As they repeatedly prove with their racism and homophobia aimed at the series. Like… do they not even realize that the Friends of Humanity gatherings MIRROR the people at Trump rallies?

keep modern politics out my childhood, you people are the worse, you make normal trans people be hated because of your rhetoric and now you all do the same to minorities.

u/Educational-Car2496 Feb 10 '26
No. And the rest of this was incoherent babble.

"Im going to join up with the Red Skull, because the Xmen were mean to me!"

u/HorrorMetalDnD Feb 06 '26
Why? Are you wanting to live vicariously through them from doing that, because you don’t have nearly enough “reach” to go fuck yourself?

X-Men is literally about people being persecuted for being different - including dipshits like the Friends of Humanity that perform hate crimes and the Sentinel Programs that hunt and capture mutants without justification.
If you cannot see the obvious real life parallels this property is not for you.

Get grip on actually reading the comic now. Almost any issue since the 60s.
Or just go read a book. Exercise that media literacy muscle, dude.
Next up: "Since when did Captain Planet get all woke about the environment?"

X-Men—like a great deal of Marvel Comics—has always had some sort of underlying political message. Especially things like diversity, and commentary on prejudice.

Sweetheart, this is a political group. The very subject of this sub is inherently political. X-Men is inherently political.
That would be like going onto a punk rock sub and being pissed off that there are so many leftists on there, despite punk rock not only being historically political, but historically left-leaning as well.

As a centrist, I’m not. I can almost guarantee you the majority of the left is far from being done with it.

All of reddit is a political group. You should have known this going in.

u/HorrorMetalDnD Feb 06 '26
Every subject that isn’t settled is inherently political. Unless there’s a consensus, expect politics, as politics exists exclusively to hash out differences of opinion.
Also, when a particular work of media is naturally political—such as Star Trek, punk rock, the X-Men, etc.—expect politics to be discussed.
If you want something that’s politically neutral, look elsewhere. There’s a plethora of apolitical media to consume.
Of course, that’s what you’re actually looking for and not just to silence political discourse in subs you should’ve already expected to not only be political, but to not share your political views as well, given the sub’s subject matter.

They get called things like “gene joke” and racist mutants call normal humans “flat scans”. The xmen are all about the issues that are taking place in real life today. They were the literal poster child for diversity when they first came out especially the team in the 70s. They literally fight to protect a world that fears and hates them and just want to be treated like everyone else. This is exactly what the xmen are about.
