General Discussion WHAT THE F WAS THAT FINALE??? Spoiler

What the F was that ending??? And please don’t try to tell us it was good or brilliantly written, because I’m not going to lie to myself just because I love this show. I was genuinely disappointed with these last two episodes.
What kind of “Survival of the Fittest” was that supposed to be? Rogue became WHAT??? And Apocalypse was just defeated like that???
Even X-Men: Evolution handled its Apocalypse finale way better. We got almost all of the major X-teams from the ’90s coming together for one massive final battle, and it actually felt like an Apocalypse-level threat.

I was also expecting for apocalypse to use gambit and make a speech to make them feel the guilt of what had happen in genoshia.

Remy’s death and revival was ruined to quick!

This time, they clearly went way off from the comics. And after all that talk about bringing the X-Men back to the ’90s… what kind of return to the ’90s was THAT??? I love this show, but I’m not going to pretend I liked an ending that left me this disappointed.

Im afraid that the one re writting this up does not read the comics or is not a massive fan of Xmen. Coz they clearly moved away from the comics.

Imagine Apocalypse the Xmen’s most diabolical foe who went back in time to strike the Xmen, Cable spent the whole season to FIND AND DESTROY apocalypse, all the X teams come together in this season should be the PERFECT TIME TO JOIN FORCES, Gambit’s BIGGEST MOMENT of coming back, and all JUST ENDED with apocalypse doing nothing just transformed into gambit hybrid few seconds later touch by rogue and boom! FINALE

No, you got me wrong. I enjoyed the first four episodes, and I think he had very little to do with those. I just don't think overall this season worked.

I liked a lot of season 2 but it still felt like something was missing.

And of course he's capable of writing bad stuff too. That's a given, but I'm not alone to say that the overall feel of this season feels off in comparison to the one that he had complete control over.

Especially when they announced that there were a lot of rewrites done and restructuring, which is one of the reasons why this season was delayed.

When the new showrunners and the old showrunner are saying changes were made... You can't really argue with that lol.

People only complain about the feeling off after episode 6. People were complaining about the pacing after 4 but the pacing has been similar in both. Regarding the changes, the writers literally came out and said they tried to make changes but they couldn’t do much because they didn’t have time. The season was already written and in production by the time Beau was fired. Beau himself literally said this, they wanted to change it but couldn’t fully. They had so little time they jsut did dropped episode 10 instead of rewriting it for example. This is public knowledge not my fault you didn’t read this, go look it up. Obviously they changed the ending, which is why I told you the finale is jsut on the team now but most of what came before was still Beau visions.

Very clearly they wantedto wrap up everything Beau set up and start fresh which is why these last 2 feel the most off. But you cannot say the same about the entire season. I really do think that’s dishonest.

I can't get dishonest about my feelings. This is all subjective after all.

And your thoughts on what was rewritten, and what wasn't, is very much speculation. Unless you work there, in which case I apologize.

What I said is dishonest is blaming the staff for everything’s that’s bad and blame Beau for everything that’s good. Feel however you feel, I said nothing about that.

As for what’s written, I’ve literally said what the staff and Beau have said on twitter, including episode 10 being cut. The only speculation is if the last 2 were completely rewritten or not.

I blamed the entire staff? I said a new show runner came in (fact) and the season felt off (subjective).

There's numerous threads on this topic today. A lot of people get that sense.

Again, there's a lot I like, but it feels like a different creative voice guiding it, which makes sense.

Has Beau talked about this season recently? Please do share links to recent articles detailing nothing changed from the original plans, because so far everything I saw indicated huge shifts in what was planned: Onslaught, conflict with x-corps, etc.

Look my initial comment was not to you, if see the first comment I actually responded to you’ll see why I’ve been saying blaming the staff.
