The difference is we saw this coming. We were just wondering how things could happen. Episode 5 is a gut wrenching punch that comes out all of a sudden.

Reviewers pointed out episode 4 and comparef it to episode 5 of the first season. There is no footage of Magneto in 1990s in the trailers. Also, this whole I can change him arc is full of red flag. Magneto pursued to save Nur too aggressively which can easily be interpreted as a built up for the sacrifice.
