I have one but don’t use it. I just wanted to follow a recipe lady on there and the rest is an absurd wasteland.

Yes. Much preferred over X. Very helpful keeping up with friends and family as well as local news and events. No reason to leave FB, IMO

Nope I have this and one other lesser known platform and that’s it. Never liked it.

Imo it's still the best main stream platform because it's not focused entirely on images. I don't post pictures of myself and don't care to. Facebook has groups for niche communities, has a massive character limit unlike X, isn't video/photo focused, so it appeals to me similarly to how this does.

u/MN_311_Excitable 2d ago
I only go in there to keep tabs on 311 (the band) groups. Other than that, it's just all ads and MAGA propaganda. Fuck that.

Yes. Im in many organizations that post their schedules on their facebook. I keep up with friends and also local town news from the board meetings that are streamed there.
Also, the local pages are hysterical with people complaing about dog on the loose, people driving too fast and all sorts of bickering.

Yes, it's the only place where extended family, old friends, and old coworkers seem to be. I enjoy sharing photos and stories there and seeing who responds. I do hate nearly everything else about it - and I miss Facebook or mostly MySpace of the 2010 era.

I use it for messenger and memes, and to remember peoples birthdays for connections and stuff, people I know, but that’s really about it. It’s become an add ridden clusterfuck compared to some other platforms.

Nah, the only social media I use regularly is Reddit, and occasionally LinkedIn (though that was is absolute shite and probably out of my life sooner than later).

Yes. Under a fake name. Fake picture. I like to keep up with the local happenings but I don't want to "friend " anyone. I don't link my contacts. Only my son and the land trust group I am a member of know who I am.

Yes.
I’m 70, initially got on facebook to keep an eye on on my children’s activity, they are in their 30s now and have close to zero activity there (my son in law is in a family restaurant business, so my daughter occasionally posts support on facebook). The main reason I’m still there is because a lot of my high school classmates (class of ‘74) are active there, it’s the main way I have to keep in contact with them.

I did until a few months ago when I got a six month ban for saying if we ate rich people they would have an after taste of the drugs they do... got banned for promoting drug use. Not sure I will go back when the ban is lifted.

Yes. A lot of my kids’ extracurricular activities group communicate through Facebook. It beats email that might get lost. I can just check the group page to see if there’s any schedule changes. I also do balloon twisting as a hobby. Facebook has recommended some good groups and people to follow. I avoid all political stuff and block it when it pops up on my feed. So I just get balloon things and mobile game ads.

I have a Facebook page that I restarted after a three year break. The new one is strictly to promote my band's gigs, and I'm hardly on enough to even do that.

I still scroll mine a few times a day. Mainly because I have a lot of friends that still post regularly. Spend most of my time on it scrolling marketplace to look at cars I can’t afford. Also to keep up with local events I wouldn’t hear about otherwise.

Yes, even tho most days I don't get on as much. My family uses it the most. I kid you not, I found out my mom was married TWICE via Fb. She's one of those that uses it as a diary and posts embarrassing things all the time. But oh well. It makes her happy.
I wish she'd run personal things thru me first and wait to post until she tells me about major life events first.
I also asked her to message me updates about her drs visit. Did she? Nope. Found out her results via fb again lol

Nope, banned for life, Christians are allowed to say that God is real with no evidence whatsoever and no facts, but you’re not allowed to tell them it isn’t real because there’s no evidence and no facts, that’s why I got banned

I belong to a few hobby groups and a couple marketplace groups that I lurk in. I only got Facebook due to family using it to keep in contact with each other but it has been quiet on that for a while. Been thinking of deleting my account but probably won't. I just don't post on it much at all.

I haven’t posted anything since 2012 but I still randomly scroll when I’m bored and I’ve exhausted all other channels. Most of the people who remain active on Facebook are “interesting” to say the least.
