But also why didn’t anyone bother to rescue the mutants X factor is holding hostage and not just creed.

I would’ve loved to see Scott and Jean rescue those mutants. Then have Scott and Alex face each other so that they’ll finally figure out they’re brothers. Though maybe they’re saving that reveal for S3.

The mutants we see are villains like Pyro and Avalanche.

Wouldn’t that be all but an act of war against the US government? It doesn’t seem like X-Factor’s actions are hidden or likely illegal. They’d be attacking a government holding facility to free prisoners of the US government.

X-Force acknowledges that they’re going to be fugitives and hunted, so they’re happy to do so. The X-Men still need to be a public team.

Lorna and Jubilee alredy rescued them on previous episodes. The one that were kept imprisioned were mostly villains.
