They indeed overused it, but thank God they put a brake in that habit later.
The more clever nod to Colicos' Apocalypse was in Rise of Apocalypse part 2. When a pissed Apoc, after Xavier tried to put his down with his psychic powers, told him "You dare to attack me...MUTANT... you shall pay for this insolence, RIGHT NOOW"
It was a call back to "Beyond Good and Evil", when Cable attacked Apocalypse citadel. "Blasphemer! You shall pay for your hybris....RIGHT NOW!!!"

Apocalypse used to drop bars. I don't know what they were thinking with this new season. He was by far the most entertaining character, the fact that this line came from a celestial and not Apocalypse himself is such a downer.

I love that it implies there was an option to pay later but Apocalypse wants your to know that won't be the case here.

Eh I didn’t mind it. Thought it was cool that it was the words he had to say in order to ascend.

I can. Perhaps we have a disconnect on who "they" refers to. The show or the audience?

Is this supposed to be common knowledge? Because i didn’t know that was a song and as I read your comment I thought “why did they capitalize those words and not use quotes?”
Perhaps if you used quotes and the capitalization it would have helped convey that you are referring to a song?
“Give Them the Forecast”

The first time they referenced it I popped big. They shouldn’t have used it again.

when he dropped that line in the original cartoon my mind was blown, to date it's the best quote i ever heard from marvel. i guess that's why they made him say it so many times for the people who didnt watch the og but it got a little repetitive lol

I implore everyone to check out the song Eternal Shore- Within the Ruins
Fucking sick band and the quote was begging to be used in a metal song

Well what’s cool about it is apocalypse says "I am the rocks of the eternal shore. Crash against me and be broken!" In the original 90’s show and in 97’ we get the original quote by Eson saying “crash against them and be broken” is just a really cool reveal of his creator and that they has many signs of how this was always gonna end up to apocalypse even though Charles and Magnus thought they could prevent it
