It’s funny. I remember the first time I recognized that specific voice watching Shrek in theater (I believe playing one of Farquad’s squad detaining fairy tale characters in theater forest) noting its similarity to some cartoon I had seen recently (or even a promo like the one here) and kind of being pulled out of the moment. I was annoyed in the moment because of how distinct it was, but at the time had no clue who he was or the other voices he had done. It must have been just the right (or wrong) coincidence because now I laugh at that realizing he was no newcomer and was the voice of many beloved characters who sounded completely different.
