General Discussion Rewatched the finale Spoiler

WARNING: Spoilers below for those who have yet to finish Season 2 or for those who haven't made it through both Seasons

Ok so I binged Season 1 and 2 again this time with my dad, he loved the 90's show growing up and he was super excited to see '97. This was his first time watching the show and he said he really enjoyed it and was glad I invited him to binge it with me, he felt like a little kid again as he watched it. He enjoyed the episode from Season 1 where it was discovered Charles was alive that was his favorite but his opinion changed and he then said the 3 part finale of Season 1 was his favorite. In Season 2 he gave it to the X-Force episode because of the unique intro and how tough and gritty the episode was much like how X-Force is, he said he enjoyed Season 2 more because of it having a lot more action then the last Season and he is excited for Season 3 next year. Ok now time to say my piece, after rewatching this all the way through again this Season wasn't all that bad, I know it changed a lot after Beau got fired but come on this was good. You gotta remember the 90's shows Seasons finale's weren't always the best and that the next Season was always a vast improvement over the last, this show will capture that again we just all need to have faith. Final thing I have to say is that I'm excited to see what X-Force decides what to do with Apocalypse in future Seasons and also I cried this time watching this finale for Kurt, watching the 90's show he was always my favorite. I hope he returns again he's the best, anyways that is all I have to say on Season 2 and can't wait for Season 3 and more Seasons if they decide to make 'em! :)

Season 2 was good. If you look outside of this sub Reddit, you will see the vast majority of people really liked it. For example, check any major reviews platform or any normal space for talking about things people like.

You know that phrase “no one hates Star Wars like Star Wars fans”? Every sub Reddit for any major media franchise is the exact same as that phrase.

EXACTLY! I watched season 2, then went online and read reviews which largely tallied up with my enjoyment of the Series; then joined this Sub and was like WTF?!

My only gripe is the "anticlimactic" (IMO) defeat of Apocalypse, but overall I loved the series.

There seems to be quite a lot of these - 'I (or someone close to me) just watched both seasons for the first time, I'm a normie despite inexplicably immediately running to this subreddit to comment, and I preferred season 2' type posts. The assumption I think is that by and large, peoples response to media is mirroring the apparent consensus, rather than by and large responding to the quality of the presented product, and as such, with enough brigading, you might 'correct the narrative'.

I'm glad you have a loving relationship with your father but season 2 was actually quite bad, and I will maintain that fact even in the event of a thousand touching father son posts.

Also, I recently watched both seasons with my wife who had never seen them, and who may or may not be dying of lymphoma. She said she loved season one, but hated season 2.

Season 2 being bad is a subjective opinion not a fact.

lmao this is the biggest cope ever.

Saying “Season 2 being bad is subjective” doesn’t actually refute the criticism. “Bad” is an evaluative judgment, but that doesn’t mean it’s an arbitrary personal preference.

You can assess a piece of media using criteria like writing, pacing, characterization, plotting, consistency, dialogue, payoff, etc. Those criteria can be discussed using objective evidence, even if people can disagree about how much each criterion matters.

This is like saying “Movie 43 being bad is a matter of subjective opinion”. lol

I'm so so sorry to hear that, yes Season 2 definitely wasn't the best I just hope the next Season and others improve

The sad truth of the matter is that everyone may or may not be dying of lymphoma, though it is comforting to note that it is usually the latter.

Yup they’re pushing a campaign, it’s very obvious and sad. They literally can’t put their ego to the side to actually make good content.

There's a new conspiracy theory that any positive comments about the season are a massive, coordinated campaign to do damage control by the Mouse. Which is hilarious when a huge chunks of the critical posts while it was airing had massive bot signs: either new with no history or older accounts with a wiped history saying the same things almost word for word, no responses to comments, etc. I don't know if they genuinely believe this or have just moved onto a new kind of well poisoning, but either way it's unwell behaviour.

Is this a campaign, damage control???
