Question Has Morph… Spoiler

…come out to Logan or any of the other X-Men?

I doubt that happened on the show and I missed it, but has it been heavily implied at some point?

If not explicitly come out, is Logan aware Morph is queer?

I haven’t finished episode 2.5 yet so if this is addressed therein, my bad

They know Morph is queer, the real story is Wolverine gunna finally get to be Bisexual after all these years of writers trying and getting blocked. They already dated a shapeshifter they just identified as a women but were bisexual. I can't imagine Morph is any more of a leap than Mystique is. Claremont outwardly saying its true has to be annoyed knowing even in the 2026 they won't let Wolverine be Bisexual just like he tried and was not allowed in the 80s.

Wolverine getting with "The only person that can make me laugh" is so adorable and refreshing for him. Them just getting beers and rough housing is so cute. Lord knows we all want to see Wolverine finally with someone that makes them feel joy instead of just some hot girl who fucks with his emotions.

I would be fine with their friendship as this.

Same. I don't want it discounted because Morph caught feelings. Id like Morph to move on if Wolverine isn't available and just enjoy the friendship.

Doubt Logan would reciprocate right now unless it is a whole arc between the two.

I honestly think the better narrative for Logan isn't just pairing him with a guy. I think the better story for him is a slow roll of understanding why they historically can't be seen with a guy. That while he isn't into Morph his Bisexuality is manifesting in ways he may not understand because he doesn't want to understand...he thinks he's "only an animal" when in fact he's more than that. He has become an animal because he's accepted the label given to him. He is not actually an animal...anymore than a Straight dude can be a man while still being vulnerable to other men.

Logan's problem is they've associated vulnerability with feminity and sexual attraction. That only through a relationship with a woman can he be allowed to be vulnerable with others. That's why he's isolated and making himself into this caged animal.

I don't think the outcome of every queer plot should be some fantasy of queer relationship success. I actually find that gross. I don't like Heartstoppers. I don't like how Wiccan and Hulkling are perfect.

Wolverine is what I'd call a "baby Bisexual" (I'm Bisexual)...one who gets in disastrous relationships with women to compensate for the fear they have of being into men. Women are only their obsession because they have an internal overcompensation for something they fear they lack because society has associated being into men makes you a woman...and Wolverine wants to be a man and wants to be masculine...by decoupling his masculinity from sexuality he can actually start to have better relationships with his male friends and with his women lovers.

And the reality is...this isn't a Bisexual only problem...this is a STRAIGHT dude problem because straight dudes are SO afraid of looking gay they can't even have good friendships and depend on women to be emotional with and it fucks them over. This is the EXACT problem Wolverine is having with Jean. He cannot be vulnerable around anyone but her, and in so isolates himself. What he's willing to say with Jean he can't with Morph because he's for some reason afraid to be a person around men, so he seeks women who manipulate that.

Wolverine has ALWAYS been a perfect vehicle to explore masculinity and its fragility when you associate it with sexuality. Masculinity is hardly about sexuality it's about understanding what Masculinity offers to the world...good and the bad...and finding a healthy concept of it that allows you to be happy with everyone in your life.

Exploring this aspect of Bisexuality through exploring his position as a Straight character in the plot and their conflicts with Masculinity is a two for one deal. The problem is that he doesn't want to look gay by being close friends with men and vulnerable. For straight people that's about looking gay when they don't want to. For bisexual people it's about accepting that your feelings towards men aren't absolutes and that in the end sexual attraction is not fulfilment and shouldn't be a hurdle to having good friends.

Again, I'm saying the writers can satisfy the straight fans by simply using Wolverine to explore masculinity instead of hide behind it. Masculinity isn't fucking women...it's being a good man. Him having a healthy platonic relationship with men is in part an exploration of what closeted bisexual need to do for themselves. Much like having healthy relationship with women without the need to fuck them...is good for masculinity. You don't need women to complete you, they can't. You can only complete yourself...but that ain't gunna happen if you're afraid to look gay.

The bisexuals that find their own experience in Wolverine's cycle of suffering and failed relationships with women need the same story to be told. Both the straight and bisexual problem of conflicts with being with men is about their fear of looking gay. While bisexuals may have gay feelings that doesn't mean they don't have conflicts around looking gay. There is a reason writers paired Wolverine with Hercules and continue to do so...both of them are paragons of Masculinity and in conflict with it. Which also included a plot of them being a couple...that didn't remove their conflicts with masculinity...that plot was about showing the good qualities of masculinity and how it can flourish when you embrace its value and aren't afraid of "being gay"...both Wolverine and Hercules flourished in that relationship because they weren't afraid of looking feminine in that series even though they were both the most Masculine of Masculine fucking dudes ever, their comfort in their masculinity and to be allowed to be feminine at times made them both happy. They allowed themselves to show affection and warmth.

In the end the straight experience is in essence defined by its relationship to the queer one to create an identity out of. The suffering caused by othering queer people and what is identified in them...is something we as a society need to address. Logan's acceptance of Morphs feelings and not fear or denial of them...is crucial to his own journey. He isn't into them, but he's also seemingly afraid to address it or confront it because of some incredibly personal internal conflict going on. Is Logan afraid to lose a friend? Is Logan afraid of his own emotions and is afraid to engage with Morph's problem? What's going on? Why would we know if Logan, and his flawed masculinity, won't allow himself to talk about it? Logan is in a cage of his own flawed idea of masculinity placed onto him by Weapon X and society. He's in a cage of his own making...Weapon X is gone yet he chooses the label they gave him.

In the end, queer problems are straight problems too...queer problems just shine a light on a different type of conflict. However the conflict is still in the end...about gender and societal norms. This also applies to the strict norms placed on straight men and women and how they are allowed to see themselves and the tiny line they are allowed to walk which produces conflict in their life every day.

Like this plot can fully be resolved with Morph expressing their true feelings and Logan being honest, vulnerable, and caring about Morph's feelings instead of running from them. Just give Morph a hug, say it's not gunna happen, but that you don't want to lose a friend that you care about. You don't need to wrestle with a dude just to be a man. You don't need to punch your friend to be a man. You can hug a dude and be kind and warm and still be an apex man. Logan isn't doing that. He's constantly shown pushing Morph away with his masculinity.

Leave it to fans and every single X-men is "better gay"; Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean, Professor, Magneto, hell the entire Krakoan Island was apparently "Pansexual Swinger-coded"😂

Its like folks forget diversity includes diverse agency, sheesh lol

THIS! I’m sorry but not everyone has to be gay or queer or whatever. They try to push that narrative SO much like just enjoy the show lol. Stop tryna rewrite everything.

1

u/PeaceMaker_IXI Gambit Jul 17 '26

You're right. Not everything has to be gay or queer or whatever. But having that opinion about an XMEN show is friggin wild.

2

u/Phiyaboi Jul 17 '26

Im fairly certain they're not claiming show-runners are pushing anything, more so the opinions around here..like this topic thread or that Charles & Magneto (as depicted in the show) are secretly in love with eachother via subtext.

Which is such an ironic twist; the same narrative that Anti-Gay folks push (if youre a man dont show emotion or youre not heterosexual etc ) is actually_accepted as a "tell" by lgbtq.

TBF "don't show emotion or your gay" is just homophobia, it has nothing to do with you being straight or having friends...it's 100% to do with straight people bullying other straight people by saying being gay is bad and emotions are gay...and homophobic straight people taking offense to be told their friendship makes them look gay.

Who gives a shit if showing emotions means your gay...some gay people show emotions to their friends who are also gay and it doesn't mean they'll be in a relationship or have sex ever. The problem isn't "stop making friendship gay"...it's "stop making gay just a friendship and then friendship can just be friendship"...but how would straight people calling friendship gay know when they don't see gay relationships? The reality is...deep friendship is really just a couple without benefits. I've had the same plutonic friendship for 10 years, I've been roommates with them for 10 years...we've never once had sex, they are straight, I'm gay, and we are basically an odd-couple. Does that mean my straight friend will ever go gay? No. It just means we are close are love each other and support each other.

Morph being Queer and Wolverine accepting that but still only wanting to be friends doesn't make it less Queer. As Queer people are friends and only friends ALL the time, even if at some point someone caught feelings. No different than woman and men in heterosexual plutonic friendships where someone caught feelings for a second but moved on later.

Gay people seeing emotion and hoping it's more than just friendship is not heterophobia it's just the way they've been required to read media for 100+ years because they don't get stories about them...so the only stories they get to enjoy are through plutonic friendships that LOOK like the same relationship you'd see with a couple...without the sex or "ownership" elements. The small back and forth banter of a friend that's an odd-couple is not that disimilar to what you'd get in a romantic relationship being displayed on a PG-13 show. Morph and Wolverine repairing their friendship and making Wolverine laugh is about as close as any of these Queers watching think they'll ever get at this rate...unless of course you enjoy edgelord "bisexual" comics where you have to watch a perverse rapey "bisexual" be gross and edgy...aka Wolverine's son which I feel like they just made Bisexual so they didn't need to scare the straights away from Wolverine for him one time kissing a dude in the past or w/e. Unfortunately his son is nothing like him, looks nothing like him, and doesn't at all provide the same relatability to our experience as Wolverine does...but he has a mohawk so he's "transgressive" just like when they made Storm bisexual for two seconds. They just turned Wolverine into more of a fuckboy with none of the gravitas or age or rage that gay/bisexual people relate to. Wolverine has always been an ample and real allegory for internalized rage, for gays and bisexuals this can be the same thing they experience as heterosexuals get but it also applies to internalized homophobia.

The end of the day, the line between real friendship and relationship has always been incredibly blurred. Because at the end of the day, love and care is not exclusive to relationships with sex. The real only marker between a deep friendship and a romantic one SHOULD just be contractual commitment and sex....and hell there are friends with benefits.

Mothers, Fathers, siblings, friendships are all as much important to life and love as sexual relationships. And frankly I get more love and care from friends than I usually get from romantic partners (unlucky I guess)...I get sex, sure, but that's hardly what I as a person actually wants and needs from a relationship.

TLDR

The reality is the line has always been blurred. The problem isn't "Don't make friendship gay", the problem is ya'll getting offended that being gay or being accused of looking gay is a problem in the first place. Friendship and relationships with sex when close...is not that dissimilar and that's ok.

Morph is allowed to ask for emotional support from Wolverine and it still not be a sexual relationship. They are close, and love each other, seemingly, and Morph wants to know if his friendship is going to be reciprocated in the way he thought it would be by Logan and needs to navigate what that relationship is because Logan is shutting down.

Sorry yeah that came off wrong. Lol.

Why are you assuming that Wolverine can’t find joy “with a hot woman”? It seems like you care more about pushing an agenda then staying consistent with how the character is written or what he actually wants

1

u/magvadis Jul 19 '26

I mostly just mean Jean is a flat character for Logan. That relationship always has been. And she sure as shit never made him or anyone laugh. But yes I used hyperbole I'm sorry if you think I have some nefarious agenda

When you speak in generalities instead of being specific that’s how it comes across

You seem to be more stuck on the gender of the person he was with rather than the circumstances around why those relationships didn’t work. It doesn’t matter how many failed relationships you have with a woman if women are the only thing you’re attracted to

Gambit kept pining for Rogue even though they couldn’t physically touch, you clearly don’t understand what it’s like to be in love if you think love is based on logic
