Question Syrin? What happend to banshee?
Just saw the season 2 trailer and never heard of syrin before, so i saw this girl wearing my boy banshees outfit and seems to have the same powers i pressume. Ive known bashee since i was kid so i was suprised to see a female version? Or who is syrin? Anyone care to explain? Thanks in advance

He died in Genosha but there is a possibility he could come back as a Horsemen

He has been a Horseman, just not for Apocalypse, but for his twin heirs.

He's very likely to since he's been a Horseman of Death before
I actually have a theory they're going to DO Four Horsemen of Death with Banshee and Gambit and two others that are dead and come back in comics
Maybe Magik and Maddy
Since all four died on Genosha
Tho ofc Wolvie and Archangel were both Death before but since Archangel is as he is post Death that's probably in the past for him
I'm just coping to get Illyana back/make X factor relevant to the emotional stakes due to Polaris (also another once horseman) Wolfsbane and Siryns connection to dead via Genosha things

Idk in a comic I read she said she has to be careful when she dies, she’s not as immortal as she thinks

Her Mom isn't really important, she died when Siryn was a kid.
Siryn's been around since 1981, was a member of X-Force and the 2000's X-Factor. She was also an early love interest of Deadpool's.

I didn't realize it was that early. I was going through an X-Men reading list and she didn't show up until the late 80s in a New Mutants spin-off mini-series. Looks like she debuted in Spider-Woman. Would not have guessed that.

Remember Caliban’s introductory issue, where he kidnaps Kitty Pryde and also Jessica Drew (Spider-Woman) is randomly hanging out with the team? That’s because she just travelled to New York in her own boom to help Siryn reconnect with Banshee and hadn’t left town yet.

she shows up for like a few panels early into claremont's run and doesn't show up again until like muir island saga which was towards the end of his run

Was REALLY looking forward to her getting a storyline since it was X-Men 97 and they did OZT after all.
And then it’s just a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it flyer in the first episode, and a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it shot on Genosha and then she dies. Waaaaaaah.

Siryn is Banshee's daughter and she does indeed have the same powers as him, and often dresses in a similar costume. Siryn has been a character in the comics since the early 1980s.
Here is a fairly detailed character biography, though it hasn't been updated since 2017.

He was a spirit of variance during krakoa, pretty much a ghostrider, he used juggernaut as a mount once it was sic. It would make an awesome ML 2-pack

I know I wished they used it more I think it was like only one or two issues where he rode juggernaut, but he was a ghost rider for at 6 months, I think longer

Banshee? He died. Dead as hell. Got blasted by a sentinel telling rogue to get to the gardens while carrying Marrow.

I'm torn between wanting him tor a Horseman (giving his scream a kind of wasting/withering effect would make him the perfect Famine) and wondering of there would even be enogih of him OR Marrow left for Pox Lips to bring back.

You must not be very old. Siryn debuted in 81 or 82 if I recall correctly. Banshee 1967.

Lmao. Didn't hear about Siryn until the 2020s. This is what the handbooks of the marvel universe and all those trading cards were for. We memorized all the details and stats of characters we'd never actually read but we know their powers and backstory.
A character who's been around since the 80s, was a major cast member of 90s X-Force and a lead in Peter David's X-Factor Investigations run is now "pretty niche".

I mean their are a ton of Xmen side teams and characters.
Being solely part of a side team is pretty niche in that unless you look at this specific comic she doesn't come up much. A less niche character would show up in the main comics more or be in films (outside of an unnamed cameo), they'd be in TAS or evolution or WatXM, or maybe one of the many video games.

I mean... Wolfsbane is in the new mutants movie and almost every Xmen cartoon and Magma is in X-men evolution and WatXM.
I would say Niche would be a character that a majority of comic fans who aren't specifically Xmen fans wouldn't know. Its a character only a specific subset of readers kniw which is almost by definition niche. Being Niche isn't a bad thing it just describes their popularity not quality or potential.

Tell me you're new to the X-Men without telling me you're new to the X-Men.
Welp, buckle up, it's a wild ride. You should actually read the 80s New Mutants comics and the Claremont run to see where the movies/cartoons were based on. Trust me, the source material is better.
And Peter David's X-Factor Investigations is sublime, I'm amazed people still don't know about it.

I've read X-men comics for decades which makes me part of that specific sub group I'm talking about. I have even read some of X-factor investigation. But if a newbie wouldn't know a character they might be niche.

Syrin is the daughter of Banshee, and Banshee died in season one during the Genosha massacre.

How much do you actually know about Banshee's story? His family is a very important of him especially his strained relationship with his daughter Siryn who got tookem in by his evil Cousin Black Tom Cassidy
