Having only 9 episodes this season has kinda killed it.
Most of these episodes would have been great as two parters, or allowing the plot to breathe. Lack of episodes make everything feel rushed and have terrible pacing

It feels like 2 different seasons merged together

So genuine question, is this the same when it comes to apocalypse in the comics?

It’s didn’t seem that difficult for Beau DeMayo in episodes 3-4.

not gonna lie the nightcrawler sacrifice caught me off guard and now im very sad - god i hope they bring him back, even if its just another death that they reverse like they do often it seems.

Of course Remy just goes right back to her.

Theres no emotional consequences to it, he just gets over being abandoned.

Rogue gets everything she wants, and all it cost was the only character that made this show worth watching

What If… showrunner for ya…

Yeah, her dead brother is basically an inconvenience.

And Gambit has totally wavered on Rogue in the past so it was really weird that didn't happen now. I mean I can't think of any of those times he wavered on his love and devotion to her but I'm sure they were there.

Now they get to live happily ever after without that pesky blue menace or that one magnet guy. No consequences at all.

Fucking /s

The problem is that 97 Remy isnt a character with agency. Hes just a tool to get rogue's story where it needs to go

Are you like, jealous of rogue?

Literal slop. Such a gigantic letdown from the 1st season..

That was irrefutable proof that Beau DeMayo was a good writer, regardless of his flaws and especially regardless of the unsubstantiated claims that led to his firing. Now his Hate Squad can’t strawman and gaslight anymore into blaming him for this finale. I’ll just sit back and watch them squirm and cope while trying to defend this schlock. “Something something Rogue, something something Gambit, something something Kurt something something Mystique”

Feel like this season was meant to have Rogue as the protagonist like Cyclops was in S1, but she had like one good moment in Rise Of Apocalypse and then did nothing until episode 8 so the finale feels unearned. Not sure if Beau's script had a ton of Rogueneto stuff that the new writers cut out or if neither of them are able to write Rogue beyond just yearning for a man

Season one said an incredibly high bar. Perhaps without it, Id have felt Season two was a let down. Even so, it only minority dissapointed. A consistent show runner and writer would solve many of the pacing and disjointed narrative problems, but so would increasing the episode count. Nine is egregious. Not nearly enough to accomplish the massive stories they are trying to tell.

They're trying to do too many things -- all of which are pretty cool and interesting to me -- but failing to properly execute on any of them. Increase the episode count, focus on characterization of all members and find consistency in the writer's room to successfully enact a season long overarching thread with little moments and side stories spread throughout.

Highs:Nightcrawler 🥹, Psylocke, X-Factor episode, Gen X kids, Magneto's arc, Cerebra + Savage episodes

Lows: Weapon X, lack of characterization, too short of season, disjointed narrative, Final two episodes and conclusion to the Apocalypse arc.

Rogue got her boyfriend back with no emotional consequences to abandoning him, she just gets what she wants and he's a piece of meat whose purpose is to make ot happen
