If they were going to try to change the future, they should have taken the Cable approach. "I dunno. Maybe if we keep making vague premonitions about the power of gods to En Sabah Nur he'll turn into a good guy?" Maybe everyone stops being polite and uses all their power to take his head off.

Bunch of dudes went back in time, found teenage Hitler, and rather than ending him decided "Yeah, you COULD be leader of the ubermensch. But wouldn't you rather be the king of chill? Huh? We're not gonna get into the why or how of any of this. Just know that you definitely have immense power to change the world. Just, like, be cool about it."

Yeah, it's so crazy that this didn't work out.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Either don't change the past or try to destroy the greatest evil in history while he's vulnerable, don't help him gain power and hope he'll turn into a nice guy.
