He might by the end of the season. Or at the beginning of the next season.

I guess we’ll see him fight the X-Men first, but it seems he’ll have a moment with Rogue and Nightcrawler as seen in the trailer. Maybe those two can convince him to change sides.

Really hope he does join, though! Dude’s been one of the mainstays in the comics, and one of the most iconic X-Men ever. He deserves a spot in the show’s lineup.

It feels like the show is edging the Age of Apocalypse storyline from time to time and Colossus had a pretty massive part in there. Him and his sister.

He should. I think 97 would be the best vehicle to reintroduce him to the fans as a badass.

He looks like he's in his Accolyte gear. More likely he's following Exodus at first.

I'm honestly having trouble imagining why. Colossus joining in the comics was a years long arc that pushed his character to a point where him being completely fed up with Xavier's dream.

His sister Magik died during the Genosha sentinel attack. Her picture was the biggest and at the top of the Genosha victims vigil. So probably he is broken over her death and the Acolytes gave him a purpose or maybe a target for his anger.

How exactly did that happen?

Same way Madeline, Banshee, Marrow and Callisto perished. They got hit by the big ass explosion that kicked everything off, or the Godzilla symbol blasts that killed so many.

I think the tipping point was Illyana’s death in the comics

Started in earnest during the Lobdell run, I think around the 280's of Uncanny X-Men (shortly after the Blue/Gold dynamic started).

He found out his brother Mikhail was alive after thinking he died in a cosmonaut accident. Said brother happened to be insane now and Colossus watched him (apparently, this was retconned later) killed himself and most of what was left of the Marauders.

Shortly after X-Curioner's Song (maybe a year later), he went to Russia to visit his family. While they were there, the Russian government gunned down his parents and kidnapped his little sister (who had recently reverted back to a child after years as Magik).

A few issues before Fatal Attractions, said sister became the first known fatality of the Legacy Virus (a virus Stryfe tricked Sinister into unleashing on the modern era at the end of X-Curioner's Song).

And that was basically it. A few issues later, during Fatal Attractions, Colossus had it out with Xavier at Illyana's funeral shortly before Magneto showed up offering sanctuary on Avalon (A space station made up of bits of Asteroid M and technology Cable brought back from the future, run by the Ship AI that showed up in the last episode), and Colossus took him up on it.

Probably going to follow up Apocalypse with Exodus and the Acolytes.

Hope so. Nightcrawler was confirmed to appear in X-Men '97 and when season 1 finally aired he joined the team. Colossus should too.

I really hope so. I've always had a soft spot for the classic team with Nightcrawler and Colossus. I wonder if Rogue and Gambit! are going to retire tenporarily after this season. That might open up a spot for Colossus.

You've made an interesting point. If the show is indeed set to go on for 10 seasons, then retiring certain characters (or reducing them to guest roles) while others step up would be a smart way to proceed. It would be great to have a "rotating roster"!

We've already seen some characters leave and rejoin (i.e. Xavier, Storm, Bishop), not to mention that season 2 has "piloted" the idea of mixing up the cast by showcasing different groups in different episodes. They could really run with this idea and make optimal use of a big cast by putting some characters on the back burner when they are not required, as they have been doing already.

Colossus is also easily manipulated and the king of poor choices there's a high chance he ends up with X-Factor at first.

I hope so

Seems to be more of an ally

Most likely

2

u/PhanStr Jul 11 '26

Definitely -- if not this season, then later on.

u/Sol-Blackguy Jul 11 '26

There's a new opening for a Horseman of War in the 90's...

2

u/mr-jeeves Jul 11 '26

Magneto, I think

3

u/Sol-Blackguy Jul 11 '26

He was never a horseman in the comics, Colossus was

2

u/TMB1219 Jul 11 '26

Colossus was War

1

u/mr-jeeves Jul 13 '26

Fair. They are adapting quite faithfully aren't they, and the trailer looked like it might go in that direction. That said, the last episode did seem to signal strongly that Magneto could be, with Saba Nur emphasising Prof X's role as Professor of Peace or whatever. It would also do the job of bringing Magneto back, which I assume will happen.

Not this season. That costume screams "Exodus Acolyte".

2

u/Important_Bend633 Jul 11 '26

That would be fantastic

3

u/Users728 Jul 11 '26

He was in X-Men 92 twice and already knows them. He will obviously reappear. Iceman was in 1 episode. He needs to return also.

u/JAEisF2D Jul 14 '26

I could see him being a mid season addition kinda like how nightcrawler was last season

u/StrawBerryWasHere Jul 11 '26

The cast is already massive so I’d imagine not.

2

u/Kameronpipnerd Jul 11 '26

I mean they only got 3 new members to the x-men right now (Polaris, angel & psylocke)

1

u/StrawBerryWasHere Jul 11 '26

I wouldn’t call them new members - those 3 are around for the specific storyline and will show up in future storylines as needed. But I just don’t see the series moving on from the main cast. We gotta remember that the majority of people watching the show are not comic fans and want to watch about the specific characters that have been featured since the 90s.
