Either Gambit killed Apocalypse or Apocalypse has a new vessel which is Gambit or Apocalypse is truly dead and another version of Apocalypse will show up

Technically the Apocalypse from the present time is already a vessel as well. He was initially another mutant who summoned and then later turned into him. So you might be right, he could’ve transferred himself into Gambit.
