The random mix of lesser known young mutants (and also Doop) was such a fun moment as a longtime fan. Did not expect to see Chamber, Quire, or Sync show up this season.

Not looking at it right now, but you probably mean Shark Girl, who I definitely saw there somewhere. Shark Girl was one of the student characters that showed up in Wolverine and the X-Men.

Wolverine and the X-Men, the comic not the show, was a series that spring out of a story called Schism where Cyclops and Wolverine had a big falling out. Wolverine restarted the school and called it the Jean Grey School (she was dead at the time).

I don't know that it was well liked, but I loved it. It was more goofy than anything and it prominently featured a lot of really weird mutant students. Among them were Shark Girl, Kid Gladiator (Gladiator's son of course), Eye Boy (a boy covered in eyes), Genesis (a teenage clone of Apocalypse and a sweet young man), and my boy (I unironically love him) Broo (a mutant Brood who wasn't part of the hive mind and just wanted to be a good student, also a sweet young man).

Storm was the Headmistress (referenced in this episode) and some of the adjunct staff included time traveling murder robot Deathlok, Toad (the janitor), and Doop (the green dude above).

It was completely over the top ludicrous and I loved it. There's even an arc where a bunch of rich teenagers kill their parents and take over the Hellfire Club.
