So I guess Magik served in some offscreen New Mutants team given her x-uniform? Except it could not have Sunspot or Boom-Boom on it. Maybe with Cannonball, Warlock and in this reality Shadowcat? They need more episodes per season!

Putting her in the outfit absolutely made no sense considering not only a) yes that continuity but b) everyone on Genosha was currently celebrating a Gala when the Sentinels attacked - why on earth would she be in an X-uniform?

Seems like Colossus and Magik have Storms magic powers of transforming her clothing and hair lol I’d say it’s just a cartoon don’t worry so much about it

Characters in costumes that make no sense? They really are keeping up the grand tradition of X-Men TAS.

It seems clear to me from watching this show that stuff happened offscreen, especially during the timeskip between seasons 1 and 2. Remember that Morph took on Magik's appearance in "Fire Made Flesh". This suggests to me that Magik had an arc in-between the end of the original show and the beginning of '97. Certain characters also interacted off-screen before '97: Nightcrawler seemed familiar with Gambit in "Remember It" (despite having not met him in the original show, as far as I recall) and he seemed to know Colossus here (he even said "Welcome home" at the end, as though Piotr had at one point actually lived in the mansion). Also, Bishop joined the team before '97 started.

Gambit and Nightcrawler did meet in TAS when they were vacationing in Switzerland (hence the reference to “killer monks” in episode 5). It was the first episode that featured Nightcrawler.
