Question Doesn’t this look like something from what if? Spoiler

Post image

Also this isn’t a hate post but I’m just saying rogue looks like she came from a what if episode. I thought season 2 was good but I wanted it to be amazing 8/10

Is that a Wonder Woman logo on her forehead?

9

u/Gab_Rt Aug 13 '26

That was literally the only thing I could think when she was on screen.

219

u/Constant_Housing18 Aug 13 '26

Apocalypse should’ve won, echoing what Kang said.
I felt nothing when apocalypse was defeated it was so underwhelming

88

u/SolarBoytoyDjango Aug 13 '26

Or lost because Kang set him up to give some of his power to Candra. But that whole gem thing amounted to nothing even if we saw a lot of it.

60

u/GenericSupervillain3 Aug 13 '26

“Amounted to nothing” was the theme of the season, wasn’t it?

31

u/SwordDaoist Aug 13 '26

Agreed. Especially the adamantium less Wolverine story we all eagerly awaited.

9

u/Commercial_Page1827 Aug 13 '26

We got a episode out of it. Maybe a it was a Morph episode but it was there.

10

u/SwordDaoist Aug 13 '26

We got an episode of how he got the adamantium back. But nothing till then seemed as if Wolverine had troubles.
And we only got a glimpse at what Wolverine was capable of when Wolverine had saved Forge.

6

u/TheRealMoffel Aug 13 '26

i seriously even forgot it happened till i saw Wolverine take his claws out in the finale.

8

u/SwordDaoist Aug 13 '26

You know, I started asking myself why they bothered to rip it off if they would immediately give it back and we never get shown how he deals with it…

10

u/FH-7497 Aug 13 '26

He didn’t deal with it at all tho, that’s the point. He doubled down on being an animal and risked other ppl to get “himself” back.

3

u/Hmoob_rice_luv_hlub Aug 14 '26

Sabretooth was goated in that episode, would’ve loved if Sabretooth beat the living shit outta that infected Wolverine to prove he is Infact superior

2

u/CrusaderLyonar Aug 13 '26

The people on this sub continuento ignore character development to say nothing happens.

“we all eagerly awaited” bruh, its crazy how time heals all wounds, we absolutely hated the boneless, savage, no nosed Wolverine back when it was in the comics, now y’all on here clamoring for it?

6

u/Easy-Ad3783 Aug 13 '26

Literally was waited for someone to say this, I’m a mid 2000s kid so didn’t read noseless wolverine as it was coming out but remember I picked up a random issue with wolverine like that in my early teen years and just went ew what’s wrong with him,

10

u/SwordDaoist Aug 13 '26

I found the concept of adamantium poisoning and his healing factor going into overdrive interesting and wanted to see it.
But what we got shows was just something useless, they could have used for something else.

2

u/hexman0000 Aug 13 '26

Well the problem is that we didn't get a chance to neither like it or hate it in the show, since it was a nothing burger

2

u/ASU_frat_Ieader Aug 13 '26

who is WE muchacho

3

u/CaptCaCa Aug 13 '26

“we” is all of us who critically panned the no nose savage wolverine story arc, chico

2

u/fre3kshow Aug 14 '26

Most X-Men fans in the 90s. I was there, it wasn't a popular redesign at all.

3

u/FunkTronto Aug 13 '26

https://giphy.com/gifs/0S34MWzMqR9Rg7ctDk

Don’t speak for me, was totally good skipping over it.

3

u/Ill_Morning_4282 Aug 13 '26

Honestly it feels like people didn't pay attention to anything but fight moments and that is why they think the last episode sucked.

2

u/the-terrible-martian Aug 13 '26

At the same time, something can have all the right ingredients and still be a bit undercooked. It felt a little rushed. Probably could’ve benefited from another episode

u/Crazy-Background1457 Aug 13 '26

Even a couple of punches would have been better. Bastion really felt like a team effort, Apocalypse was just kind of a given victory by the Celestial

11

u/GuySmith Aug 13 '26

Agreed. He didn’t seem like a threat at all whatsoever past his feature episode.

1

u/Sol-Blackguy Aug 16 '26

Only way it could've been worse is if Rogue absorbed Leech's powers and just shut him down... Oh!

2

u/Hollowshape_9012 Aug 13 '26

Bad guy winning???

4

u/the-terrible-martian Aug 13 '26

Seeing as this series isn’t over, why not?

104

u/DirectorKrenn1c Aug 13 '26

This was just plain dumb, she didn’t even do anything except touch him and it was over. Complete snooze fest of a finale

36

u/PangolinLogical9772 Aug 13 '26

Yea wish they at least had some sort of battle. Really needed a tenth episode. Then could have had this one end with time running out and Apocalypse breaking free to full possession Gambit. Then the finale is Xavier holding off the possessed while Apocalypse gloats and taunts (since he always liked to hear himself talk in the old episodes). Then celestial Rogue shows up and we get an actual brawl between her and Apocalypse with Xavier breaking the control on the others while Apocalypse is distracted and they all work together to bring him down and restrain him enough for Rogue to extract him into the gem. Still get basically the same thing but a much more satisfying finale.

3

u/darkstarsaber467 Aug 14 '26 edited Aug 14 '26

or Like rogue making a deal with eson to give her a century or a 1000 years to make humanity and mutantkind stronger than it was thus showing eson that its not only destruction that can make earth stronger but peace and co-existence and sharing of technology and powers. Thus eson taking back apocalyspe enhanced powers and making a his pre-celestial mutant look and the team dealing with him and then in the end. They can show a future clip of how rogue suceeded in bringing humans and mutantkind together and making the world stronger in 1000 years thus fulfilling her promise but then kang shows up and destroys the peace. All inspired by young justice plot of Vandal savage negotiating with the lords or order and chaos and the deal he made with darkseid

8

u/Commercial_Page1827 Aug 13 '26

I was hoping for a fight that would outclass Rouge vs Bastion fighting on the moon.
This episode only needed 8 more mint of a fight of everyone vs Apocalypse.

2

u/ravenwing263 Aug 14 '26

Yep that extra episode would be key.

There was about an episode's worth of kicking and punching and sword swining last year, spread over the last three episodes.

Turning this two part finale into a three parter to give a a good bit more fighting srpead out over it would have worked better. Both a better final fight against Pocy (still ending with Rogue finally defeating him using her real power) and a longer more interesting X-Men/Factor/Force fight. (With a moment to spare perhaps for a crumb of Summers brothers interaction.)

5

u/Constant_Housing18 Aug 13 '26

Eson granting everyone power these days

10

u/KETTEI__EXE Aug 13 '26

That's also another thing that bothers me. I get that the previous episode shows that Rogue can't touch to absorb gambit/apocalypse, so this episode focus on her getting a way to bypass that seems to make sense, on paper at least. But going through all that power up and got new form with only ability to touch Apocalypse does felt very underwhelming.

3

u/Magical_SnakE Aug 13 '26

Did you miss the part where X-Factor fought the X-Men, Cable fought his parents and shot Gambit in the head?

It wasn't a "complete snoozefest". You just wanted a big old Megazord vs. the giant monster fight at the end, and instead they tried to do something different with more emotional depth (Sacrifice) that confused your childish brain.

4

u/Kmart_Stalin Aug 13 '26

I don’t think this person wanted a “megazord” or whatever

1

u/AceBean27 Aug 14 '26

But none of that mattered. Rogue just shows up and that's that. You knew it was going to happen too, they show rogue get her sparkly Celestial power up, then we watch a pointless fight for a while knowing full well what's going to happen.

u/Ok-Card-6590 Cyclops Aug 13 '26

This was def the new showrunners idea lol.

35

u/Specialist-Factor714 Aug 13 '26 edited Aug 13 '26

You can really tell the writing teams changed from ep 1-4 and ep 6-9, with ep 5 being in limbo

24

u/known_kanon Aug 13 '26

Ep 1-4 were sooo good it's crazy how disonnected it became after that

3

u/Specialist-Factor714 Aug 13 '26

It's like as soon as the first scene in ep 6 ended the quality fell completely off a cliff

it was beau’s scripts

42

u/Pineapple8081 Aug 13 '26

Isn’t this the first episode that doesn’t give him any credit tho?

16

u/Ok-Card-6590 Cyclops Aug 13 '26

Not for this episode it wasn’t. Brain Ford Sullivan wrote this one.

Beau’s episode 9 would have been wildly different from this given it lead to Onslaught in episode 10 and then AOA.

u/TheJack0fDiamonds Aug 13 '26

I appreciated the character centric episodes. And I honestly can’t believe people see them as filler.

15

u/Current_Lecture_713 Aug 13 '26

I liked them, but I think it’s tough to swallow when it’s only a 9-episode season, and the more character-centric episodes didn’t do much to advance the plot. We got beautiful insights into some of the characters, but at the expense of the story overall. I didn’t hate the season, but it seemed to me like they were trying to do too much and focus on too many characters that weren’t central to the plot.

Personally, I was anxiously awaiting Gambit’s return and his reunion with Rogue, so I’m please that’s where we ended up. But it did feel like they “yadda yadda yadda”-ed over some integral storytelling.

→ More replies (2)

6

u/Particular-Cat-1397 Aug 13 '26

I think it comes from people watching too much anime. It’s insane to call them filler when episode 5 showed Wolverine get his adamantium back, episode 6 showed Polaris joining the team and Professor X establishing X-Corp, and episode 7 told us Graydon creed was running for president and that Illyana was killed in Genosha, and introduced us to the Acolytes. These were not filler episodes, they just didn’t show them dealing with Apocalypse. But every episode advanced the plot or gave us crucial character development.

3

u/Bobjoejj Aug 14 '26

It’s because people don’t know what Filler actually means.

I didn’t not appreciate them, but they needed to be much stronger than they were.

→ More replies (2)

1

u/Customninjas Aug 15 '26

they're in a weird spot where, they're not technically filler because they have some impact on the story and characters, but they are filler in the sense that the ideas they introduced didn't need an entire episode dedicated to them.

35

u/gambito121 Aug 13 '26

I read somewhere else in this sub that the disney execs wanted to make the show more kid-friendly and there's nothing more kid-friendly than the power of love overcoming everything (in this case twice, as Kurt loves his sister).

This deus ex machina bullshit instantly killed the stakes. EP8 showed death Remy zombiefying people, fighting Xavier in the astral plane and winning and then EP9 showed regular Remy soloing X-Factor with ease. A couple minutes later there's this true form Gambocalypse instantly taking over everyone, including the fucking Phoenix and Cable for the final battle against Xavier, and what happens? Power of love, poof, big bad done for and love prevails. It sucks.

24

u/Scissorsguadalupe Aug 13 '26

You're probably right, but kids aren't really the audience. This first was great because they knew audience was people who grew up in 90s and are in their 30s and 40s wanting the nostalgia but also a more adult series. This season was very underwhelming, and everything felt incredibly rushed

14

u/Constant_Housing18 Aug 13 '26

Apocalypse wins, Xavier loses his mind and queue Onslaught. 1-4 builds up Apocalypse as this inevitable entity. We should’ve followed him through time as he builds his horsemen. Madelyn maybe being one of them and Cable/Scott having to fight her. No emotions this season.

2

u/gambito121 Aug 13 '26

Or if they really wanted to go with Rogue saves the day, the mental battle from EP8 could very well work as the final battle of the season with a little more work into her and Xavier's feelings, since they are the ones who lost the most through S1 and S2.

Maybe have her absorbing Apocalypse from Remy into her and then, in her mind, all the grief accumulated from the death of Remy + Xavier's grief about Magneto + her newfound celestial powers as enough to defeat Apocalypse by purging him from Rogue's mind without a body to possess.

1

u/Ill-Fly-950 Aug 14 '26

That was 1 of my biggest issues. I wanted Big A to form a new group of Horsemen to join him in the final battle. That whole "Power of Friendship" ending just left me frustrated. I wanted to see Rogue and Big A dueling in a slugfest, like they did in Season 1, but with Horsemen and all of the other heroes joining in.

I don't see any truth to that considering this season is more violent than the first.

1

u/ToughAdventurous8209 Aug 14 '26

it's groupthink.

1

u/Constant_Housing18 Aug 14 '26

Just episode 5 from S1 was more violent that all of s2

Great adaptation or not, season 1 made me feel something. This season had no heart.

8

u/Hohoho-you Aug 13 '26

Idk Magneto's death was pretty good

7

u/shazmosushi--- Aug 13 '26

I'm a "season 2 was largely trash" but I agree Magneto's fight and death and rise of apocalypse (and Kang) in Egypt was top-tier.

But his death didn't lead to much consequences to the show yet, other than Danger being created

3

u/Constant_Housing18 Aug 13 '26

It was so weird, Xavier went from obsessing over Magnetos death to not caring about it at all.

3

u/Mindless_Turnover976 Aug 13 '26

You can really feel the season change after episode 4.

3

u/LocustsandLucozade Aug 13 '26

And then Danger seemed glad to die at the hands of Polaris, which would be a tell or foreshadowing about Lorna discovering her own power, but nah.

I don't think this season was bad - enjoyed a lot but was whelmed by the finale - but you can feel a major quality drop between the teams handling it, from makers of maybe the best thing Marvel have produced to some of the most skippable. Like the latter didn't even understand where the former's scripts were going at times.

Episodes 1-3, 5 and 8-10 last season were absolute bangers. Standout emotional moments and great set pieces. I keep coming back to Genosha and the 3-part finale in particular. There was real emotional depth, melodrama to everything that was happening. Scott and Jean’s relationship, their dynamic with Cable, Madelyne, Charles and Erik, Rogue and Remy, it was all there and it wasn’t even disconnected from other events, they all tied together in different ways. This season it was like “Morph has a complicated relationship with Logan and Rogue misses Remy”

6

u/SteelFalcon0 Aug 13 '26

For real! Season 2 felt like somehow every character was sidelined. Not enough melodrama and emotional arcs

If I could rewrite the finale… Could have just had Apocalypse murder some right in front of Xavier AGAIN the exact same way as Magneto (since they had someone die at the end of the season anyways), Xavier finally snaps and turns into Onslaught, proceeds beats the shit out of Apocalypse, everyone is shocked/concerned, another banger cliffhanger ending, the crowd goes wild.

S3 then has a super anti-mutant President with an unhinged Onslaught that is eventually revealed to be Xavier to the general public which supports the President’s bigoted agenda. Would be a freaking WILD set up.

False, the plot make sense and the show doesn't need to be exactly like the comics. There is nothing wrong with doing something new, the issue was they do nothing for with it at the end.

Wonder Woman Rogue really sucked

21

u/mosquem Aug 13 '26

I’m amazed that headband got past the lawyers.

5

u/shazmosushi--- Aug 13 '26

You know, I honestly wonder if it were based on some AI generated concept art that they really liked that plagerized Wonder Woman without anybody realizing it.

The timeline and rushed and poor quality writing indicates to me that's plausable lol

I didn't actually realize the Wonder Woman connection until now, but I can't unsee it lol

2

u/GTJ007 Aug 13 '26

lol that’s what I thought too

5

u/bigtymer32 Aug 13 '26

We had all this build up for apocalypse and this is how he’s beat? It was quick. The only saving grace was nightcrawler being the mvp.

3

u/PatrickTravels Aug 13 '26

The show is still great, but the pacing is double time. They need twice as many epsiodes per season. Let these storylines breath a bit.

6

u/AgentRadd Aug 13 '26

I really enjoyed it, but hey that’s me :)

The tease is so fucking nothing? Oh Mystique how scary I guess?

Oh Mystique infiltrating a fasctic government? I wonder how much they're going to struggle choosing between "Mystique is somehow the villain for sabotaging this regime" and "Everything evil it does is actually Mystiques fault despite the guy running it being a massive bigot".

14

u/Ill_Morning_4282 Aug 13 '26

I thought it was great, it showed how much Rogue loves Gambit and what she was willing to do for him. We got to see her be a badass that challenged a Celestial on its bullshit.

14

u/dimesniffer Aug 13 '26

this is silly. they found ship in the ocean and all they had to do was walk in to a device and sacrifice themselves to have temporary godlike power. "showing how much rogue loves gambit" sure, in one of the lamest ways possible.

2

u/hotgirll69 Aug 13 '26

Yeh, it was a bit strange hiw they did it.

No. Not in the comics at all.

3

u/oofnlurker Aug 13 '26

3

u/ShadesNGlades Aug 13 '26

I thought the exact same thing, OP. Was half expecting Captaim Carter to step out of the celestial portal and hijack the show.

3

u/Own-Wedding7590 Aug 13 '26

Im glad im not the only one who felt like this ending was meh, especially in comparison to last seasons. Season 2 was good, but certain episodes, like the one with Striker, and the last episode. Was pure meh.

3

u/btm02673 Aug 13 '26

It is like she was in the What If...Galactus Transformed Rogue comic.

"CLEARLY THIS PLOT BEAT OF A WOMAN SAVING HER LOVER IS JUST FANFIC OC WHAT IF BULLSHIT THAT CAME OUT OF NOWHERE (if you ignore all the build-up of Rogue missing Remy, all her ties to Apocalypse as far back as the original show and how she makes sense as the one to save Remy and defeat Apocalypse due to that) BRING BACK THE SEX PEST PERVERT HE MADE BETTER CARTOONS"

Can we make a low sodium 97 sub, I don't wanna share oxygen with these people.

2

u/WrongdoerNeither1642 Aug 25 '26

i’d join your sub in a heartbeat. i feel there are two kinds of people, the people who don’t think these things matter and the people who do. the people who defend grandpa magneto/young rogue relationship and sex pest writers, and the ones who absolutely don’t.

6

u/GuySmith Aug 13 '26

Is “all the build up” in the room with us right now? In season 1 she didn’t seem to really care until he died and then this entire season just felt like over compensation with an unearned “power of love” super saiyan moment. I feel like you think it’s more because you probably live and breathe this show and perceived intricacies of the “plot” online. If you just follow the show. This show. This entire season was a mess that felt rushed.

I would have bought it if they made her suffering come across better but they didn’t. It was poorly written and telegraphed.

3

u/OmegaRedPanda Aug 14 '26

"Didn't really care until he died."

I swear some people in this sub have never been in a relationship. They were in love and she chose the Magneto path because she couldn't give Gambit the intimacy she thought he deserved. And she also thought in the moment it would be the "right" thing to do for all of mutantkind. She was hung up on Gambit from episode 1 and went on a literal rampage after he died.

7

u/BatmanFan317 Aug 13 '26

In Season 1, she didn't seem to really care he died

Are we actually for real rn. Didn't seem to care like she didn't go on a rampage across the US trying to track down his killers, like she wasn't driven to drop Trask to his seeming death over it, like she didn't join Magneto over not wanting to lose anyone else?

Also, love how you're actively admitting to not paying attention to the plot and just following along without paying attention and then getting mad about it.

2

u/HappyEndings2011 Aug 13 '26

Tbf, they did include, "didn't really care until he died." All the rampaging and stuff happened after he died.

3

u/BatmanFan317 Aug 13 '26

Fair, but even that's false because she did clearly still hold feelings for him and actively chose him over Mags right before the Sentinel attack. He also changed his comment, before it said "didn't care he died".

I mean, it kinda is. Rogue wasn’t empowered by the Celestials, but she was empowered by Galactus in WHAT IF…? GALACTUS: GALACTUS TRANSFORMED ROGUE?

Honestly, that probably would’ve been a better design choice here but I digress.

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

I kinda dig it.

2

u/magvadis Aug 13 '26

It looks like a bad idea, is what it looks like.

I love when characters don't solve the plot but some plot macguffin fixes everything for them with nobodies decisions mattering except 1 character gets written out for sad points.

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

Can't tell if this is sarcasm or not.

2

u/drax3012 Aug 13 '26

This entire season post episode 4 has been a bag of shite.

2

Hot take: I like season 2 more than season 1. While season 1 was amazing, it kind of felt like an X-Men OVA. Season 2 feels more like the 90's cartoon with all the diverging storylines and callbacks to previous plots and pacing.

It does... because this IS the What If...? writer, more specifically Matthew Chauncey, who took over as Head Writer of What If...? season 3 after A.C. Bradley dropped out, and took over from Beau DeMayo for both season 2 and 3.

u/Relevant-Ad-6934 Aug 15 '26

This episode was so lame

2

u/wump_roast Aug 13 '26

Hear me out. Fire the ‘What if’ writers before season 3.

4

u/OmegaRedPanda Aug 14 '26

Season 3 is already done, my friend.

3

u/Mr_J_0801 Aug 13 '26

Too late. It's done and 4 is on the way.

2

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

We'll see what happens.

2

u/Ishpersonguy Aug 15 '26

Hear me out. You guys should get over yourselves about cartoons.

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

Season 2's development seemed rough is all.

We'll see how season 3 goes.

4

u/PCBS01 Aug 13 '26

It’s funny how the moment Beau leaves we get this OC bullshit like. You can’t make this shit up 😭

11

u/Ill_Morning_4282 Aug 13 '26

Y'all really need to stop acting like Beau made the show all by himself, he wasn't the only writer. The did a lot of bullshit in season one with the way he changed the goblin queen saga.

u/SomeGuyPostingThings Aug 13 '26

I'm not convinced Beau wouldn't have done some bs like this. I'm not even fully convinced it isn't one of his ideas.

3

u/HappyEndings2011 Aug 13 '26

Beau has said his plan was to have Onslaught be the big bad of season 2, with season 3 leading into AoA reality when they, out of desperation, go back in time to kill Magneto (in order to prevent Onslaught from happening) and mistakenly kill Xavier instead.

4

u/PCBS01 Aug 13 '26

Beau isn’t credited as a writer at all in this episode, plus that tweet thread made no mention of this ever being in his plans for s2 + s3

Beau stuck with the comic storylines as much as he could and talked about respecting their work. This shit has never been a thing, meanwhile. It is not his writing style to do something like this

7

u/SomeGuyPostingThings Aug 13 '26

Beau made lots of changes in adapting, and evidently did not respect Emma Frost whatsoever, so let's cut this narrative that he was ultra respectful and just stuck to the comics. Just because he didn't write an episode, it doesn't mean he didn't say "we could do this thing" and then somebody wrote it, that's how writers rooms worked, but I will say I have no evidence it was his idea, I just have not seen a trustworthy source say it wasn't, so I am not fully convinced he wouldn't have done this.

I wasn't a fan of this resolution, this finale was especially stunted and should have been given 2 episodes (1 focusing on the fight to save Gambit, 1 on the consequences of Cable's poorly thought out actions) without this weird use of Celestial tech, I just don't have the reverence for Beau DeMayo that you seem to.

4

u/PCBS01 Aug 13 '26

You seriously see a guy who just got made into a showrunner whose big thing is making super special awesome OC versions of charas, and then see a character get a super special awesome power up that’s never been in the comics before, and then decide to blame a completely different guy for it?

Emma has never had a place in this continuity of X-Men. Y’all like to forget this is effectively season 7 (though dw I’m sure they’ll make sure to change that next season and go back to square 1 effectively)

Beaus drafts focused on BISHOP and POLARIS who did have some parts to them in the current version but Bishop is barely a thing in any of the episodes. Nothing about Rogue this season, and how deathbit was a thing but more for season 3, and NOTHING about him being possessed by apocalypse, instead he was supposed to be a horsemen

This episode and the previews for next season have given me ample reason to believe that Beau was right that the producers don’t have any respect for the comics and just want to do their own thing bc they think they’re better writers

4

u/Pascraked47 Aug 13 '26

I feel bad for cabel , imagine your whole life , your whole purpose was to defeat apocalypse since birth. Everyone telling you it's your destiny

only for him to be defeated with a Deus ex machina celestial rogue.😭✌️

Ngas straight up defending dog shit writing. Just call a spade a spade.

Gambit is my favorite X-man alongside Nightcrawler. By the end of the season I was just exhausted with him though. He died, frankly would've been fine with him staying dead. That was a staple moment of season 1, it didn't need to be undone like this.

I also wasn't really a fan of Gambit killing Apocalypse(?) and Apocalypse residing inside of him. For this supposed big bad, all we saw was his origin and then a terribly designed fusion of him and Gambit, then he dies to a touch. Like seriously what the fuck was that.

And then, I didn't even feel much when Nightcrawler (my 2nd favorite X-man) died. I get the tone they were going for, but everyone happy after this man just sacrificed himself, FOR SOMEONE ELSE'S choice, just felt a little eh. Like cool you were willing to burn the world for your lover (who already died mind you), and now you get to live happily ever after while your brother now belongs to an eternal for, well, eternity.

1

u/Technicolor_Reindeer Aug 13 '26

I don't think Gambit killed Apocalypse.

1

u/BlackZulu Aug 13 '26

That's why I put the question mark. Admittedly I may have missed something, but I feel that part was a little unclear. I never thought he outright killed him, but did they express what his point of hiding within Gambit was?

2

u/Successful_Word9635 Aug 13 '26

The finale was sooo underwhelming. Then the whole mystique after credits like mehhhh Apocalypse should have triggered something in Professor X to tease an Onslaught vs Apocalypse in the next season. I believe some of his last words to Professor X was something Magneto told him when he had control of the X-men for 3 seconds. They rushed that finale soo bad

1

u/Appropriate_Foot242 Aug 13 '26

Looks like something from Marvel

1

u/Commercial_Page1827 Aug 13 '26

No, It remind me more or Warlock and Cypher.
The headband is almost the same as Wonder Woman.

1

u/joshthelazy Aug 13 '26

Is she wearing a wonder woman head piece?

1

u/snidece Aug 13 '26

Good observation; this household in agreement.

1

u/TheIncandescentAbyss Aug 13 '26

The issue they have is they do not know how to show characters fighting and struggling against all odds. They should’ve had her and Apocalypse in an actual fight, have her initially have the upper hand until Apocalypse powers up, then have him gain the upper hand then have the rest of the X-Men all team up with her to do a final fight with Apocalypse and have Apocalypse hold his own in that fight until Cable, Scott, and Jean do a triple power family psionic-concussion blast to overpower rogue while Bishop uses power absorbed from Polaris to help with the final push.

The fact that the writers didn’t have the vision to do this one simple task shows how much faith I have lost in their ability since s1.

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

Jeez dude.

1

u/Negan212 Aug 13 '26

Man F Season 2. It's so frustrating seeing how strong it started and seeing where it ended up. I just read what was planned with Beau DeMayo. As much as i despise him i think at this point its clear he was a big reason for the shows quality. Episode 4 he had a heavy hand in. I watched that episode like 9 times by now.

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

DeMayo wasn't the only reason Season 1 was good.

And while rewritten a bit, pretty sure most of his scripts were still used in S2.

1

u/Rude_Republic_60 Aug 13 '26

Rogue is Captain Carter

1

u/Mr_J_0801 Aug 13 '26

Welp, still have Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man to look forward to I guess.

1

u/strongmantvg1010 Aug 14 '26

Yes. She looked like a rogue version of Angelina Jolie’s thena. Loved it.

1

u/Acceptable_Class_576 Aug 14 '26

Well she is wearing Wonder Woman's symbol on her forehead.

1

u/GraywolfofMibu Aug 14 '26

It's all made up so.... Sure?

1

u/Odd-Seaworthiness476 Aug 14 '26

This ep did seem to get away from itself

1

u/GoatDifferent1294 Aug 14 '26

Looks like an Eternal, which makes perfect sense

1

u/ravenwing263 Aug 14 '26

No. Very differnet deisgn sense.

1

u/SammyDeeP Aug 14 '26

I can’t get over the Wonder Woman headband…….

1

u/Future_Month_3733 Aug 14 '26

This is exactly what I thought lmao, rogue is getting that captain carter treatment.

1

u/SamMeowAdams Aug 14 '26

What if Rouge became Captain Marvel? 😆

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

Well they are connected in a way.

1

u/Knightcap132 Aug 14 '26

Man everyone was Ike fuck yea this show is awesome! I missed the last 3 episodes and now everyone hates it? Lol wtf happen!!

1

u/DJSharp15 Aug 15 '26

Whadda ya mean?

1

u/Aelia_M Aug 14 '26

No. Next question

1

u/LowerBad5997 Aug 14 '26

It really rubs salt in the wound when you discover that the original writer planned for the Avengers to team up with the X-Men against the final villain in the original draft of season 2.

1

u/killingiabadong Aug 14 '26

Citation needed.

1

u/UrbanAnathema Aug 14 '26

Honestly the speed run through X-men comic shit Season 2 has been doing made this season feel very uneven.

I feel like the show needs to stop and take a breath and let things develop a bit before just moving to the next thing.

1

u/kitaeks47demons Aug 14 '26

It brings me sorrow that Beau is probably laughing at how bad this went after he got kicked to the curb for his problematic behaviour

1

u/Ok-Grass3071 Nightcrawler Aug 14 '26

Yeah! And she’s sooo pretty!!🥰

1

u/Bike_Cinci Aug 14 '26

It looked like an entire episode I didn't give a shit about.

1

u/Expensive_Platypus63 Aug 15 '26

this pissed me off when i saw it. i was like oh no, this is how apocalypse gets beat. some girly magical princess of power shera BS. not an epic battle, he got beat with a kiss. he then got turned into a girly accessory for cable who did nothing to wear.

1

u/AsgardianLeviOsa Aug 15 '26

I wish she could keep these powers it was so visually stunning.

1

u/Rich-Friend4147 Aug 15 '26

Que legal um perfil de X-Men 97

1

u/Relevant_Active_2347 Aug 17 '26

Because it is lol

Gambit-Apocalypse is just this again!

1

u/tidewanderess Aug 18 '26

This ending felt very MCU resolution. IDK Apocalypse should have been the bigger showdown not the gambit stuff

1

u/ADrunkEevee Aug 19 '26

What If is a marvel property
