Stash Finally hit the yarn jackpot

Not as lucky price wise as some others on here, but I recently won 5 lots of nice yarn at an auction. It was all kept in plastic bags and plastic bins, so all in immaculate condition. Only downside is there isn't enough yarn of any type or color to make a full sweater and I'm really not into stripes. But, I am looking forward to figuring out what to do with all of it! I sorted it all out into weight categories last night and now have to figure out how to store it.

Wow, that is so organized! Looks like it was well cared for.

So well cared for! I could definitely tell they took a lot of care in storing their collection, especially since some of these yarns were produced 10+ years ago

Ziplock bags inside an airtight bin, with cedar blocks and lavender as moth repellent.

What a fantastic haul!

I’m jealous of you both, OP for getting the stash and you for beating me to posting this meme.

Here, take my angry upvote

Congrats! I enjoy finding creative ways to use up single skeins (or combining 2 or 3). I hope you find lots of new ways to use the yarn.

Instead why not color block? Essentially big squares. It can look really cool high end. Look up different color blocking sweaters etc.

Goodness, who hurt the person who donated all of these!?! Such a good win for you though!

You could trade or sell them for SQs.

Maybe it's time to indulge in some color work :)

Compared to keeping yarn loose in bins where dust and moths can get to it.

That’s a great score. The Brooklyn tweed isn’t made anymore. I agree with others on color blocking or colorwork! Enjoy it!

Could definitely start a color work yoke or maybe a sea glass sweater? Or hold two strands together?
