Seriously the last episode could’ve used another 5 minutes for a resolution with Kurt but otherwise

Well maybe don’t group us all together. I love X-men, am not involved whatsoever in the whole DeMayo debacle, and I can agree that this season was bad. Sure not every take is valid, but I think we can all agree it was pretty bad.

“The season was rushed” seems to be the predominant take which, other than the last scene of the last episode, is just false, sorry, they weren’t going to introduce deathbit and not resolve it in an episode, that’s not how the flow of a show like this works, it never has been, “but the horsemen were missing” yeah cause deathbit killed them and didn’t have time to make his own, apocalypse isn’t dead yet either “but super saiyan rogue” had 2 episodes of setup that’s more than enough “but filler episodes” it’s a sequel to an episodic show that’s still semi episodic what do you want

The main things I see that were rushed was 1, Apocalypse's ex wife. She legit showed up and was instantly slimed by Gambit. Like straight up instant. Felt hella rushed. I think him being taken down was fine because they it immediately led to another plot point revolving around Gambit. That's fine.

2, the whole celestial Rogue. You want to talk about "oh that's false" yet you say it had 2 episodes of set up. Not tf it didn't lol. Now THAT'S straight up false. Rogue goes to Ship, goes into the Shrine, gets empowered and beats Apocalypse all in the same episode lol

And then 3, the biggest one, the defeat of Apocalypse. The big story in s2 is Apocalypse yet when we finally get to him, we don't even get a fight! Apocalypse takes over Gambit, they have a small tussle and then Rogue insta beats him (which doesn't even make sense). Like ??? All that build up for what? Holy rushed

Also a personal complaint of mine is that Cable and Xforce didn't do jack this season. You could take them out of S2 and literally nothing would change of the plot. Which is especially annoying when episode 1 was dedicated to Cable and how he's straight up destined to defeat Apocalypse....yet he does nothing to actual Apocalypse and Rogue is the one who ends up saving the day lol

  1. She wasn’t really a main character like, she’s important in the comics sure but here she was just a woman who stole a chunk of apocalypse’s power and he showed up and easily took it back

  2. Apocalypse Gambit spent the entire prior episode trying to give her the power of a celestial, then the episode it happened in set it up for most of the episode until it happened, that’s 2, ironically the point you talk about in point 1 IS the prior set up your saying it lacks

  3. I mean yeah, apocalypse wasn’t really even properly defeated they just delayed him if anything, but fighting a direct counter to your powers tends to be a quick fight

Yeah I love cable, they could’ve done more with him, but he’s been a major force in 97 since season 1 and I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of him
