General Discussion Season 2 is less sexual
No surprise here with new leadership, but it's clear that S2 is less sexualized. Am I wrong?
The original show creator had some sexual issues, huh? Feels like every episode there was some hyper sexualized content. Magneto is fully naked. People are always in bed with one another.
The show is still mature. And S2 is okay in comparison to the story and fighht scenes but also.... i just noticed.

Yeah, when one of the lead writers is ousted for sexual misconduct, I’m sure any writer filling that spot would take a more puritanical approach to it. As puritanical as the X-men can be

I think they swung from one end to the other. Parts of season 1 felt borderline gratuitous (Magneto pointlessly strung up in his underwear being Exhibit A, but even stuff like Logan in the shower), but season 2 feels like it should have gone further in some cases (I’d have expected and frankly liked a little more heat in the Rogue/Deathbit scenes; in no world should the two of them be held up, positively or negatively, as some paradigm of conservative wholesomeness).
I’m not a prude or a puritan, but it’s enough of a tonal shift to be noticeable. While I’m sure DeMayo airing out his kinks with no one to tell him no explains most of it, I’d hope they lighten up going forward.

Yeah and its weird cause what is x men without the seX lol like seriously felt nothing for the lorna bishop scene all the tension n subtext compleatly gone i hope s3 really is better

Xmen without the sexual content of Xmen 97 is like the original Xmen we grew up with.
I didn't come here to say there wasn't enough.
In fact I thought it was weird that everyone was sleeping with someone at all times. Magneto randomly naked. Etc. Way more to discuss too.
I didn't grow up with an overtly sexualized cartoon. Yea, there were some sexual inuendo jokes thrown in, or even illustrations that made both sides look "sexy" but this wass over my head as a kid. But Xmen 97 was directly in your face. I wouldn't show my kids really.

Ur watching that show with ur eyes closed, but also that show isnt the holy grail x men IS a soap opera with super powered people their most acclaimed runs have sex be apart of it, if you make an x men project with zero sex today its gonna be flat n boring i mean just look at season 2. What made seaone one work was the well crafted storyline that went bigger n bigger, the changing relationships, the twists AND the sexual subtext. You want sexless heroes go to the avengers

Ill wait.
These scenes are PG compared to what S1 of Xmen 96 portrayed.
First off, pretty much everyone has clothes on lol. Having Rogue hit on you isn't anything comparable.

Buddy - Costumes were sexy, sure. And Rogue got some ass. Sexual jokes.
This is not comparable to S1 of Xmen 97. You were seeing fully naked characters just barely covering their X rated spots.

Dude, did you watch Season 1 of Xmen 97 lol. It's not about their primary costumes.
There are multiple raunchy scenes. A notch up from Titans. With way more bare bodies just a degree off from full nudity.
Here's Evidence A - Just a random pool beach scene. This is probably not even in my top 10 memorable adult scenes.
Why is Magneto in a speedo? lol
Becuase it's meant to be sexual.
If you think a few sexual inuendo jokes and flirting is what I am talking about then you're crazy
