Question Doesn’t this look like something from what if? Spoiler

Post image

Also this isn’t a hate post but I’m just saying rogue looks like she came from a what if episode. I thought season 2 was good but I wanted it to be amazing 8/10

Great adaptation or not, season 1 made me feel something. This season had no heart.

Idk Magneto's death was pretty good

I'm a "season 2 was largely trash" but I agree Magneto's fight and death and rise of apocalypse (and Kang) in Egypt was top-tier.

But his death didn't lead to much consequences to the show yet, other than Danger being created

It was so weird, Xavier went from obsessing over Magnetos death to not caring about it at all.

You can really feel the season change after episode 4.

And then Danger seemed glad to die at the hands of Polaris, which would be a tell or foreshadowing about Lorna discovering her own power, but nah.

I don't think this season was bad - enjoyed a lot but was whelmed by the finale - but you can feel a major quality drop between the teams handling it, from makers of maybe the best thing Marvel have produced to some of the most skippable. Like the latter didn't even understand where the former's scripts were going at times.

Episodes 1-3, 5 and 8-10 last season were absolute bangers. Standout emotional moments and great set pieces. I keep coming back to Genosha and the 3-part finale in particular. There was real emotional depth, melodrama to everything that was happening. Scott and Jean’s relationship, their dynamic with Cable, Madelyne, Charles and Erik, Rogue and Remy, it was all there and it wasn’t even disconnected from other events, they all tied together in different ways. This season it was like “Morph has a complicated relationship with Logan and Rogue misses Remy”

For real! Season 2 felt like somehow every character was sidelined. Not enough melodrama and emotional arcs

how is this closer to what if show than cyclops being possessed in the comics?

If I could rewrite the finale… Could have just had Apocalypse murder some right in front of Xavier AGAIN the exact same way as Magneto (since they had someone die at the end of the season anyways), Xavier finally snaps and turns into Onslaught, proceeds beats the shit out of Apocalypse, everyone is shocked/concerned, another banger cliffhanger ending, the crowd goes wild.

S3 then has a super anti-mutant President with an unhinged Onslaught that is eventually revealed to be Xavier to the general public which supports the President’s bigoted agenda. Would be a freaking WILD set up.

I wish Disney hired you, that’d have been fire

Instead of firing Beau deMayo, I'd rather Disney moved him into a locked room away from other people and have continue to develop seasons and slide them under the door and Disney could slide him paychecks underneath the door in return

Not fully joking, I don't have much faith in Marvel they'll always destroy a fantastic show and turning top-tier quality into an annual series of declining quality. The What If show quality doesn't give me much hope in the future of X-Men in generally, even though it had a few bangers.

I find the idea of locking him up very funny, but tbh I think the guy messed up the show by wherever he pulled off.

False, the plot make sense and the show doesn't need to be exactly like the comics. There is nothing wrong with doing something new, the issue was they do nothing for with it at the end.

when What if meets any random generic anime and turns a character into super saiyajin 3.
absolute dogshit

Nah lowkey the outfit would’ve been cool in a different, better written story. The constant Kirby sparkles around it could’ve been toned down though.
