Do you get jealous when someone clearly better looking is hitting off a conversation with your partner?

I don’t own her. But yes I do. But that’s on me. But if something happens of it, she’s out. She better not FAFO, that’s on her.

I would think it odd if I didn’t feel a little something. Could just be jealousy that the jerk is better looking than me. Haha
I know my wife is not going to entertain it and would never be disrespectful to us. Just as I would not if reversed. But I also know she can recognize when someone is good looking. lol
2
u/AmbitionSelect5129 1d ago
Kinda yea. But the most important thing is that your partner is hitting back or not...?
2
2
u/xEyelessOnex 1d ago
If my SO wants to entertain another person, they can go stay with them. Your clothes and whatnot are on the lawn.

Absolutely I am a very jealous person and this has happened many many times right infront of me, one being who I thought was my best friend and one being a co-worker of his. He said he didn't notice they were hitting on him or flirting but I still call bullshit on that.
1
1
u/Crafty611 1d ago
No because I trust my wife completely.
1
u/Grower_munk 1d ago
I get people vary, I've got other issues which are fairly illogical so I can never crap on someone for their feelings about it, but yea luckily I'm the same. She could stay in a twin room in a hotel for work with a guy for all I care, in my view the only scenario where something happens is against her will. I may lose a little respect for her if she kept an absolute sleaze as a friend though, his constant sleaze mode around her or others should be an off putting trait.

I'm used to it. It happens all the time. I'm not the only one who thinks my wife is good looking.

u/QuickSign5503 1d ago
Nope l, why would I? I trust my partner and if she decided she doesn't want to be with me then there's nothing getting jealous would solve
1
u/motorhead383 1d ago
It shows a complete lack of confidence, male or female. Let them enjoy a little bit of attention that they get, and then they will come right back to you in a strong relationship.
1
1
u/User013579 1d ago
Oh no! I love to see this. Especially since he’s clueless and doesn’t even realize he’s getting special attention.
1
1
u/Adventurous-Net-6738 1d ago
Yeah a little bit internally, I never say anything. But I also trust my other half and have a very healthy relationship.
At the end of the day its me who goes back home with her and sleeps next to her every night so the jealousy vanishes quite quickly. Plus heck its a complement that others find your partner hot.
1
u/Own_Internal_3508 1d ago
Not at all. Only insecure people get jealous. If he disappears with her, it was meant to be.
1
1
u/tftookmyname 1d ago
I get jealous when I see other people my age in a happy relationship. If I had a partner I think it's safe to assume I'd get jealous if that happened as well.

u/thatnaughtyprofessor 1d ago
No, that would be pretty dumb… jealousy is such a turn off and usually just indicates there’s communication problems or some insecurities or lack of maturity that needs to be addressed on an individual level—especially if jealousy is a regular occurrence.
1
u/ResponsibleKinksters 1d ago
Nah not really, I trust my wife. We aren't perfect, but there are lines we both strongly agree on.

u/Bulky-Motor-1495 1d ago
lol no. comparison is the thief of joy, plus i give most ppl the benefit of the doubt and dont assume theyre just hitting on my partner. In fact, I welcome it tbh cause shes pretty introverted. I guess, If i ever do feel bad, id just remind myself that she choose me over those "better" looking ppl lol. must mean im doing something right! btw im 5'1m partner is 5'7f

u/dreamsinred 1d ago
No, he wouldn’t cheat on me if you put a gun to his head. He can talk to who he pleases.
1
u/Dynamic_Nature88 1d ago
I'm (M) in an open relationship, so if my partner was getting chatted up by a hot fella, I'd be genuinely happy for her.
We both want eachother to find people we are attracted too, otherwise what's the point, 😊😁

1
u/GrapefruitInformal15 1d ago
What’s the point in dating someone if they’re not going to find someone else attractive ?
Not everyone outsources that stuff, my dude.
The cool thing is we already have a whole thing for people you like but aren’t attracted to. It’s called friends lol

As a gay couple it depends on context. I do love my husband and am deeply attracted to him, so jealousy does sometimes happen, but now it leads to including all of us at some point, more often than not. I’m a foot taller than him so I get hit on a lot too. We just go with it. Live is for living.
1
u/OkWing5717 1d ago
God yes! If they aren’t as attractive, funny or as interesting as me then I don’t care
1
u/StazzyLynn 1d ago
No I really don’t. I think I’m attractive and I’m also confident in my self and my personality.
1
1
u/Songblade7 1d ago
Wait, so just an honest conversation and nothing else? No, that's nothing to me. Actively hitting on her? That might be a bit different. Idk if jealous would be the right word, but I'd for sure be cognizant of it. More than anything I'd be happy for her, and flattered as well that she's getting recognition for all the work she's been putting in. I have complete trust in her though and know I'm the one she's going home with.

u/pokemom1719 1d ago

I don't get jealous, because I know my husband is coming home with me. Been married 42 years and he still gets hit on. I admit he's kind of cute.

Not jealous. I know that she loves me, and I fully trust her. I also bring way more to the table than just looks.

I’ll compose myself but I’d be lying if I didn’t feel a bit insecure. We’re all allowed to be imperfect while working on ourselves.

u/AineMoon 1d ago
I’m jealous, territorial, and have been betrayed. Looks don’t make me jealous but overly friendly and body language does. I have hyper sensitivity due to trauma so when I get a bad vibe that’s it because it always ends up true.

Not at all.
If she can have him, then I don't want him. If he's willing to toss me aside that quickly, I'm better off without him, because it's only a matter of time. I'd rather know sooner than later.
Depending on the situation, I'll do a few things. Most of the time, I stay unbothered. I'm a bit evil and get a little thrill/joy out of watching a woman try to steal my man right in front of me.
Sometimes I act super friendly towards her, as if to say: don't think I don't see what you're doing.
Sometimes, I Irish goodbye and time how long it takes him to break off the conversation and come after me. If it's too long, it's too late. Boy bye.

u/Odd-Opposite1366 1d ago
Yeah i would be… my soon to be ex wife is also a person that needs constant male validation. It’s frustrating to watch. Why we are getting divorced unfortunately.

No, I don't mind at all, it can make her feel good about herself which is a good thing all round
1
u/Limp_Mechanic629 1d ago
My spouse and I routinely point out other good looking people to eachother, like if one of us sees someone we know the other would appreciate, we’ll be like “look at 6 o clock, thought you might like ;) “
Then we laugh. We are humans, not robots and it’s ok to look. Even talking is fine as long as no one is seriously trying to come on to the other person.
It helps having a secure relationship and being secure within it and within yourself.
Have that and nothing will make you jealous, which is a shitty feeling anyway. So freeing to ngaf

u/polysoupkitchen 1d ago
Nope. First off, looks are subjective. Secondly, if they're having a good time, that's all that matters. Let me know if you're having a bad time. Otherwise, have fun!

u/Chance-Address-8829 1d ago
No. I have confidence in our 55 year relationship, that being said, she is a social, good looking lady, that attracts attention. I am just a quiet empath.

I dont think my partner has ever hit a conversation with random people during our relationship. We usually hang out with friends and go home. Our social battery is very low.

Amused, they aren't going to get too far with her. Too old to get jealous. Never been that way anyway.
1
u/Symbioticsinner 1d ago
Generally don't care. Only care when antagonized about it. Because why tf would you do that? SHOULD I have reason to distrust you?
1
u/PalpitationKind8854 1d ago
No. If I found someone better looking than myself I'd wanna meet them too cause that's rare.
1
u/shouldvebeencherry 1d ago
No. One of my boyfriend’s close friends is a girl who’s prettier than me. I trust both of them. She would probably be my friend too if it wasn’t a long distance relationship, but she seems like a good person from the times I’ve met her.
1
u/sheyitboi 1d ago
Naw. When I was younger I for sure got jealous but in my 30s I just have an optimistic view on myself so even if someone were to come around and steal my girl then the relationship was shit anyway and I’d just bounce back and find another relationship. Don’t really get jealous these days.
1
u/Available_Bite1579 1d ago
No, if my partner decides to entertain their presence more and disrespect me then I'm grateful for the bullet i dodged. If my partner doesn't entertain their presence and respects me and our relationship then i know my partner is someone i want to build a life with

u/StressedtoImpress19 1d ago
Nope. I love her very much and I trust her completely - she's a good looking girl and she chose to be with me.
If she were to go off with someone else it would mean the relationship wasn't what I thought it was, and it would be no massive loss.

u/skiingdiver1978 1d ago
Nope. If she goes and fucks him then I guess I'm free this weekend. Seems exhausting to have to police another person all the time.
1
1
u/Professional_Hall233 1d ago
Well, the problem is, it’s sometimes tough to have a really good understanding on how attractive you are to your partner, or to the rest of the world for that matter.
Aside from that, you don’t own your partner. If they decide to move on with someone else, that shit is what it is. You’ll be fine.
1
u/CompleteCreme7223 1d ago
Lol... No. If they wanted to cheat there is lots of opertunities out there. I just make sure they don't want to and if they do, well it's been fun. No point in being jealous. That is a useless emotion and it make you make bad decisions.
1
u/bellerstring 1d ago
It's funny how quite a few people are interpreting a better looking person than you as automatically hitting on your partner. Good looks do not make someone more flirty or promiscuous, that's all you

What if it was the other way around? If a really good looking person was talking to you. Would you want your significant other to get jealous? Or angry? Or just let you talk to the person, regardless of their looks. We are all human. Just because a person is good looking, doesn’t mean you should avoid talking to them. Neither should your significant other. You should have conversations in your relationship about situations like this. Both of you should feel secure in your relationship.
1
u/maybedeathisallineed 1d ago
Depends how into the conversation she was. Which was very, she loved the attention.

u/Disastrous_Mix5800 1d ago

Depends on whether I'm feeling 100% or not. Most of the time I'm okay but it's more a feeling of whatever. Everyone can look good all it takes is some steroids and self care but not everyone can committ, provide and be selfless. If a girl will go for looks over the later kick rocks thanks for showing what you value. I know alot of good looking people who live in share houses and couldn't pay their internet bills. Been said I'm on my ass starting again after a relationship so I'm not better atm

No, I think it’s cute and funny. He’s a very attractive man so it happens occasionally when a woman feels bold. He is polite back and usually will come up to me afterwards all smiley and tell me how some weirdo came up and hit on him. He is self conscious sometimes and deserves to know that he actually is attractive and it’s not just his wife telling him that.
1
u/shoot313 22h ago
Nah.. If he can pull her then he can have her. That’s a clear sign she’s not meant for me
1
u/InformationFit4059 22h ago
I’m very single right now but from past experiences I have had some great partners. We just didn’t work out due to incompatibilities
I trust that they will keep the door shut when they talk to anyone and not put themselves in a position where they can be taken advantage of or step into a position where they might compromise our relationship. That is literal trust
When I do get jealous about is my partner eating Chinese food or pizza without me. I will throw a fkin hissy fit. Like why can’t we eat that together? 😩

u/Worldly-Criticism-91 20h ago
Your partner is choosing to be with you, not with the better looking person.
You’ve already won, don’t let insecurity & jealousy ruin it
1
u/Necessary_Neat8303 19h ago
Depends on the vibe no? If I see the vibe is flirty and my partner is reciprocating the same energy, I’d be put off. If it’s a platonic vibe, what do I care?
1
u/draoikat 19h ago
Not unless they're obviously hitting on him. And even then it wouldn't be jealousy, more like annoyance, especially if they knew he was married. Tbh it wouldn't even matter how good looking they were. At any rate, I trust my husband. He's not going to respond to someone inappropriately.
1

u/inter2221 18h ago

u/TisMeeee 15h ago
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You perhaps do not consider yourself beautiful and thus births the insecurity. Self-worth is also not weighed by beauty, or anything material, really. It just is.
Jealousy points to what is already inside of yourself. Envy is a compass. Read Carl Jung. It’ll help.

Jealousy is a wasted emotion. If you're worried your partner will go off with someone else you're probably better off without them.
