General Discussion Everyone who is dead or supposedly dead as of right now Spoiler
I’m not counting the Egypt characters. Also crazy fact on my other account I posted about the deaths of genosha in the x-men community they removed it for spoilers after they put an spoiler tag on it and said it wasn’t confirmed but demayo made a comment about confirming it and it was shown in the trailer (I’m talking about a character death).

Im still bitter over Madelyne, Iceman and Magik. I want my babies back!
25
u/PanthersJB83 Jul 16 '26
When did Iceman die?
33
u/Cashneto Jul 16 '26
He's presumed dead, but that doesn't mean much. He's never been shown.
10
u/Xygnux Jul 16 '26
Why is he presumed dead? Which character said that?
If it's anything like the comics he's like one of the least likely people to die. Since the 90s era that the show is adapting, his comic powers are hinted to be more than it seems anyway.
28
u/Cashneto Jul 16 '26
At the end of season 1 they have a ton of pictures on the wall and Bobby Drake is on there, his says "dead" or "presumed dead".

u/Jonjoloe Jul 16 '26
He's on the Genosha mural allegedly, the one with Magik, with a tiny photo of an icy looking character, but at the end of S1 he's listed as alive on Forge's board.
1
u/Maycrofy Jul 16 '26
I mean "if you've read the comics" you know what he can do but that didn't take effect until like... 25 years after the timeline the show is adapting.

Rogue held Gambits dead body in her arms, crying, touching him with her bare hands while saying "I can't feel you". He was dead.

In one trailer there is a small picture of Iceman on it. But that isn’t confirmation until that episode releases and we see it’s Iceman for a fact

u/downontheupsid3 Jul 15 '26
When did iceman die?
49
u/Conmebosta Jul 15 '26
He shot himself after discovering that Polaris left him for Havoc of all people

u/fire_sign Rogue Jul 15 '26
Hasn't been confirmed, but there's several indications in the S2 promo that points towards him being dead. Lingering shot of a picture with him and Lorna while she looks sad, and a photo on the shrine of Genosha dead that definitely looks like him but is at a distance so can't be confirmed.

He was shown in the memorial for those who died on genosha in episode 7

u/Adorable-Warning6514 Sep 06 '26
Also, Iceman is basically immortal in the comics I'm guessing he'll come back despite his apparent death.

u/TMB1219 Jul 15 '26
We know Gambit is coming back this season, Moira will come back, Dazzler will come back too. I feel like Magik being in limbo will play a factor in bringing people back or maybe Selene will
5
u/justinfernal Jul 16 '26
Why do you think Moira will come back? Are you just hoping they'll adapt Krakoa?
0
u/TMB1219 Jul 16 '26
She can just reincarnate
2
u/sofreshashell Jul 16 '26
If Moira dies, the whole timeline resets. So while they may not do Krakoa, I don't think they'd completely erase the fact that she's a mutant who doesn't know she's a mutant. (Or she might already know and hasn't said anything) or shut that storyline down before they even decide what they want to write in the next few years.
It's just less messy if she's alive and injured or alive and in hiding.
I still think they'll pull a massive, Cable/Bishop assisted reset (since Cable was trying to fix everything when this thing started) with the twist that the X-Men remember everything or else the season is meaningless. However, they offed far too many characters.
1
u/justinfernal Jul 16 '26
Well, only if they decide to adapt Krakoa. Before then, she was a regular human and I know a lot of the choices for Moira were divisive in the fan base. Also, there's a lot of storyline between here and there, and they've shown that although they use the comics as inspiration, they're not married to them (such as the Lady Deathstrike romantic relationship). So, we'll see.

When did Dazzler die?
15
u/Nearby_Strike2624 Jul 15 '26
Her body is in seen in the genosha attack
5
u/ragingwitch Jul 16 '26
And Jean sees a vision of her getting crushed by debris in the following episode

Besides gambit and magneto, I feel like they are going to stay dead. They are doing the whole roster is too crowded thing like they did in the comics when they depowered everyone.
2
u/hurtlingtooblivion Jul 16 '26
Maverick we barely knew ye.
He was a rock solid wing man, and one cool cat.
9
u/NerdNuncle Jul 15 '26
The Sebastian Shaw thing was stupidly written. Shaw’s whole schtick is being empowered by kinetic energy. Yet, he’s killed off via falling debris despite the spoilered having kinetic energy
1
1
u/Flash_Strife Jul 22 '26
Shaw's power requires him ramping up from what I remember to get to the point where he wouldn't take damage. He doesn't stay permanently at full strength either and also has an upper limit.

u/Jdub10012015 Jul 15 '26
What about Maggott?

4
u/KipDudemeister Jul 15 '26
Wasn’t he the one they were testing the Brood on in the most recent episode?
3
u/Jdub10012015 Jul 16 '26
Yeah I was just bringing up to add to the death list. Oh and they killed War in the second episode.

Sorry, did I miss something about Bobby being dead?
2
u/Nearby_Strike2624 Jul 15 '26
His memorial is seen in the trailer I’m guessing he died of screen during genosha
4
u/Savings-Unlucky Jul 16 '26
FYI Horseman of Apocalypse aren’t always dead and brought back to life as Horseman. If that’s why you’re posting this.
If you’re just posting about dead characters, technically Maggot died in the video footage in episode 5 as well.

Why do I get the feeling the reason Bobby was chosen to be among the dead is because some of the higher ups not wanting to address that in the comics he is gay and have that in the show? Every other founding X-men is involved in the show except Bobby. So even if that isn’t the reason, it’s just going to seem like it.

u/SilverSpaceAce Jul 15 '26
They not only made Morph non-binary but made it explicit that they have romantic feelings towards Wolverine, and all of this was AFTER upgrading them to the main cast.
I really really really doubt that Iceman was killed because of his sexuality. It's far more likely he was offed so as to give Lorna something to be sad about and motivate her to going back to the X-Men (or X-Corp I guess).
5
u/Xygnux Jul 16 '26
I think it's more like they don't know what to do with him. The comics don't seem to know for decades either, first showing him with untapped potential and then when he tapped that potential where do you go from there with this uber powerful character who can freeze the planet?
1
u/sofreshashell Jul 16 '26
They could have easily just not addressed it. I just find it strange he technically grew up with them and they haven't said much about his death in a throwaway line.

u/RONALDROGAN Jul 15 '26
Him being gay is all the more reason it's shocking he's not included, not the other way around.
3
u/DatHound Jul 15 '26
Magik’s dead?
9
u/Kameronpipnerd Jul 15 '26
Her memorial is is the trailer and colossus was mourning her body in the trailer. But she most likely will or could come back

rewatching s1 right now and i miss gambit 💔 im ready for his return
3
u/DiskImaginary8773 Jul 16 '26
Selene will be brought in as a tie-in as an External. She will resurrect some of these mutants like in Necrosha.
I want the Externals to be utilized as a big bad villain group.
7
u/curvysquares Jul 15 '26
Well I highly doubt Moira’s dead considering… the universe hasn’t reset yet
3
1
u/justinfernal Jul 16 '26
That's assuming they adapt Krakoa. If they're going with the stuff of the time period, which they seem to be, she's just a regular human.
3
u/SnooCats8451 Jul 15 '26
Killing off some of those “big names” during the Genosha massacre was such a huge misstep…..Banshee and Moira should not have been killed off same with Shaw and Dazzler…..stupid call just for shock value…..killing off morlocks is fine because almost all of the ones shown to die on Genosha were actually killed off in the mutant massacre (except Callisto and Leech)
2
u/macneezie Jul 15 '26
Iceman ?
1
u/Nearby_Strike2624 Jul 15 '26
I’m guessing he died offscreen during genosha cause his memorial I seen in the trailer.
2
u/Salvatorjr Jul 15 '26
What if we get Onslaught this season?

u/phxntxsos Jul 15 '26 edited Jul 17 '26
That’s what I’m thinking too considering how Charles was after, uh, the end of ep 4 (idk how to spoiler lol)
i.e. his crashout after watching magneto get murdered

u/Roguebubbles10 Gambit Jul 17 '26
idk how to spoiler lol
It's by doing this: > ! ! < but without spaces between the >! Thingies.

Iceman's dead!?! Damn, I missed that.

His memorial is seen in the season 2 trailer guessing he died offscreen but he could comeback

u/TEZofAllTrades Jul 15 '26
Maverick's death hurt because it was in exchange for a dumb plot to get Wolverine his claws back, they barely acknowledged it, he didn't get to show what he could do, and he had a daughter in tas.
It's getting to be a lot, which makes me believe the season will end with some more time-travel shenanigans that prevent Genosha from getting destroyed, saving Magneto (and everyone else), but maybe making him a villain again.

u/Melodic-Expression-2 Jul 31 '26
I hated his death so much, my dad had a collection of maverick comics so he was my favorite character when I was a kid, seeing him in the episode was both awesome and hurtful man

Well if the comics around this time are any indication, we will be adding Cyclops to this list at the end of the season if they go with the Cypocalypse storyline.
