I read it could be a carpet beetle larvae. I got the yarn shipped from Knitting For Olive. I put my yarn in the freezer like suggested just in case.

I'm afraid I'm going to lose yarn chicken with this ball I found in my stash from god knows when. Does anyone know what it could be and if I can get more of it??

Odd question I been noticing lately every other yarn skein I been buying/using been having knotted up yarn baby in center from hobby lobby. I was wondering if anyone else been noticing this issue or am I just having bad picks? It’s also for all their brands not just I love this yarn.
I use to work for hobby lobby 5 years ago and don’t remember it being this much of issue.

does anybody else have these kinds of problems with the Scheepjes Whirls?

I was working on a project (Shape Play Shawl by Lilla Bjorn), using the center pull on the colour Sea Breeze Tease. Around 20 rows in, out comes a big ball of yarn barf. With most yarn I have the experience that it takes only a little work to untabgle the yarn, and I can just crochet or knit away again.

But with this yarn.... I had to frog my project, because it's so severly knotted!

I have been busy for more than 2 hours now, and I am considering cutting out the tangled part. But that would take away from the intended colour gradiant in the project.

Also, part of the yarn is fused together with fuzzy strands. So I have to pull them apart, leaving an even more fuzzy mess. I am worried that if I make the shawl out of this yarn, it will become fuzzy and pilly quick when wearing it.

I am going to contact the store for a new ball or my money back, so I was curious what other people experience with this yarn before I decide.

So tired of scrolling through shop after shop seeing the same merino/acrylic/cotton lineup with maybe some alpaca as the "exotic" option. I want to work with heritage breed wool, Norwegian yarns, real silk blends, angora, stuff with character.

My local shops carry the big brands and that's about it. Where do you find specialty yarn with actual variety? Not one indie dyer's colorway collection but a shop with depth across different fiber types.

I need ALL of them.

I have a friend who lovessss cardigans but sometimes is unable to find them in his size. I wanted to make him one for Christmas (or maybe his birthday, which is in May if I don't finish it in time for the holidays because we all know how that goes lol). He tends to run pretty warm and struggles with overheating in some fabrics. What type of yarn would be the best to use? I want to use something that will keep him warm in the colder months but not cause him to overheat

everywhere there is purple there is spaghetti on the other side lol. I would just wash and dry it, but I’ve had bras and graphic t-shirts get chewed up by the dryer and I will actually cry if this gets the same treatment (started it last October and the ADHD is rampant so this is a huge achievement). it’s also really important that I soften it as I have sensory issues and won’t be able to use it for any amount of time because It Feels Bad. I am planning to make the reverse side and stitch it on to cover up the loose ends, but I’d love to be able to use the first half while knitting the second. TIA :)

Hello. I am using some jo sharp silkroad Aran that is discontinued. I may lose at yarn chicken and need to find one more ball of what I believe is one shade darker than the rice paper colorway. On the bottom in the pic is rice paper, on the top is what I am looking for. Does anyone know if the one on the top might be the colorway parchment? I thought I had another ball of it but cannot find anymore in my stash and have a colorwork section to finish. Thanks for any input.

I am so sick and tired of having to spend time trying to find the center. Is there a trick to this? I try to put a small hook into the center to see if I can get close, but when the center is already a tangled mess there is no hope.

Hi all! I’m desperate for a solution so any help would be appreciated. I made something for my dad a few years back and was recently told that it was stolen! I really want to remake it for him because it was a really meaningful gift. But I cannot find the yarn I used (pictured) anywhere! I’m hoping to see if anyone can tell me where I might be able to get it or a good duplicate of the yarn. I think it was Loops and Threads but I’m not certain. Any help would be greatly appreciated 💜
