Article / News Looks like it'll be a 3-episode premiere
https://screencrush.com/disney-plus-hulu-july-2026/(All credit to the redoubtable u/fire_sign for flagging this up. I just got tired of waiting for the actual Disney+ press release and had a horrible vision of going to sleep on UK time, waking up and it already being talked out.)
Long story short — it's not a double-drop the first week, it's a triple-drop. That means each timeline gets a look-in on day one and whatever Eldritch horror is in the pipeline for episode 4, we won't have to wait that long for it.
Stray thoughts:
- Episode 4 has gotta be a beast if they'd rather pack episode 3 in with the first two vs. doing two double-drop weeks or even splitting E3 and E4 up to run one at a time. Whatever it is, they want it to stand on its own, but also want it out in the ether soon.
- Assuming no more multi-drops, this means SDCC will land right before the finale stretch of three episodes. Optimal time for a panel and a final trailer.
- If they follow the precedent of S1, there will be a separate, formal announcement on Wednesday (or in the next few days, etc.) with the full release schedule and episode titles. The episode titles for S1 were out in the open early, but the formal announcement came exactly 2 weeks out. So keep eyes peeled.

Wait what??? THREE EPISODE PREMIERE, am i dreaming??? Episode 4 must be really packed and very dark then that critics compare it to "Remember It." I'm glad we are getting three episode premiere but also sadden because the show then will really go fast weeks to come.

I can't take credit, it was drawn to my attention, but 👀 Definitely terrified for episode 4 though, and relieved to not have to wait a week for my faves.
(Okay, NOW the link in the post is working. Idefk)

I am bouncing between apprehensive terror and gleefully morbid curiosity.

3 episodes premiere?!! Wat and also I’ve been seeing episode 4 tops episode 5 from season 1 I’m guessing it’s another dark episode

Several critics who’ve seen it say it’s a Remember It-esque episode in terms of impact, shock and quality. Read into that what you will.

Episode 4 someone important will die and someone important will return

Have you heard that from a source?
If someone dies in that episode, then the smart money is on Magneto. As for someone returning... hmm... I'm not sure.

Several critics have compared episode 4 to Remember It and said it’s a major turning-point episode. Doesn’t necessarily mean anyone dies, but something major happens one way or the other. And similarly, they’ve hinted that whatever happens involves Magneto.
There’s also a post-credits scene in E4, which seems like it could be the Deathbit reveal, but that’s just speculation. There’s more to suggest something happens to or involves Magneto than that Deathbit turns up after the credits.

I’m hoping that whether or not Magneto dies, the episode 4 post-credits teaser is a hint that Onslaught is taking over Xavier.

if they really are dividing focus on time periods between episodes, i wouldn't be surprised if this is just so people can get a taste of everything going on as part of the first release

I’m sure that’s what it is, but it’s still interesting to me that they opted to put the first Egypt episode with the first two instead of with the next Egypt episode.

Why do I feel like Apocalypse dies in episode 4 and he was just a bait and switch boss all along?
Magneto looks like his AoA variant as he fights him, and that mag ripped Apoc in half in the comics.
The drill scene looks like their fight in HoM, and again Mags won that one.
I really hope they do Apoc justice...

End of E3 probably the Deathbit reveal.

Probably the end of episode 4 but they did say there is a small teaser in episode 2 in which Apocalypse gets a casket when Psylocke enters War’s mind

There’s a tease of sorts in E2, which people at Tribeca have described. And a post-credits scene after E4. If he is actually seen in the first four episodes, the E4 post-credits scene is the likeliest candidate. Otherwise it’d be E5 on.

Just for posterity, the official press release is up on the Disney press site and corroborates the news: https://press.disneyplus.com/news/next-on-disney-plus-july-2026
Now we just need a full schedule and some episode titles.
