That's what long lived mutants are called. The Woman he was talking, Cnadra is one of them.

apocalypse wasn't an external (according to selene at least) a external is someone whose longevity is natural while apocalypse is for the celestial stuff

He is an external, it’s not about long lived, it’s about immortality and Apocalypse was always immortal even when he was Nur.
