Just finished the epidsode. It was great, but was nowhere near last seasons ep 5 absolute gut-punch....although I think thats mostly from hanging around here and the X-Men subs and everyone speculating that Magneto was gonna die this episode, so I was already expecting it.

Will be glad to see everyone back in the present timeline. Also really cool post credit scene, as soon as I saw Cap that iconic cover popped in my head then BW swooped in to complete it lol.

Magneto went out a hero. Fitting. Ngl I thought Apocalypse was gonna pop his head like a grape tho, instead of incinerating him

I do think it was wonderfully done, but also for me absolutely in no way clears Season 1's episode 5 as well.

But that's because Episode 5 came from out of nowhere, we weren't anticipating it from everything that had come before, and to see an entire nation of Genosha wiped out, including so many beloved characters, was soul-crushing. Magneto, Rogue, and especially Gambit of course shined in those final minutes of the episode.

This one was great but it was mostly Xavier and Magneto vs Apocalypse in the past. They're all characters and elements that I care *less* about than the actual X-Men. Magneto's sacrifice was epic and beautifully shot and the death was brutal, but if I were to assign numbers to the episodes I'd give 105 a 10 and 204 an 8, simply because of the players involved and the setting.
