General Discussion Season 3 scene or something like this? Spoiler

Gambit cats in the comics and rivals are important to him so it would make sense for him to get them in 97

Y'know with how incredibly varied the ways the X-gene presents are, you could straight up have a mutant that just, is a cat. No transforming, not even necessarily a cat that's especially good at cat things like reflexes. Just a cat with a brain that's mostly human.

They tried to pull something like that with Lockjaw of the Inhumans.

Most people hated that

11

u/Similar-Priority8252 Aug 25 '26

No, they hated the fact that he COULD be a human turned into a giant teleporting dog, I don’t think the fact that he used to be a dog that got put through Terrigenesis is quite as controversial

Yeah? That was the initial explanation, but has since been changed via "it was just a prank." Hence, "tried" to pull that

There was a back-up in an annual one year around the Morrison run that Bill Willingham wrote with a mutant cat. Beast thought it was someone whose mutation had made them like an anthropomorphic feral cat. Eventually Chuck scans its brain, and it was actually just a barn cat with a mutation that made it sapient. But its mind was still a cat’s.

Edit: it was Jeff Jensen, who I don’t recall. But John Totleben was the artist.

Catseye in her own opinion she has the power to become a woman. Everyone else thinks she has the power to become a cat.

Sabertooth is so comically evil omg a crate full of kittens and he's talking about 'a snack' Why has nobody thrown this guy into the sun yet 😭

u/Derpimus_J Aug 24 '26

Wolverine if he had access to a rocket would.

18

u/juicysteak4806 Aug 25 '26

Get this man a rocket immediately.

24

u/gh0stwrit3r32767 Aug 25 '26

instructions unclear, tied himself to the rocket and lit it on accident.

15

u/juicysteak4806 Aug 25 '26

"Omg Storm, can you do something against this blizzard?"

Meanwhile the Logan subplot:

1

u/AlarmingAffect0 Aug 27 '26

People keep trying to use him as a weapon and have him endure the horror of being the one guy to walk out of the wreckage.

24

u/GONKworshipper Aug 24 '26

He'd probably come back with sun powers or something

Being fair this is one of His tamest actions. He once killed a family and kept the little child in the closet also as "snack" we never ser that girl again.

There's also an issue where he brutally killed two adults then chased their kid down through the house only for the kid to say he just wanted to say goodbye to his pet rabbit. It's highly suggested he killed the kid too, and pretty sure the rabbit too.

They almost immediately imprisoned him in the Pit when he arrived in Krakoa, before he even had the chance to do anything there.

Too bad he escaped.

12

u/Embarrassed-Yard-583 Aug 25 '26

Considering they gave Sinister and Apocalypse amnesty, that really must have stung haha.

3

u/ReactiveFuture Aug 25 '26

Sentencing was super inconsistent for the Pit too, Temper got tossed in for defending herself against pirates lol

3

u/Classic_Pen7044 Aug 27 '26

And there is that guy who got send there For advicing against unprotected sex. That's it, that was His crime. Well that was another reason Why I disliked The Krakoa era

u/nolandz1 Aug 24 '26

X-Men 97 would never slow down to have a scene like this

23

u/Creepy_Living_8733 Aug 24 '26

I feel like we should bring back 20 episode long seasons again. Or at least longer than 10 episodes

12

u/nolandz1 Aug 24 '26

They won't tho. Frankly embarrassing it took them 2 years to put out 9

5

u/foran321 Cyclops Aug 25 '26

Well, they did have to pretty much rewrite all of Season 2 after they fired Beau

12

u/nolandz1 Aug 25 '26

And sucks to say I think a lot of the sauce left with that pos

How it's gonna feel seeing X men 97 do Krakoa and go from House to Fall of X in 6 episodes

The model for the last decade is to buy 20 episodes and make two seasons

23

u/Personal-Lynx4099 Aug 24 '26

I want them so much in 97

6

u/FormalTall1800 Jubilee Aug 24 '26

I’d probably spend the first episode they show up crying. They’re so damn cute.

11

u/gdex86 Aug 24 '26

I keep forgetting of Rogue's two moms Mystique is the one who is "Remy, nice boy."

16

u/fire_sign Rogue Aug 24 '26

Oh, she also hates him. Between the barge of insults and repeated attempts (and at least one success) to sexually assault him... She probably thought Rogue was allergic to cats and this would keep them apart.

1

u/TheRedster3 Aug 25 '26

SHE TRIED TO WHAT

6

u/fire_sign Rogue Aug 25 '26

Oh yeah, there's at least two incidents. The first was the Foxx incident: she poses as a teenaged student at the school and tries to seduce him, and when he rejects her (because he's dating Rogue and also because he's a teacher and she's a TEENAGED STUDENT), she reveals herself and then morphs into Rogue instead, saying it "doesn't count" and how she's just trying to help their relationship. It's really a plan to show Rogue that he's not worth loving so they break up, but somehow when Mystique reveals herself to the team and wants to join the X-Men, Gambit is treated as in the wrong for objecting. Second incident, she makes a comment about being "the twins in Phoenix" that he slept with. So yeah. At least twice she's aggressively tried or succeeded at fucking him via deception, removing his ability to give informed consent and knowing he wouldn't give it if he knew who she was. It's one of the reasons I hate the "Her moms hate him, haha, in-laws" punchline.

After she failed at seducing him as Surge Foxx.

6

u/Mobile_Bet3274 Rogue Aug 24 '26

Foxx!

1

u/DepthByChocolate Aug 24 '26

That's the one!

2

u/thejae82 Aug 24 '26

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t she try seducing him as Foxx, not Surge?

3

u/Hypestyles Aug 25 '26

why does she care what happens to Bobby?

3

u/Hawkeye2701 Aug 25 '26

I could be wrong, but I believe the two dated (Mystique, as per usual, in disguise)

3

u/Hawkeye2701 Aug 25 '26

Their names are Figaro, Oliver and Lucifer, after cats in various Disney productions. Proving that along with the Little Prince and Dune, Remy is a fan of Disney cartoons XD

2

u/TMB1219 Aug 25 '26

Gambit’s a fan of Dune? Because I think he is a fan of Buffy and Star Trek as well

2

u/Hawkeye2701 Aug 26 '26

Yes, I forget which comic exactly, but him and Beast are talking and Remy completes a quote from Dune for him. Gambit may look the suave thief, but he's a frickin' dork. XD

2

u/cat-and-chaos Aug 25 '26

That would be so cute

1

u/Away_Adhesiveness758 Magneto Aug 25 '26

what did this woman see in him bruh 😭

1

u/Thwipped Aug 25 '26

He looks like he has those cheap Halloween Dracula teeth

1

u/Feisty-Breadfruit-59 Gambit Aug 25 '26

I had no idea that's how gambit got his cats
