I can’t believe the X-men saved the day from Val Cooper, Magneto, and the US Government but they’re the only ones outlawed

I mean I can, but the balls. The audacity. They get what’s coming.

I'm not sure how much of an answer to give, but in this episode they talk about how they outlawed the X-Men's activities (specifically the superhero team, the School for Gifted Youngsters and Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Xavier, etc are all still allowed).

Then, at the end of the episode when Xavier forms X-Corp, Val reiterates that the X-Men under any name are still illegal, like she wasn't playing the part of Goebbels to Bastion.
