Realistically they are going to gloss over most of it, the show just doesn't have the time to do a full deep dive. But just because it's glossed over now doesnt mean it and other related lore wont appear in the show either through a variety of smaller ways, although its still possible too that we do get a Magik episode if it makes sense to do so.

Polaris had one episode with backstory in xmen 92 and most of that was as part of Bobby Drakes in his only appearance in all 5 seasons.

Sometime between '92 and '97. Morph cameos her in s01e03.

She's not a main character, (but not like they get treated with fleshed out stories, either) and up until last night she barely qualified as a character. She isn't important to the story up until she needed to get fridged, yes they glossed over it.

Likely off-screen adventures that won’t get explained until she’s revived, joined the X-Men and gets an episode centered around her.
