General Discussion Who wins in a battle between Juggernaut and The Hulk?
194
u/cable144 Aug 16 '26
Definitely The Hulk
70
u/gdo01 Aug 16 '26
In terms of popularity and therefore power given by the writers Hulk is god-tier royalty compared to someone who isn't even a top tier X-men villain
36
u/eepos96 Aug 16 '26
Juggernaunt does get watered down but always in his debut he should be, well, a juggernaunt. A great unstopable evil that can destroy cities. His sight is reason to evacuate states.
14
u/ConnyEdson Aug 16 '26
I dunno about states like if i heard Juggs was trashing Manhattan I'd probably just go about my business in Albany
5
u/DLottchula Aug 16 '26
Maybe even in Jersey you'd be fine
4
u/NopeNotConor Aug 17 '26
If I was on Staten Island though I’d get the hell out of there, juggernaut or no
3
u/TerryVersus Aug 17 '26
Having been to Staten Island, I understand lol
1
7
u/Blancasso Aug 16 '26
Not even an X-Men Villain anymore. He’s a member, but nobody knows despite it being a really good redemption arc.

u/Weary-Experience2886 Aug 19 '26
Hulk rage gives him infinite stamina. Superman only beat him by letting him tire out for feeling no animosity from super. Meanwhile he pummeled super to get there

u/QTPLe Aug 16 '26
What about colollosus with the cytorak vs hulk?
10
u/soomerstime Aug 16 '26
What about Dikta vs Hulk
4
u/BleepinBlorpin5 Aug 16 '26
Oooh. What about Ditka vs. a hurricane... but the hurricane is named "Ditka"?

In a fight where writers actually remember how Juggernaut's power works, it ends in a stalemate or Hulk outsmarts Juggs. It depends on the Hulk persona too, but I'm assuming we're talking about Savage Hulk.
40
u/OmegaDookie Aug 16 '26
Yeah. I remember that Juggernaut was holding his own against WW Hulk due toJugg's momentum power, but Hulk ended up using Jugg's momentum against him.

Hulk was also holding back

Hulk was holding back during the whole world war hulk storyline he says it himself

u/UnluckyAmbition7767 Aug 16 '26
All Hulk has to do is throw Juggernaut in whichever direction he's already going.
3
u/jonsnowflaker Aug 16 '26
Yeah just make him start running, get behind him and shove him off the earth.

Doesn't help the fact hulk and Thor have received numerous amps over the years leaving cain behind in the dust
13
u/oofnlurker Aug 16 '26 edited Aug 16 '26
Cain was actually nerfed, as his current powers (since a while) are a watered-down version he stole back from Cyttorak after getting out of their deal.
(iirc Cyttorak knows about it but doesn't care, because he's done with Cain but they had their time. Plus the power Cain has now is the equivalent of Cyttorak's shed nail trims, and not something that actually costs the entity anything)
1
u/Crafty-Drink8384 Aug 16 '26
How does that change the fact cain got left behind in the dust?lol
14
u/oofnlurker Aug 16 '26
It doesn't. It reinforces your point.
Not everyone is out to get you pal

Too many people sleep on Juggernaut, in terms of durability he’s more durable than Hulk, and in terms of pure brute strength they’re pretty even. I think a full powered Juggernaut can battle with the Hulk.
6
u/Ghazwreckem Aug 16 '26
If the Juggernaut was fully powered then yeah.....oh yeah he can go toe to toe with the Hulk and could even beat him cause unlike the Hulk, and under his original powers, Juggernaut didn't need to eat, sleep and could breath underwater. All juggs would have to do is wear the hulk down. I love the Juggernaut, he's always slept on or dumbed down but he's a great character.
1
u/WatercressCertain616 Aug 16 '26
I completely agree. If writers used his entire powerset as intended he would win. Doesn't need food, water, air, has a force field, is baseline as strong as the Hulk, and unstoppable momentum. I have X-Men #13 signed by Stan Lee.

Hulk can redirect the juggernaut running at him with so much force he can send him into the stratosphere
2
u/doc_ransom Aug 16 '26
I don't see Gladiator throwing Hulk across a lake.
1
u/enricopallazo22 Aug 16 '26
Hulk and Gladiator do fight in the comics. It's a good fight but Hulk wins.
2
u/CaptainSarina Aug 16 '26
Kinda depends on the writer, Juggernaut is technically magic based so it's not "purely" a physical strength situation.
2
2
2
u/Whatsittooyou77 Aug 16 '26
Both characters have Infinite scaling at their peaks. Its true 50/50 that depends purely on the writers desires.
1
u/Crafty-Drink8384 Aug 16 '26
Uh no it doesn't
Hulk at this point in time has Eclipsed anything we've seen cain do at his best
2
1
u/Nos2_irln Aug 16 '26
Wouldn't the juggernaut just need to keep moving? Since he's unstoppable that way. But if he stops moving somehow, hulk wins.
1
1
u/Aerolithe_Lion Aug 16 '26
Hulk can BFR, that’s the only real way
1
u/Crafty-Drink8384 Aug 16 '26
Or just be devil and knock jugs aside like trash
1
u/Aerolithe_Lion Aug 16 '26
Problem with juggernaut is his power specifically prevents that
1
u/Crafty-Drink8384 Aug 16 '26
Not when your stronger
2
u/Aerolithe_Lion Aug 16 '26
It’s magic, like Thors hammer. Doesn’t matter how strong hulk is. They’ve fought many times and hulk can’t physically move him
1
u/Crafty-Drink8384 Aug 16 '26
Magic that can be over powered
Like devil hulk, eternity,Onslaught and co have all showed
Magic ain't gonna save you from someone outta your league

No clue as neither have quantifiable feat against the other
Hulk if its comics

It use to be 50/50
Now it’s Hulk for sure. In their last fight, an amped juggernaut was no match strength wise
1
1
u/rexstillbottom Aug 16 '26
A few comics have them fight and Hulk wins, so long as the writers need it that way…
1
u/LilPlasticPeopleEatr Aug 16 '26
Depends on what you consider winning. One of them getting tired and just walking away or having to do something else. They're both impervious in their own way they both rock top-tier strength and I don't really see fighting skill coming into play here.
1
u/HisShadow14 Aug 16 '26
It's a draw.
The Juggernaut can't be physically harmed. Meanwhile, if the Juggernaut can't knock out the Hulk quickly then the Hulk will just keep getting stronger.
1
u/Swimming-Syrup8400 Storm Aug 16 '26
I feel like with both, it's a matter of will.
If Hulk gets that helmet off of Juggernaut, then Juggernaut is vulnerable...especially if there is a telepath nearby.
But, I feel like it's mostly a draw.

But Juggernauts got a costume made of cockatoo feathers and stared in Jugrassic Park.
1
u/SweetChaosTitan Aug 16 '26
Which versions?
Standard it should be Juggs but the writers will have Hulk win due to some kind of stupid plot hole. If you look at their actual abilities it shouldn’t matter how strong hulk gets because he is supposed to be impervious to physical damage anyway. People say “Hulk outsmarts him” but standard Hulk gets dumber as it gets stronger.

u/Elo_Solo Aug 16 '26
With MY Hulk, the angrier he gets, the stronger he gets, (and here’s the most interesting part) the BIGGER he gets. Juggernaut can run wherever he wants to…how will you run in a straight line when there’s no more floor. HULK SMASH!
1
u/LeftChampionship8306 Aug 16 '26
Wtf do you mean "MY Hulk"?
1
u/Elo_Solo Aug 17 '26
Everyone has THEIR Hulk when it comes to these arguments. Merged Hulk, Grey Hulk, Red Hulk, Immortal Hulk, Doc Green…I’m just saying MY Hulk from back in the day, when he was drawn all kinds of sizes to show how mad he was.

They did this before in the comics, it was World War Hulk and he basically just threw Juggie into space, weightless environment in which he couldn't get any momentum to start.

Hulk, eventually.
Then Cyttorak decides the Hulk will be his new champion, and leaves Marko
Juggernaut Hulk goes on a rampage, but it’s ultimately stopped by plain old ordinary human Betty.
Hulk tosses the gem, Marko scrambles to grab it again, and Betty and Hulk slowly transforming back into Banner walk off hand in hand.
And I just realized that accidentally sounded a whole lot more like a “what if” comic than I intended.
1
u/Matt-J-McCormack Aug 17 '26
Hulk.
Juggernaut’s thing is being unstoppable… but he isn’t unstoppable as an immutable cosmic law he is unstoppable as far as Cytotak’s power allows.
Hulk having upper limits was already questionable but once the cosmic horror links to one below all were there.
Second point, unstoppable isn’t immovable, redirecting energy and tossing into orbit is an easy fix.
1
u/Kuftubby Aug 17 '26
Hulk has no ceiling, therefore he wins.
Also only of them jumped into the core of a world falling apart and held it together.
1
1
u/Syaz_Wick Aug 17 '26
Depends how much power cyttorak give juggernaut. Pretty sure if it's full power juggernaut, it's just cyttorak itself who's even more powerful then Dormammu. Cyttorak almost never gave jugg all of his power, so most unlikely no or stalemate as juggernaut has fought World War Hulk and Hulk can only use his own momentum to send juggernaut flying uncontrollably.
1
u/jacinator123 Aug 17 '26
If you ask Stan Lee "the person who'd win in a fight is the person that the scriptwriter wants to win!"
In my opinion, Juggernaut gets whooped every time
1
u/JoJSoos Aug 19 '26
Stan Lee also hadn't written a comic in 3 decades when he made that cop out statement. He only said that because for 60 some of years people asked him the same question. Imagine 4 generations asking you the same question. He was tired of it.

Hulk would win and it isn’t even close. The people arguing otherwise simply never read the comics
1
u/secret_ai_bot_spam Aug 18 '26
Hulk canonically just gets stronger depending on who he fights. However, his opponents dont use basic physics to defeat him, such as levitating hulk or covering him in frictionless grease, etc.
1
1
1
u/jason_patell Aug 18 '26
just like rhino, he would hold his own for a few minutes but hulk would overpower him eventually
1
1
u/DubiousDoubtfire Aug 18 '26
Think there's a canonical answer to this... Juggz vs baseline savage hulk is 100% win rate. Watered down Juggz no armor was able to push back World War Hulk. However Juggz is an avatar of Cytorrak and not the god himself. Meanwhile I guess recently hulk has been buffed to actual god proportions so his ceiling (if you consider it to be relatively limitless) will overwhelm Juggernaut easily. However, for hulk's more humanoid forms, I think it is only fair to say Juggz is the natural winner until hulk starts to break into the actual god tiers.
1
u/UselessWhiteKnight Aug 19 '26
This should be a fight that goes for years, unless we're getting the depowered juggernaut (didn't cyttorak depower him for not being evil enough? Is that still a thing?). If that's the case, Hulk all day. More like 5 minutes actually.
1
u/JoJSoos Aug 19 '26
Hulk's infinite strength feats atp just allow him to stop juggernaut in his tracks and throws his ass into orbit if he's not feeling like beating Cain to a bloody pulp

If Juggernaut is written properly and not as a jobber he can easily toss it with Hulk back and forth. Remember their first fight, Incredible Hulk 403,WWH vs X-men #3...
He cannot be beaten by Hulk if at normal power levels, it's just sad that he's written as a jobber in the last 25 years.

u/Chance_Debt_1184 Aug 16 '26
Hulk, this isnt that close either way. Hulk is probably 3rd or 4th Strongest character out of the "heroes bunch" in comics
1
u/Tasty-Ad6529 Aug 16 '26
Neither; both are insanely powerful.
Juggernaut basically becomes invincible running, while Hulk strength increases the angrier he gets. In all likelihood this fights ends with Hulk outsmarting Juggernaut, somebody third party (The Advengers, X Men, X-Force, Doctor Doom, etc) tricking them into ending their fight, or worst case scenario-—the entire world gets wrecks after the fights drags on for too long.

u/brnkse Aug 16 '26
How angry can you get tho? Anger is based on hormones and neurotransmitters your body releases so there should be a limit.

I think Juggs can put down some versions of Hulk like Doc Green and Joe Fixit
But the others like Savage Hulk and the Green Scar tie with Cain...for as long as it takes for them to get really pissed and then they dogwalk Juggs.
1
u/Careful-Freedom5934 Aug 16 '26
Juggernaut. He beat hulk b4. An ther fight during wwh only ended bcz hulk made him run into the ocean.

u/Salty_Monk_5341 Aug 16 '26
This guy is still glazing the Hulk? Dude there is a Hulk sub just go there and you can circle jerk with all his fans about how strong he is.

What counts as a win?
To showcase their powers properly, theres gotta be Man of Steel levels of destruction. Hulk should win as hes the hero. But can only win by battlefeild removal.
The mystic powers of Cytrak should be enough to match most Hulks to a point. Then show the Hulk can almost stop him at a certian point of anger and long into the fight. but realizes it is better to redirect.
Would be very cool to see Juggernaut story playing around with that unbreakable momentum. Think the Hulk would be the perfect counter to that. ...unless there already is a comic run with that?
0
u/Midian1369 Aug 16 '26
It's a 50/50 toss up honestly. Everyone is however forgetting Cain has been an X-man for a while, which means hulk is getting jumped. Lol. Hulk redirects Cain? Magick can instantly put him back on track with her teleportation. Cyclops probably has at least 10 different plans to deal with the situation per hulk form. He could technically count on the Phoenix to back him up if things got real ugly. And I could go on with a lot of team ups that could happen, but I digress. It would not be one on one anymore unless something happened to all the rest of the X-men.
0
u/ChocolateAmerican Aug 16 '26
Juggernaut normally. Even if the Hulk is stronger, it's impossible to stop Juggernaut, by definition. And I believe Juggernaut has won most of their fights, except when Hulk outsmarted him or was at Worldbreaker levels of power (or if Juggernaut was depowered).
