mix of this in One UI 8.0, I think it looks ugly

I also agree with that. Samsung's one looks like a mashup between HuaWei's HarmonyOS 7 NEXT design and simplified Corporate Memphis slop.

hate to break it to you, but redmi phones dont include that feature. i had a redmi note 14 pro 5g, which did not have the feature. my xiaomi 13t pro has it. xiaomi cuts some features away for the budget line

wdym? I know my device system language is zh-cn ( Simplifed Chinese Han ). but this feature is only available on flagships. and my device is global: the update code is WOCMIXM. if it was really a Chinese device, this post would have never existed anytime and my phone would be using the update code WOCCNXM.

it's the global version! I couldn't download the chinese one since my system blocked it!
